Well I am very thankful that this institution exists and you can go there and ask for assistance…read morewith important things while you are transitioning looking for work or going to school I have had two caseworkers at Ninestar now and can I just ask to treat some people with dignity and not talk to them with sarcasm I'm sure that there are people that try to abuse the system but I am not and I just want to be spoken to like a normal human being I don't need the sarcasm I hate having to ask for assistance especially because of the ways that one is spoken to it is not dignifying and I cannot wait to be out of school to have a job with good income and not ever need assistance again I hope that never in my life I need assistance again and if you're working with Ninestar I would highly recommend to have all your documents in order and to provide the papers not on the day when you are supposed to provide them but either the same day, the day before, or the day after they request you to bring the stuff in! because it does take them a while to get back with that. you stop in to send emails to leave messages it still takes them a while probably because they are working on a lot of people, given, and they have a high volume of clients but if you don't have time for that then I suggest that you stay on top of them and that you turn in everything sooner way sooner than they wanted and you keep track of everything then maybe things will be done on time from their end and you will receive in time what you need perhaps and of course let's not forget to be thankful that that institution is there at all!! I wanted to give only two stars but I am so thankful for the help and that is why am giving three stars but the way I'm being spoken to I do not appreciate it at all at all at all!

The second floor has several College partners for people wanting to further their education. There is also a great coffee shop at the entrance that is a life-saver when you are stuck in long classes.

Sarah Deen in student accounts never answers the phone or returns messages. Then they will tell you…read morethe day you get a refund check but wait until the end of the day to even print it. They then send you an email end of day on a Friday so you miss when the office is open and have to wait all weekend to help. By the time I get my check it will be 1 week since school started and I have no supplies. I wish the school would think about the students a little bit more.

I was a poor student and needed all the help I could get-small classes and instructors who took the time to assist me made all the difference! My focus was in the hospitality field, one that is no longer offered since the professor has retired from teaching. Being in the heart of Anchorage and the center of the trail network allows any student the opportunity to get outdoors as much as possible, which I did a lot. After reaching out multiple times the only response I received was a link to sign up for lessons again.. not impressed!

The lessons program for children used to be fantastic and my kids were making huge strides. However…read moreover this past year, the program has gone done hill. It lacks consistency, not just between sessions, but also during the same session. My boys have not had the same instructor at all the last few sessions and are never placed in the correct level, even when their last sessions shows what level they should start in. There is not a consistent person in charge either, it constantly changes. When you try to discuss your concerns with the person in charge that day, they don't seem to care what you think. The lack of consistency makes you have to go for more sessions just to get the basic swimming progress. We've been attending for almost 3 years now, but after this session I think we'll have to find a new place to achieve better progress, which is very disappointing.

There seem to be a lot of good things about this program but there was also enough to cause me…read moreconcern that I did not decide to take my child there. 1. I wasn't given full information about prices until I had signed a contract and 2. I was privately concerned about the male "business partner" who helps out at the school. This was just my intuition (which sadly has been right in the past.) I could be wrong. I was told he could step in "if something happened to [Kate]". By this statement I thought she meant if she had a heart attack or was hospitalized or something like that. I came to learn from other parents that Kate would sometimes leave and he would be the only one at the facility (with full unsupervised access to children). This was not my understanding of his role as described during the school tour. Also, I was never introduced to one teacher who was regularly going to be my child's caretaker (and was not a parent getting a discount for helping out.) Finally, when a parent did complain about concerns regarding this man and his contact with their daughter, the response from Kate was immediate denial and defensiveness (to include sending a hostile letter to the military commander of one of the parents, complaining about the parents). Meanwhile, she is required to report allegations (concerns) about improper child touching (child abuse/grooming.) Even if nothing was amiss, the structure (or lack thereof) and response of the individual responsible for keeping children safe, was subpar. As a Better Homes and Garden's article says: Going With Your Gut, it's better to stay away and risk embarrassment than to turn out wrong ("If you 'have a bad feeling' don't ignore it...keep your child away.") I recommend you ask questions, go with your gut, and perhaps require as a condition of your payment that as a parent you can make unannounced visits at any time.

This center is devoted to administering standardized tests for professional certifications, etc…read more The staff take identity verification VERY seriously, which while a bit irritating, is I suppose a good thing. I don't have enough fingers on both hands to count the number of times I had my ID checked, palm scanned, etc. My glasses were even scanned! The testing area is not very large, although as long as your fellow test takers are quiet, it's not a problem. There is parking available under the building (Denali North Tower).
