This is one of the oldest theaters in Dallas and maybe needs a bit of a refresh. The outside and inside design s beautiful and harkens back to older theaters that you just don't see anymore. But it is very run down. The paint and wallpaper is peeling off most of the walls and the bathroom looked like a demolition room. The actual theater seats are OK (although our theater was upstairs, I think the room downstairs has couches insread of real seats.) The room had a bit of an old-age odor and we were the only ones there. The nice thing is that they do show some movies that are not available anywhere else, for example some straight to Netflix films. Be sure to join the free membership club for discounts on ticket fees and on Tuesdays. I'd go here if I really had to but I would really try to go to any other place.

The concept of this theater is creative and innovating . That I was actually shocked that the few times I've come, it's never been as busy as other theaters I've attended. Especially on movie release days. They don't offer much food or really None at all , but they do have soft drinks and wine /beer. The prices of admission are fair and compatible with other theaters, actually they're more affordable than other movie theaters. You can clearly see that this is a much older theater, it's beautiful and has character, but it could use Some much needed and deserved upgrades. From the curb appeal all the way to the bathrooms, to the stairs , to the couch like chairs and beanie bag chairs , some renovations should be in Motion. The sounding isn't always the best either. The theaters smells odd, kind of an old mildew and mold smell. I've came here a few times and to experience a couple of different theater auditoriums . so it's fair when I say it's likely that it's the entire building it's self and not just an occurrence in a particular auditorium or two. Maybe it's time to replace the couches and or the carpet . I'm curious to know how often they clean all the furniture inside each theater, because my last time visiting, when leaving and the lights came on after the production. I was beyond disgusted on how Stained some of the couches were, and I felt Disgusted knowing that I was sitting in that filth for all that time. With Covid now apart of our daily lives maybe that can become one of their reasonings for better cleaning and sanitizing practices. Some additions to the menu (like adding some actual food in general or allowing outside food) could add a lot of value to this place . It's not a bad theater at all, it could just use some upgrades.

This theater definitely has a unique old theater vibe in a classy area. I wanted to find a new theater to try out for quiet place 2 and we loved it. I have issues feeling comfortable in theaters and it was nice having a couch. There are very limited food options and the theater is small is it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I recommend trying it

Great film with great company :)

Albeit the ticket pricing scheme is more greedy this time around, I still absolutely love this theater and it's atmosphere. I watched 22 Jump Street here a year ago when it came out and recently for Inside Out in 3D. I discovered that only Theater 1 had couches and upstairs are 2 normal theaters which were bummers to my date and I. To get the full movie and couch experience we paid $3 extra each for the 3D showing of Inside Out and it was fun and comfortable for the two of us. What a lovely concept for a movie, to me. This makes me wish all theaters had couches instead of lousy seats. I only wish that the Landmark Movie Co. wouldn't upcharge the couch theater room to exclusively 3D showings, but I can see why it's benefiting their revenue. This place is the perfect movie date night spot. Fit for lovers (on Lover's Lane, teehee) or kids and fambam. Check it out. :)

Instead, the experience was so atrocious it genuinely ruined the evening, and I'm honestly embarrassed we recommended this theater and brought her there. Our movie started at 3:40 PM. We arrived around 3:15 PM, seated early, and ready to order. No server ever came. Thirty minutes later, during previews, I had to leave the theater to ask someone for help. They assured me someone would be in. We kept waiting... Our table also had not been cleaned from the previous showing and still had leftover food and drinks sitting there. We finally placed an order around 4:05 PM after flagging down multiple employees: 2 burgers, popcorn, mozzarella sticks, 2 beers, and a Sprite. The beers arrived first. The popcorn came 30 minutes later and was freezing cold and stale. I asked THREE times for my Sprite before finally getting it nearly an hour later. The mozzarella sticks and only ONE burger arrived around 5:20 PM. The second burger never came at all. The credits rolled at 5:40PM. Our service lights were on almost the entire movie and nobody came. The most disappointing part was the response from management. I completely understand being short staffed on a holiday, but the manager was cold, dismissive, and offered excuses instead of accountability or empathy. At some point, if the kitchen and service are that underwater, you have to stop pretending you can provide a luxury dining experience. To their credit, they comped most of the food (most of it was missing or poor quality anyway), but honestly that does not make up for an experience that completely derailed what was supposed to be a special Mother's Day outing. We live nearby and have had good experiences here in the past, which makes this even more disappointing. Unfortunately, after today, we will absolutely not be back.

