We had heard about Meow Wolf in the past and thought it sounded neat but wasn't fully interested in going. I definitely didn't fully understand what it was. My husband and I needed a fun activity to do together (without the kids) for our 18th wedding anniversary and I decided it looked neat enough to go to, even if it was mainly just an immersive art experience. I was 1000% wrong. It is way, way more than that. It is intense and entertaining and intriguinging and kept our attention and interest for nearly 3 hours on our extended date. We felt a bit like kids again, and there was even more of the experience that we didn't fully explore in that timeframe. It's hard to explain without giving away spoilers but it was incredibly interesting and multifaceted and immersive, but not directly as an art exhibit as much as like you are in a storyline in an Alice in Wonderland-like world with multiple dimensions and most everything is interactive. Touch everything, push the buttons, open the doors and drawers and cabinets, cause there are hidden treasures and such at every turn. The employees were wonderful. No one broke character, they were just as present as you'd want them to be (they're there in part to answer questions and help with whatever is needed), and they all were welcoming. One in particular stood out - Reinhart. I didn't know it until after we exited the experience but they're the manager at the location. That doesn't surprise me because they were a role model for how the staff there should interact with the people attending the experience. They may all do that too truly, but I can only speak directly about this manager as we crossed paths with them so many times. There was a group of elementary-aged kiddos who were clearly having the time of their lives and part of that was due to Reinhart's interactions. The kids would treat them as a customer in their game of "Restaurant", ask them to be a member of their audience as they performed on the stage for them, invite them to walk around with them throughout the different areas of the experience, etc. They stayed in character and interacted with the kids on their level, never seeming bored or inconvenienced, and always game for whatever they wanted of them. They were definitely invested in the kids having the ultimate experience that day and I'm certain they did, in large part due to the way Reinhart enhanced the experience for them throughout their time there. When we left (shortly after the group of kids) they were already at the register helping out and being readily available for the customers in the gift shop. They definitely fulfill the spirit of the place and made it even more fun for us just by being around their great interactions with the kids. Cost: Worth it. 100%. To be clear, I am a pretty cheap person, which is why I had deferred taking my 2 kiddos to it even though they were interested. I didn't want to spend that much money on what I thought was a nice but fairly straightforward art experience but now that we truly understand what it is we will DEFINITELY be bringing them back, as well as our girl scout troop. We're also gonna have my kids upcoming birthday party here too, her request. My only regret is just buying one time tickets and not buying my hubby and I the membership, as it pays for itself after only 2 visits and we will definitely want to go to this and other Meow Wolfs later this summer. They have multiple locations across the US and each one has a different experience/storyline/exhibits, so it's worth going to any of them your near as they aren't all the same. We will likely get our kids the membership when we take them soon. There is an integrated snack shack in the experience and the prices aren't bad, better than a lot of places we've gone to in the past. You can't bring outside food and drink but they do have water stations to fill up an empty bottle at, if you bring one. To summarize - 10/10, highly recommend, will go again, cheapskate approved!!! read more

My family and I decided to visit Meow Wolf when in the area. We bought our tickets online in advance. We parked and walked in. This experience was labeled as The Real Unreal. After waiting in line at the check-in and going through a metal detector we were directed to a waiting room where a friendly employee explained that there was a mysterious story that you could try to figure out or you could just explore. Then they led us into the room to start exploring at our own pace. It was a really cool experience and full of creatively fun art. It was definitely an out of this world experience. After spending a few hours exploring we briefly visited the souvenir shop. We didn't get anything but they do have a variety of things to purchase. Overall The Real Unreal Meow Wolf is worth a visit if you like hands on experiences with a mysterious story that you can try to figure out while enjoying the creative art work. read more

