Hi I'm posting here about a really terrible experience we have had. We hired this man by the name of Francisco Mota owner of FM IRON WORKS 9539 Rush Street South El Monte CA 91733 We paid him a deposit for our home gates on Jan 26th and he had promised 2/3 weeks today is April 22nd that's 3 months & he has not delivered our gates but also doesn't answer our phone calls and has ghosted us a few times in between then answers our calls for a little bit in between & then ghosts us again. My husband has repeatedly called / messaged him he messages him back saying he'll call him back and he never does. We are completely frazzled as to how someone can act this way and really tired of running behind someone who has our money & will not return the money or deliver the gates. Wanted to see if anyone here has ever used this man for their gates or if you have any suggestions on dealing with such a situation. I met with Fransisco at my home and we worked out a price. I gave him the deposit and he said it would take about two weeks to complete. Amazingly, it only took a week. He followed up with me every other day with the work in progress. Finally, he came out early on a Saturday morning and installed it. The installation was quick and very much to my satisfaction. Had a great experience with Francisco and his team. I wanted 8ft tall gates to replace my 5 foot ones after several break-ins. I got quotes from about 5 other companies. Although they all gave general recommendations, Francisco sat down with me and designed out my gates with me from start to finish. He made several recommendations to add even more security that the other companies didn't even mention and I wouldn't have known about since I've never designed a gate before. He made of a list of all the little details such as the right type of outdoor handle to install, the thickness of the bars and spacing, and even the specific color and texture of powder coated black that would work the best. What set him apart as well was when he recommended things I didn't have to do to save me money but still gave me the option to do them if I wanted. He then personally came out to visit the site and confirm all the details one more time to make sure they worked with my house before finalizing the order. During the fabrication he texted me photos to update me how the gates were looking. He ultimately was able to get them installed in about a week where other guys quoted 2-3 weeks. Best of all, he was willing to beat everyone else's price. My neighbor texted me the same day when they were installed and mentioned that she liked my gates and she's now ordering some for herself. Do not use this company. I contracted with this company on March 31st to create 2 wrought iron side gates, a wrought iron framed wood gate, and 3 small decorative wrought iron fences in the front of my home. The team return on April 27th to install those items but did not have the wood for the small fence. They informed us that they would return in a week with that wood. At that time, we also paid the balance in full and ordered an additional small decorative gate. We were told all work would be complete the following week. On May 21, they texted us saying that they "Haven't forgot about us" and would be here by the following Friday. They did not show up nor call. We texted on May 31st and asked for an update. We received a reply on June 14th stating they would be there the following Friday. The pattern has continued ever since. On July 17, 2021, the company texted that they would be there the following Friday again and I said no. We need a refund. They agreed to pay for just the wood. I refused and said I need the job completed fully or refunded fully. They agreed to show up and complete the job. As of today, August 22, 2021, that has not happened. While their gates are beautiful, I do not recommend this company if you like work to be completed. read more

NO STARS!!! To say that I regret doing business with FM Iron Works is an understatement. Please do your research before deciding to go with this company. This has been one of the worst business interactions I have experienced. The owner subcontracts the painting job and does not stand by the product he sales. After a few days of having the side gates installed, the side gates showed signs of rust. When I contacted the owner (Francisco M.) he said the paint wasn't under warranty. When I initially spoke to him I explained I needed something durable as I didn't want to invest in new gates any time soon. I understand that normal wear and tear happens but for rust to happen less than two weeks after being installed is truly unacceptable. I was informed the side gates were power coated for durability. I highly doubt it. Additionally, the doorknobs/handles that were installed are cheap quality and were installed incorrectly. When I mentioned it to Francisco, he said that's the way the doorknobs/handles came. What?!? Since when does the locked position allow you to open the door? After numerous attempts to resolve this matter, and being ghosted by the owner multiple times, still no resolution. BUYER BEWARE!! This company is unresponsive, unaccountable, blames others, makes excuses, and does not honor his commitments. read more
