I might've been in a weird mood, but this place has the coolest hangout vibes of any coffee shop I've entered outside of Vienna or London Dropped in recently to send some emails/work while my mom was riding her horse nearby, and what a vibrant spot! Nice open/airy first floor with lots of comfy chairs/couches with different configurations to sit and chill or rendezvous with your work team/friends, etc. There was a dude tying flies in the corner and college kids meeting for a study group, diverse mix of folks. Apparently they have tap beer & wine on nights where they host events like trivia on Thurs or bingo on Fri, cool local artwork featured on the walls Service was great/informative on the drink and bakery items, coffee came out quickly (granted it wasn't super busy), Nitro cold brew was excellent, wifi great, chair was comfy, would drop in anytime I'm in the area to catch up on work, relax with great caffeination, or check out the events they host. Cheers!

I did not have to wait long for my order, Slamming Salmon on bagel and an iced dark chocolate raspberry latte. Yummy! I love hanging out at Impact Coffee.

We had a girls weekend in Decorah and Impact Coffee was definitely one of my favorite spots! Bright airy atmosphere, great music, efficient staff. Plenty of room to sit, read, play board games/cards, chat with a friend, or simply enjoy your beverage while relaxing. We came here for cocktails and returned the next morning for coffee and bagels. Highly recommend adding Impact Coffee to your Decorah itinerary!

Awesome place- a must stop in Decorah Iowa! Coffee is absolutely delicious. I loved the cold brew drinks including the Nitro mocha and the sweet and creamy. The espresso is also delicious, and the barista recommended an Oatchata drink what was fantastic. Each day I was there the baristas were welcoming and made great recommendations. Refuel smoothie (banana, peanut butter, spinach and almond milk) is a great option for the whole family and addictingly tasty! We realized after a few days that they rotate the art, which might be the best part. Featuring the local artists of the area, the historic brick walls are lined with colorful landscapes and abstracts. Make sure to check it out!

Note the lack of waffle. So sad.

Update. All is right in the world. The waffle is back on the Peppa Pig sandwich. I cannot say what an amazing and life altering event this was for the community at large. Thank you for listening to the voice of the people. Your dedication to providing an exceptional coffee and breakfast based experience is second to none.

A very large place- plenty of room to spread out. In fact, I don't think I've ever been in such a large place- two floors.

Great atmosphere- friendly staff- outstanding coffee shop. Not something you find in a smaller Iowa town. Minneapolis? Sure- Decorah? Not a chance! During my visit the barista absolutely knew what she was doing. My cappuccino was fantastic. Not many can pull off a classic Cortado either. Even if you don't need it get a waffle- no regrets. Banana and Nutella - classic comb. I'd have only asked to preheat the mug. Drink was hot but quickly cooled. A complaint? No!

My husband and I stopped here while camping at Yellow River. There is a wide variety of drinks, both coffee & alcoholic. My husband had a regular iced coffee and it was extremely smooth. I had a season coconut cold brew and it was amazing. Not too sweet but really creamy. We will return when we are back in the area!

With the world completely upside down, my husband and I have taken to the road to find our all time favorite coffee shops. It's a really fun and easy way to support local and get a caffeine fix at the same time! We drove up to Decorah and tried this gem. While indoor seating was closed, I really enjoyed the whole "order from the window" thing, especially on a beautiful day! It was easy to stay spaced out and the line moved quickly. One of my favorite things to try at coffee shops (if I stray from my iced vanilla latte) is any unique cold brew flavor. I had the Sweet & Creamy Cold Brew and it was great! A little light on the coffee taste, but that's to be expected I suppose. I would have loved to try the pumpkin spice creamy cold brew, but that's a drink for another day. I'm excited to head back this way when everything settles down a bit eventually because I've heard the inside is really cool.

Impact is doing a great job safely serving up coffee during the pandemic! You currently place your order at their outdoor window, they prepare it inside, and hand it back out to you. We then took our coffee on our walk at Dunning's Spring Park. I tried an oat milk latte and hubby had a drip coffee. Both were great! I peaked through the window at the indoor space, and it looks so cute! Can't wait to try the full Impact experience if we go back to Decorah.

Kind of torn on this review…read more Grounded has a great patio and well-priced drinks. I just would say I haven't been super impressed by their drinks. I tend to prefer places that make some of their own syrups, etc. and from what I can tell, Grounded doesn't really do much from scratch, which is fine, just not my preference. Their drinks are usually good. I was kind of disappointed to see their even their seasonal specialty drink was not a homemade syrup. My biggest complaint is their cold brew is super weak/too watered down. Service is usually okay, cleanliness is usually okay as well. I do love their expanded hours, so we do stop here when others are closed.

Back then, it was our little ritual, cozy mornings with warm drinks and big feelings, just the two of us figuring out a new chapter one sip at a time. She'd order something with way too much whipped cream, and I'd pretend I wasn't tearing up over how grown-up she looked holding her cocoa. Now? We still go, only these days, she brings her friends, and I'm just along for the ride, and maybe to pay. It's gone from quiet catch-ups to full-blown coffee shop photo shoots with her crew. And honestly? The lighting in there gets it. The huge windows, the plants, the downtown charm, it's practically begging for cute, candid best friend pics and "caught laughing but obviously posed" moments. The vibe is warm, welcoming, a little artsy, and always buzzing in the best way. Whether we're talking about life, school, crushes, or just sitting in that comfortable silence that only comes with time, Grounded feels like home. A beautiful, caffeinated home with oat milk options and the occasional scone we swear we're splitting, but somehow I never get half. Grounded isn't just a coffee shop to us. It's a memory maker, a tradition keeper, a growing-up landmark in latte form.