I bought tickets from a ticket kiosk downstairs, made my way up the escalator, directed myself towards the correct theater, viewed my movie, and left. Aside from a couple other movie-goers, I did not see another single soul. Not even at the concessions stand. My date jokingly asked, "Why did we even buy our tickets? There was nobody to check!" The theater itself was clean and cozy, with only 16 seats, arranged in pairs on either side of the aisle. We arrived right on time, and sat awkwardly for an extra 15 minutes in front of a blank screen. No previews or anything began until 15 minutes after the scheduled movie time. Again, a very odd experience. Not having seen any employees before, we wondered if there was even anyone to operate the theater. The movie did eventually start, and the experience was smooth sailing from there. I will say, the movie tickets and snacks were cheaper than other, absurdly priced movie theaters. (Judging from the snack listings. I didn't buy any snacks, because again. There was nobody around?) In the end, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from coming for a movie. It was just a strange movie experience.

My review focuses on the different types of seating and the greatness of online ordering. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Theater, Return) Atmosphere - Upon entering, you'll find a huge concession stand in the middle complete with movie candy and snacks to entice you as you make your way to order popcorn. There's an arcade on the right, and another concession stand for ordering more food along with tons of seating. If you order ahead, you can pick up your concessions here (see below for more details). 1 Star. Service - I'm going to focus on the Cinemark app. Who needs Moviefone when I can use the app for everything? I can select a theater, choose a movie, choose my seat, and even order concessions. Seriously, kudos to the Cinemark team, I show up at movie time, pick up my popcorn and concession that I ordered online, and head to my movie. No stress/wait, just time saved. 1 Star. Theater - Not all screens are the same. Here's a breakdown of what to expect: 1. IMAX - It's IMAX Digital - not a full-blown IMAX experience, but still good. The IMAX screen is dedicated to one side. It has its own concession stand, but it's never open. Finally, these are regular seats - no recliners. 2. XD - This is Cinemark's best experience. Huge floor to wall screen with reclining seats. There are also a few DBox seats which are more immersive (and expensive). There are two XD screens at this location. 3. 2D Digital - This is Cinemark's standard screen. They have multiple screens that vary in size, and they all have reclining seats. If you're not sure what experience your movie is showing on, check the website or app. Most blockbuster movies will be shown in IMAX and XD opening weekend, then will move to the smaller 2D Digital screens. Expect to pay about $50 for 2 people and concessions. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I really like the convenience of selecting a movie and buying it online along with my concessions. I'm also a Movie Club member (check Cinemark for details as pricing varies by location) and buying/refunding tickets and concessions are super easy. 1 Star.

But in reality, the theater was not full. So I am not quite sure what was going on. The theater has not changed and has not been updated since our 2011 visit. The theater is showing its age. The seats we had were broken. They were stuck in one position and could only be changed with considerable physical force. I had to get up and kick the seat many times to get it to a normal upright position. The seats were not comfortable. The theater we were in (#1) had a screen that was too small for the size. The theater was quite large and we were towards the back, Row G, and screen seemed barely adequate. Maybe it would have been better if we had been closer. The previews appeared not to be in HD although the picture quality for the main show was fine. Aside from our broken chairs, another complaint is the fact that servers were walking in front of us nearly the entire show. You think that ordering food and drink as you watch a movie is a good idea, but it is not. It became really annoying to constantly have servers walk in front of us, which was distracting especially during key moments of the movie. We did not order any food but the people to the right and left of us did, so we had people walking in front of us the entire show.
