Avoid Sweetwater laundry. The wash didn't spin out enough water but I have seen worse. The dryers…read morewere useless. After 30 minutes on high heat nothing was even close to being dried, including synthetic quick dry underwear. I put everything in another dryer for 12 minutes on high heat which didn't dry the clothes even a little bit more. I am road-tripping so now I have to hang everything up in my van to dry.

My first appointment was set for the Monday before we moved into our new home. The gentleman was…read moresupposed to be there at 11:30, when my mom could be at the house to show him around. He showed up around 11:50, without calling me to let me know he would be late & knowing my mother had an appointment at 12 so she would be gone by them. I gave him the code to get in anyway, he couldn't do the cleaning then because there was "too much stuff on the floor". There was a drop cloth & 2 cans of paint in the bedroom that he was no longer supposed to clean, he also said it needed to be vacuumed before he could clean. It had been vacuumed the day before but whatever. I rescheduled for the Friday before we moved in. My husband paid cash but did not check the carpet before the guy left, so that's on us. The carpet didn't look much cleaner than before it was "professionally" cleaned. The more heavily used areas that were very dingy, we now only sort of dingy, & there were huge clumps of animal hair that weren't there before. The guy that did it, told my husband he pulled up a lot of hair & we would need to vacuum that up. I find that really odd but at the time I didn't think it would be bad because I was expectinf a nice clean carpet to move into. I was wrong, I had 6 friends help me move & 3 of them asked why I didn't have my carpets cleaned before I moved in. Since I moved in, I have cleaned the more dingy areas with a Hoover pet carpet shampooer I bought off the yardsale sites in town here. Attached are pictures of the areas I cleaned accompanied with the waste container from the shampooer when I was done. There are two really frustrating parts to this. The first being that I have fibromyalgia, neuropathy, chronic back pain (due to bulged discs, pinched nerve, arthritis, & degenerative disc disease) , and POTS. Which is a big part if why I paid someone to come do it because I can only do small sections in a short period of time. The second being that I reached out via email & showed some of the same pictures I am posting here. Their solution was either they could come back & re-do it, or send me a check for 20% of what I paid. I chose the check option because we had already moved our stuff in & if the guy wouldn't move a drop cloth & 2 cans if paint there was no way he was going to work around our boxes & bed frames. I don't expect for my carpets to be 100% clean where if I use my own shampooer the water is going to come out clear, but this is just gross considering it was supposed to be professionally cleaned. We have never used White Mountain Chem-Dry but the guy we usually use moved to WA. I haven't even gotten to the stairs, which I paid $36 for. They don't look like they have even been cleaned at all, I haven't had the ability to start cleaning those with a spotbot yet. I also paid $50 for a Carpet Protector Stain Fighter. Not sure what the point of that was given they didn't even get up the stains that were there. May 28th was the day I was told via email that they would send out the 20% refund amount. It's now June 13th & I have yet to receive that and I have spent everyday shampooing my carpets section by section so that I can have a clean carpet in the house that I bought. If you use White Mountain Chem-Dry, I would highly suggest making sure you are personally there to check the work before they leave. Don't leave it up to someone like I did. I was not there because I was at a medical appointment, due to all of my diagnosis I see, a neurologist, cardiologist endocrinologist, a clinical pharmacist, and an orthopedic specialist. The original appointment time I was in Denver at a specialist appointment.

They showed up the next morning, extracted the remaining water, pulled up the carpet, removed the ruined carpet pad, (cleaned up & hauled off the damaged materials) then set up fans to dry the carpet. He had instruments with him to measure the moisture content in the floor and walls. We appreciated knowing how far the water had traveled and his explanation of our options moving forward. They were clean, mindful of not causing additional damage, and quick. Reasonable prices. Will definitely call again. Highly recommend.

Of all the collectible shops I've hit thus far, this surprising shop, buried deep in a smaller town…read morewhere it would least be expected, is probably my current favorite. There are a ton of figures here, many of them unique and so many, I didn't even get to the second floor. So, this definitely is going to be a regular stop on trips, unquestionably and I strongly encourage anyone traveling I-80 that crosses the path of Rock Springs and cares at all about this kind of stuff to check in. Yes, it can be a touch convoluted to get there, yes, the hours are a bit curious, as the shop grows and expands and I'm not sure there is a website or other online portal, but this place has a lot of charm to it, staff are great and even if you have to go through the extra work of using the phone or physically going there, it is well worth it. Because I wasn't able to make it downstairs in the time I had (safe thing to do is to go here with a hard budget, but even with mine, which tends to cover other entire stores, I didn't make it past the first floor, even with their highly reasonable and moderate prices - word to the wise, you will find lots of great stuff), I can't say if there is any particular one area of specialty. Most of what I saw on the street floor was figures, movie figures visible from the door, figures lining the walls and spinner racks, shelves above the floor and behind the counter full of figures. There were also some cards and tables, so I'm thinking some M:TG games go on here and even some lounging couches. This would be an incredible shop anywhere, any city. Definitely a fantastic shop already and will only be getting better.