I am quite sure you will have a five-star experience if you have not already been to the Santa Fe flagship one. But, if you have, this is like Weezer covering Africa. Totally underwhelming, unnecessary, and nothing new. Still, we spent 90 minutes, and, to be fair, we wondered if Meow Wolf is like heroin, and fans try to get that "first hit" feeling that will never come. It's spring break and I told my granddaughter I would take her somewhere special - I chose Meow Wolf. I was a little nervous bringing here to this place, but she REALLY enjoyed it. We didn't do the scavenger hunt, and we basically went through it on our own, but the story is about a boy and his dreams. You walk through the chimney and all of a sudden you're in what feels like a nightmare - but not too spooky. This was done really well. It's creative. Interesting. But having done it once, I don't feel the need to go back. The pictures will tell the story for me. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. I was nervous going in, not sure what to expect. The workers were amazing and kind, explaining everything and shepherding us through. The actual experience was insane, I was going through secret passages, seeing insane other worlds, and crawling through Coraline's tube. We got a drink at the bar, it was delicious! I got a coke and asked for cherries in my soda, and they loaded it up! Great bartenders and very nice. The place is AMAZING. if you're on the fence, just go. Just do it. Love this place!! It's an art exhibit with a storyline. There are things to explore, see, hear, touch, trade and even smell hidden everywhere! To me, it's kind of nod to Stranger Things. You go in, it's a house but it's not a house if you explore further. start opening up doorways, cupboards, drawers, refrigerators and washing machines! Storyline - a boy and his mom move in with his Auntie. Boy disappears. Nuff said. Go see for yourself, prepare to spend around 2 &1/2 - 3 hours exploring. Do not skip opening up doors or going into closets! At first we thought maybe the doors were just for staff or were exits but we were very wrong! I figured since we were nearby it was a great time for my partner to get to check out a Meow Wolf location. I'd been to the one in Vegas and didn't know what to expect here. First, it's not a total madhouse. Everyone was quite calm and respectful, not running around acting wild. I figured it would be different but was happy to see it's a completely different theme/experience. It was fun to check out but expect to spend an hour, maybe two here. There isn't that much going on and same goes for food/beverages. Nothing very exciting if you ask me and it's not like a cool fun area to eat in either, but normal cafe style. It's in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking and you might find other things around that interest you. I'd still go but wouldn't bother with the 3D glasses. read more

Kid friendly. I brought my 4yo, 2yo, and 10mo and went during the week to avoid crowds. We had way more fun than I expected. The kids warmed up as we explored and played more. They serve adult drinks and popcorn inside, which was a nice bonus. It's so cool and fun, I'm sure we didn't even see everything. This was the 3rd Meow Wolf installment I've been to, along with Santa Fe and Vegas. Just as cool as the others. Had a good time exploring and checking out how unreal the real unreal is. Lots of interactive pieces and videos to watch if you want to solve the puzzle, but also fun to just explore. I also added on a cocktail, I believe it was a spicy margarita and it was delicious, bartenders were super nice and made the drink quickly. Been wanting to visit a Meow Wolf since their OG location opened but never had a chance till now. All in all it was a very good experience: the installations are great, the staff are friendly, and it's fun seeing how the interactive performances engage kids. I'm only docking a star because the whole thing is a bit Disneyfied, and also the interactive elements of the spaces could be more detailed and more developed. But this could be a function of making the experience kid-friendly--minimizing choking hazards and breakable pieces, etc. bottom line, though, there's tons to explore for anyone with a curious spirit, and imo it's worth the cost (at least when I went on a weekday)! but you can skip the glasses read more

I wasn't sure what this was/is on a bad weather day layover at the mall. To be honest I'm still not sure! BUT the visual and tactile aspects and the huge variety of art is incredible. It was also fun to pause and "people watch" folks of all ages engaging in the story lines and the reactions. Much fun and I ended up exploring in there for a few hours; every time I headed for the exit there's yet another hallway or room. As a whole, it's an amazing work of art and fun! read more

Definitely and trippy experience. If you have been to any Meow Wolf production you already know and if you haven't you need to go. I have been to the Vegas one before and this one was different but still connected. I was in town for a conference and the group of coworkers I was with wanted to attend so I tagged along. They offer and veteran/military discount so be sure to take advantage if you are eligible. The experience is interactive and immersive. You have a storyline to flow for a missing kid. As you explore the exhibit you get various clues to learn the full story. Very interesting indeed. We stayed about two hours before we got the story down. They have employees stationed throughout that will give you hints and various missions to complete. You can stay inside as long as you like. They have a bar in the lobby area and a second one hidden inside of you are able to find it. Great fun for a date night or family outing. read more

