Recently I requested a quote for some concrete block repair on the corner of my house. Within a few minutes I received a message from Antonio saying he would do the job and gave me a price. I was impressed with the speed in which he replied. After giving it a few days I received zero quotes from the other companies Yelp sent my request to. So naturally I contacted Antonio again and gave him a date to do the job. He accepted. During the week Antonio contacted me a few times just to confirm he would be there and we were still good for Friday. Friday morning came and he was supposed to be here at 9am. He arrived at 9:30 just after I sent a message asking when he would get here. During the job he had to let the concrete dry a little so we started talking about jobs and careers and his son, which he brought along on the job to help out. I loved this part because it was nice to see a young teen out learning the work and a trade from "dad" instead of playing video games or watching tik tok. When the job was done about an hour and a half later it looked perfect and ready for paint. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to being late and getting cement spatter on my car (which he did keep his word and clean it up when he was done). Pros: Cons: -Finished product looks bad -No upfront professional contract but instead an email from gmail kind of outlining the job -Only wants to be paid in cash. Why is that? Probably so he doesn't have to report taxes? I don't know, but it's a bad look. -Left multiple spots in my yard with plenty of concrete to harden and for me to clean up. He let concrete dry on my shovel too. -Very unclear about leveling the clean outs, so now they are above ground. This could have been avoided. -sloppy on quite a few areas -left concrete to dry on my walls. Hopefully the included photos will clue you in. And please compare my photos to the photos in the other reviews. I wanted so bad to give this company a good review but I have to be honest. They were personable, did not rush the estimate appointment, and he even took notes (other companies did not). The price was reasonable for the size of the project. There was minimal mess during the entire process, they even back filled the area when finished! We requested special gates, HOA paint match, sand stucco finish, composite wood, etc.... This company did a fantastic job on my concrete work! I had problems with drainage due to a overgrown sissoo tree. The roots had lifted concrete causing water to drain to my back patio door. They replaced the concrete so that it now slopes away from my home and added a large pad for future pergola and added sidewalks. They were fast, professional and priced well. Contracted to do a driveway replacement after receiving 3 bids. King Kongcrete was awarded the job based upon their competitive price, demonstrated technical knowledge and favorable reviews. Being in a historic district, we must comply with approved drawings, which included recreation of the original ribbon driveways common throughout our neighborhood. Also, as a result of some criticism I read in one review, I asked Antonio for a contract. He offered me to write it up, which I did, and he signed. It took 3 days to complete the job, which seemed reasonable (1 day demo and forms, 1 day for pour and finish, 1 day to install bricks). Antonio allowed me to inspect his work incrementally and he complied with the drawing. I found him easy to work with and the quality of his crew's work was outstanding. I am very happy with the job that Antonio and his crew did on the additional driveway area that they added. He came out promptly to quote the job upon calling them ..he actually showed up and on time ! In todays society that alone is worth 5 stars, but then he gave me a fair price and said they would start on that following Wednesday, which was about 4 days away. They did start on that Wednesday by prepping the area. They had all the had all the proper equipment and staff to do the job. Then they returned the next morning to pour the concrete.
