When I called they were actually able to book me for the next day due to a cancellation and I got my husband scheduled for only 3 weeks out. The building is very nice and all the equipment is up to date. They have chairs that give a bit of a massage (it's very subtle, but there) and have a tv on to help distract. The hygienist was very friendly and talked me through all the steps as we went through them. Being dental work, nothing was 100% comfortable, but there was minimal pain and discomfort. My appointment took longer than I had expected, but I also had to have fresh xrays and a full cleaning (lots to chip off since it had been so long). The Dentist went over the photos and xrays they took with me on the tv screen, so it was nice having a visual while he talked about my teeth. Overall a nice and friendly experience and would go back if I'm still in the area next year.

I developed a dental abscess and needed a dental visit (and a root canal as it turned out). Even though I wasn't a regular patient there, Dr. Steven L. Kurth stayed late with his staff to examine me and then later yet to complete the needed root canal. The office was bright and modern, the staff friendly, and the procedure was even more comfortable and successful than a previous root canal I had in a specialist's office in Minneapolis. They said these have been forming since I didn't do well at taking care of my teeth (3-4 years ago) and now I have to deal with the fact that I need to constantly watch out for my teeth, and I have to get 2 cavities filled. They never once brought up these spots to me, and now my permanent teeth that I will have for the rest of my life are damaged. This place is terrible, would not recommend. The staff is nice, but they need to do better at actually telling their patients when they have cavities that are forming or current cavities. Please do not go here.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schreiner for years (15 at least) and when he moved to the new building I followed him. This new location has several dentists practicing in it so if you prefer a dentist make sure you request your appointment to be with them. But it's also convenient because if you need to be seen soon you could easily see another dentist. Dr Schreiner has taken care of all of my families dental needs since I moved to the Cedar Valley. He and his staff is personable and take very good care us. I've recommended several coworkers to his practice and they are always pleased.

We tried another dentist in town (Oelwein Dental Associates), and everything about it made him really concerned to try another dentist in this area. I'm glad that we did. Berryman has done a fantastic job with us. When I first scheduled to get in, they found an appointment for a new client within a month. Every appointment since then has been made within a month. They happily work with our insurance, and we've never had any billing issues. On some procedures, they do work out how much insurance won't cover (crowns, for example) and ask you to pay that up-front before they do the procedure - which was really odd billing for me, but as long as they don't double-charge, I don't really mind. Best of all, Berryman has done really well with him. He lets him listen to music during procedures, he is really friendly and gentle with him, he uses more painkillers when needed, and he generally has been an all-around gentle and fantastic dentist to work with. My partner still doesn't like going to the dentist, but it's a whole lot less of a fight. And unlike our previous dental experiences (which left him in pain for at least a week or two afterwards - even on simple cleanings), this one only seems to have about a day of residual soreness and then everything is fine. We're much, much happier. (FYI: We recently moved to Cedar Falls, and he still comes back here for dental work because he loves it so much.)
