Imperial Excavating is the one to call when you need a pool to go buh-bye. I got 10 bids for my pool removal and these guys were head and shoulders above the rest. From initial consult they were very professional to answer my questions and explain the process. Very knowledgeable concerning the disconnect of electrical, water and the gas line to the spa heater. They have the heavy machinery to get the job done including haul away and site compaction. These guys started everyday on time and the job foreman Kevin always briefed me on the days plan while keeping me posted on progress. Amazing to watch these guys work from the heavy equipment hammer operator, Bobcat loader operator to the guy using the rebar saw to the guys driving the dump trucks they were a symphony of coordinated efficiency. They removed a fiber glass pool from our backyard. The machine operator was excellent and not a single plant in the area was harmed. They arrived when they said they would, took care of all needed city of Tempe permits and inspections. Cleaned up after themselves. Rebuilt and painted the portion of the block wall removed to do the job with a perfect paint match. Not only am I very pleased, but my husband, an engineer, is very pleased with all the work. Working with Imperial for a pool removal could not have been any easier. Justin got me a quote very quickly, answered all questions I had and explained the process well up front. His pricing was very competitive as well. When I decided to move forward, he got the city permit quickly. Their crew showed up on time (early in fact) all days, and knocked it out of the park. They worked very quickly and neatly, there was zero mess left after they were done. Encountered no problems at all from Imperial. The only problem I had was that the rock delivery company (someone I scheduled with) flaked and didn't deliver the landscaping rock as ordered. But Justin and Imperial were able to do a pickup of the rock and saved me a lot of hassle and issues. Removing a pool isn't a light decision to make, but I would highly recommend Imperial for anyone considering the process. I'd happily use them again for any excavation work I needed (although honestly I can't imagine what else I would need now that the pool is gone) read more

Had Imperial Excavating remove my pool via the "pool fill-in" option, where they break up the bottom of the pool and take down the top 18-24 inches of the pool wall and then fill in. Werner and his crew did a fantastic job -- as Werner had promised, you can't tell that the pool was ever there. I was very impressed by their work -- quick, efficient, and they really knew what they were doing, and had all the right equipment to do it. Entire job was completed within 4 working days. All details of the job, including removing old pool equipment, pool timer & wires, pool deck, and breaking down upper pool walls and bottom -- then filling in with fine dirt and compacting, and then putting new landscape rock on and then rebuilding access wall with stucco and repainting -- done extremely well. I used Justin with Imperial to excavate my pool for an owner build project. I was a bit terrified getting started and found dealing with subs a bit intimidating when they would ask questions and I would just babble as I didn't know what the hell was going on. Justin was very patient and always got back to me in a timely manner. As for the actual work they did a great job. We purchased our home in 2013 and found ourselves with a 1/4 acre worth of 2-3" rock. We figure the rock has been down for possibly a good 20-30 years and the underlayments are disintegrating and useless. Also, our dog has hip arthritis from running around on an unstable surface all her life (she's 5 and our last house had rock too). We want to install artificial turf in the backyard some time in the near future and needed a cleared area in the center of our yard and around 3 very large citrus trees. Imperial was the first company that appeared on a search of local excavation companies by my home. They offer a free consult so we had a visit with Ron (I'm pretty sure that was his name). He was on time, extremely friendly, and gave us some great ideas. Quote came back and we decided to move forward. Communication from the office was superb, the excavation team arrived early (a very friendly father/son team) and they did a great job of removing 1800 sq feet of rock from our backyard! Now our dog has been enjoying racing around our yard like a greyhound. We will use Imperial again if needed for the front yard. Highly recommend! read more