This was my second time coming to The Real Unreal and I loved it just as much as the first time. It's all about the energy you bring into this choose your own adventure experience so I always love spending time here getting totally lost in the installations. I was super excited to see that they added a permanent bar to the city area with cute little souvenir cups for creative cocktails. I highly recommend the lemonade one stuffed with nerds-- it was well worth $9. I am always excited to support local artist works in a permanent installation experience! Not to mention the gift shop is addicting. Everyone on staff is so kind, funny, and ready to cut it up with you and make your day even better. I wish the price was cheaper during midday weekdays rather than evenings but that has to be my only complaint. read more

Super fun experience! Not as involved as the one in Vegas but there are still plenty of rooms to explore and get lost in. I pre-ordered a drink ticket for $17 but noticed the prices at the bar were $15. Thought it meant that maybe I get the "special" $5 add-on for free but no. There's a special "wormhole" drink for $18 that the ticket is not allowed to redeem for. I asked why someone would pre-order then and was told that "the artists set the price" and it's for "convenience." Felt a little ripped off by that account so got a refund to tip the bartender for the same price as the pre-order. This is not my favorite Meow Wolf (That would be Denver), but it's still really fun. It's inside of a mall, which is kind of odd, but still has a pretty big amount of space to explore. The story of this one is that you're exploring a house where a kid went missing, presumably into another dimension. There's no real "answer" to the mystery, but there is a ton to explore. My favorite part is in the laundry room of the house. Don't skip over looking inside the washer and dryer. read more

Meow Wolf Grapevine is definitely a unique and memorable experience. I went with my wife and a friend visiting from out of town, and we spent close to five hours exploring. The art and design are incredibly creative, with endless details to discover. Neon City was the standout for us -- vibrant, fun, and unlike anything else I've seen. That said, the experience isn't without some drawbacks. It was very crowded during our visit, with lots of small children running freely, which made it harder to get immersed in the environment. The flow of the exhibit also feels a little scattered since you can start anywhere, though it works better if you follow it in a certain order. On the logistical side, staff training could be stronger. We ran into an issue with re-entry because hand stamps weren't given consistently, which caused some unnecessary delays. Bathrooms are also inconvenient since leaving means going back through security and the entry process again. Inside, additional sanitizing stations would go a long way, as most of the experience involves touching surfaces that didn't feel especially clean. Parking was straightforward, and while the ticket price felt semi-worth it for the amount of time we spent, I'd recommend buying in advance to save money. For us, it's probably a one-time visit at the DFW location, but the overall concept is impressive enough that I'd be interested in checking out Meow Wolf's other installations in the future. read more

I had absolutely no idea what I was in for when my friend took me to Meow Wolf, so I went in completely blind. It was very cool! It gives "Stranger Things" vibes, but is also super different. There are a lot of things to touch and explore, and there are a bunch of art installations you walk through that have been created by different local artists. It's much bigger than I thought and I had a good time. There's this whole storyline woven through the experience that was very confusing. In fairness, we didn't download the optional mobile app, so maybe that would have explained things better. Also, there are a lot of things you're supposed to explore and touch, and some were cool but some were weird: like rummaging through stuff in a chest of drawers in a house, etc. My inner germophobe wanted nothing to do with that, and also would have appreciated hand sanitizer stations throughout the exhibit. Overall, though, it was super cool. My niece and nephew would have loved it. I hope they bring one to Chicago. read more

