Highly impressed. I had a driveway gate where a swing arm had rusted open, so I bought a replacement arm from Eagle. Turns out the replacement arm was short by three inches so I figured to get an iron gate company to weld it in a different spot. Called Imperial and they arranged a welder to meet me at my home in a couple of days. I had my new part ready but the technician looked at the gate arm and told me it was better to work with the old arm instead. Quickly he fixed the arm and re-welded it back on to the gate. Then he noticed that the other side of the gate was also rusting from the inside, so he quickly set up again abs welded that. So I got two swing arms fixed for the price of one ($300). Very impressed by both skill and service, these people know iron gates including motorized ones. Good job. read more

And it functions very well. I am taking one star off because of the communication. They changed the installation date randomly without notifying us, and didn't install every device. Just like many great reviews you've read, Daniel and the entire IIW team is solid. Not only do they get the job done but they also stand behind their work. There we're few times that the gate has some issues (no fault of the IIW or anything just the nature of maintaining your automatic gate) and Daniel would either come out or send people over to resolve it even 2+ years after!. For this type of work and product you cannot just focus on the cheapest price, The whole package counts. If I had any more future needs I definitely will go back to them again. My parents has worked with Imperial various times over the years, so I didn't hesitate to call them for a job. My home needed some new fencing along with a gate. I met with Reg who I believe is the owner, and I showed him what I wanted. He educated me about what would be required for pool code. The crew came out to install and Daniel came by to check on the work. Everything came out as expected, they were matching an existing fence on the property and it came out exactly the same. Actually looked better than the old fence in terms of the fit and finish. The old gate had large gaps between the gate and wall/fence. They put in the gate back in January and I really appreciated them coming out to fix some little issues not caused by them. I decided to write this yelp to thank them. My neighbor also had some fencing put in around the same time as me. (their contractor actually had favorable reviews on yelp also, but our fence seems to have held up much better). I would not recommend this company. They did a sloppy job. The paint retouch was horrible. It was thick and did not match the original color. I asked for semi gloss and they retouched with high gloss using a paint brush. I asked them to come back to correct it. They did come back. They used sand paper, no effect. I called the second time to have them fix it but was told they are too busy and do not have time and that nothing is 100% perfect. The price I paid for the gate does not justify the quality of work provided. I notified the company that I will be giving them a review on yelp. Very dishonest technician. Call for driveway gate malfunction. Told me the fuse is bad and need to be replaced. Charged me $200 for the repair. Next day the gate stop working again, called & texted the owner's wife. Send me a text with video the gate was operating and no other info. Called another technician and told me my motor DOES NOT have any fuse! There is no way to replace any type of fuse. He simply made some adjustments to my motor and the gate was good, already been a month. Definitely not calling this company for any thing else. read more

This place is fantastic!! They did a great job! I needed an automatic driveway gate installed along with some fencing, so I asked a contractor buddy of mine and he recommended them. I gave them a call, Daniel came out did some measurements and explained what they were going to do. After we worked out a design he provided me a quote, which seemed very fair. We called Imperial Iron Works to come out and fix our mechanical gate issue that our last guy installed incorrectly and could not fix. (Our last guy sold us a cheap gate with a cheap motor, but assured us our motor was top of the line.) Daniel from Imperial was prompt to assess the issue and the quote he gave us to repair our gate was very fair. We were out of town when he called to tell us he had time to come back and fix our gate, but he told us we needn't be home for the repairs. When we got back from our trip, we were pleasantly surprised by how good of a job they did. The gate looked fantastic and was back to great working condition. Plus his crew left the work area clean (the last guy did not...there were cigarette butts and wires he hadn't bothered to sweep up and throw away). Throughout this whole process, Daniel was easy to get a hold of and very communicative about the whole process. Learn from our mistake and get it right the first time. I wish we had Imperial Iron Works correctly install our gate the first time around! In the future, I will definitely be using this company again when we are ready to replace our gate with a nicer motor or ironwork. Bad customer service, I had scheduled a consultation and ask for a price quote for the front gate for a 5 units community. I had ask them for suggestions of the most economic way to put up a gate for security reasons and a guy came over and briefly stay for less then 10 minutes. I was expecting they will call me back and give me a quote. That didn't happen so I call the back. They said they cannot give me a quote if I didn't tell them what i want. I think I made my point pretty clear "most economic and serve the purpose" . I guess they don't really care about my business! read more

Believe it or not, a lot of the contractors on yelp are not even licensed!!! I had a very bad personal experience with an unlicensed contractor so I now I always check contractors on the cslb website. If your reading this yelp, you guys should have a feature for this. I am however glad I found Imperial Iron on yelp, they're licensed and insured, and they did a really good job putting in a gate opener and replacing my old gate. He even help me set up my phone to control the gate opener. Their price was very fair. I met with Daniel (he's actually older then he looks, I asked hahaha), he was very easy to work with, answered all my questions and concerns. Now I don't have to get out of my car to open the gate! I needed my gate repaired, the motor for my iron gate stopped working correctly. I actually called someone else and they told me a needed a new motor. Then I remebered that Imperial had intially put in my fence and iron gate years back, so I gave them a call. They came out promptly and fixed the motor and it now works great. This review is a little overdue. I got my stucco retaining wall & iron fence installed for the front yard in July. I am happy with the outcome but I rated 4 stars because initially there was some confusion in communication back & forth with a young lady named Anna for the designs, prices, & contract's details. Also, I was a little frustrated thru out the process of stucco wall installation. However, Daniel was pretty easy to deal with, easy to be reached, answered all my concerns, & he accommodated to all my requests & changes. More importantly, he fabricated beautiful product & delivered on schedule. So yes, I would recommend this business.
