This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. First, when I called for an estimate John actually called back. As I'm sure many of you know you make calls looking to get an estimate for work and you don't even receive the courtesy of a call back. That's not the case with John. After we receive the estimate we decided we wanted to go with JMK after reading the fantastic reviews. However, we did not have the funds and did not want to pay an additional charge to put the deposit on my credit card. When I reached out to John and explained the situation he put me on the schedule in good faith until I sent in the deposit. The work started on the day we were told it would start and ended on the day we were told it would end. Partway through the work I realized that John and I may have had a communication error with what I wanted and what he thought I wanted and when we discussed it he immediately corrected and promptly addressed my concerns. In all this was the best experience I've had with a contractor.

My husband asked me where they did the repairs after they had finished. That is good work. They work carefully and skillfully. They arrived when expected, worked neatly, cleaned up everything after they finished and explained everything clearly and honestly right from the beginning. He told me he had taken another job and might come by later that day or possibly another day. I found this to be very unprofessional. He eventually arrived the next day at 11:00 a.m. The agreement was that the stump would be ground down to lawn level so I could cover it with soil and plant grass. However, he left a large portion of the stump about a foot above ground, making it impossible to seed over it as planned. I told him I would handle cleaning up the wood chips myself, since my neighbor offered to help with his tractor. But when my neighbor saw the stump, he said the job was not done properly and that it was far too high above ground to be seeded. When I called Darren to ask if he would be returning to finish the work, he became extremely aggressive and verbally abusive--calling me a "retarded bitch" and threatening to dump debris in my driveway so I couldn't leave my house. Because of these threats, I had to file a police report and install security cameras. I refused to pay for a job that was clearly incomplete and poorly done. Everyone who has seen the stump agrees it was not properly ground down to lawn level.