This was our second Meow Wolf, having gone to Santa Fe in '23, and Grapevine lived up to our expectations and more. The first time I didn't know what to expect but now that I'm an experienced Meower I had a high bar for this location to meet. The experience is just amazing. The depth of the thought process, creativity, the presentation astounds the visitor unless maybe you also are an artist, visual creator or own an imagination with no boundaries. Stimuli after stimuli at every door or opening confronts you and beckons you to explore with lights, sounds, puzzles and more which is their goal of course. It kept getting more and more interesting as we went deeper into each room up and downstairs. It is a trip to say the least. The details they go through to give you enjoyment were so appreciated by me that I stopped, looked, read, gazed at things for periods I didn't expect and my wife got tired of trying to find me! Your team did a fantastic job executing an upstream take on the original museum concept in NM. Thank you Meow Wolf and I will see you again in Vegas in a few months. Hi. Here's all the FYI and TMI on MW. For comparison, I have been to Nxt Digital Museum in Amsterdam as well as both Teamlabs locations in Tokyo - those are def a bit more immersive. Before we embark upon this journey, I will say the stars go to the exhibit itself and the patient, thoughtful, helpful employees. Did my inner goth girl manifest when I saw these young art students able to be themselves while working? Yes. When did I stop wearing black lipstick? We arrived around 12:30 on a weekday hoping to miss crowds and kids. It seems they sell tix via time blocks to stagger the crowds, but we needed coffee so we paid a bit more for anytime admission and returned at 1:30ish and waited with the group to hear the rules, info, and enter - maybe 25 of us. As soon as we entered - too many (not all, but...) loud, out-of-control kids. Don't come for me, I'm a parent and this was not ok. Normally, I can ignore such things but when you are literally climbing through the very narrow tunnels (washer and dryer for example), I don't need a strange kid wedging in with knees in my ribs. But, reality check, this is an outlet mall. That said, they do have adults only times, check the site. Regardless, it was a fun couple of hours. We investigated every area. Walking through fridges and opening secret closets, reading journals in drawers, cool digital and neon sign sections reminiscent of Shinjuku at night. Subtle thought provoking messages throughout. Micro-Severance vibes. Also, Picking up the payphone and hearing a faint voice on the other side is the best type of creepy y'all! They had a little bar in one area with interesting drinks but most of that open-ish area was populated with parents who lost their kids talking to staff. There is also a snack bar in the lobby with fun drinks and treats. We spent way more time than expected in the gift shop and trust me, you will want everything no matter your age. It was hard not to give them all of my money. Overall, a good time and glad we went. read more

I had a lot of fun at Meow Wolf and would definitely recommend for an interactive experience with a friend or partner. It's a little expensive, but it definitely offers hours and hours of enjoyment. Be mindful of your timing in visiting as it gets crowded. I found this puzzle a lot more simple/ straightforward and less cognitively complex than that in Santa Fe, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The art is incredibly impressive and worth taking in just in its own right. It's probably not the kind of experience I would go to repeatedly, but I'm really glad I got to see it. There are a lot of embedded side quests you can embark on once you're there. :) Make sure to come in pretty full and allot a solid chunk of time to stay to best enjoy your time there. read more

I spent my free day here since six flags was closed but was very impressed with all the detail and spent hours in here! I've been to the one in Vegas so it was so cool to see how different this design was and I think I liked this one better. The story was more clear throughout the exhibit I liked the interaction more. This was my first meow wolf experience ever, and it was a great one! I didn't really know what to expect going into it, but it was super fun interacting with everything in the exhibit. It took about 2 hours to explore every single area. You can either look around at your leisure or download the app to do a semi-guided experience. There are drinks and food available for purchase outside the entrance, and drinks are allowed inside. (I'm not sure if the snacks are also allowed inside.) It wasn't overly crowded when we went (on a Monday afternoon), but I imagine that it can get super crowded on the weekends. I definitely want to check out the other locations, especially the new one that opened in Houston. read more

I've been aching to visit a Meow Wolf venue forever, and the opportunity presented itself when I came to Dallas for a conference. I give this a five because it's creative, it's engaging, and the staff are top notch. They are dramatic, funny, talented, helpful, and clearly made for this type of work. This is sort of like a choose your own adventure combined with an escape game. The story revolves around a pre-teen/adolescent boy who disappears under intergalactic/celestial circumstances. The visuals are wonderful. Engaging and Instagrammable. The concept is so very cool. You're working your way through multiple rooms to solve a mystery. Multi-media, using murals, tablets, letters, analogue, and more. The concept is most certainly rad. But there were too many people. Just. too. many. people. And I don't know if they were like me, but I was a person who purchased an "any time" entry ticket and could spend all day there if I wanted to. Great in theory. But the vibe is totally MURDERED by the gaggles of people clogging every space. And while I realize they have a couple nights here and there that are adults only, there were a ton of kids running around there, and that made me just want to snort all the birth control I could find. I wouldn't discourage anyone from coming. But if you're someone like me who really wants to focus on experience and avoid crowds, maybe look for special events.
