She had good reviews, I wanted to support a local business, and she could get it done the following day. She showed the next morning with her assistant. They were done in four hours. She showed me the vacuumed rooms, the shower, the stove. Seemed fine. That night I took a closer look. There was dust in door jambs, the tops of the bathroom cabinets weren't cleaned, the top shelf in a bedroom was untouched, the floors were filthy. There were also cleaning items of mine missing. I don't usually complain, but this was too much. I emailed Jhoanna and asked for a partial refund of $100. She said no refund, but she'd come and clean. I said I would prefer the partial refund. She said it was impossible because she already paid her assistant, but she again offered to come and clean for free the following Monday. She also said the reason the shelves weren't clean is because the rooms were dark, and the floors were dirty because people had walked on them. Let me clarify, the bedrooms weren't brightly lit, but on a sunny day with a window, there was ample light to see multiple shelves. The bathrooms were fully lit, and the only person who walked on the floors was me....in socks. Anyway, I accepted her offer, said Monday didn't work, asked what other days she was free. I never heard back. When I hired her, she said house cleaning was no longer her full time job. Perhaps that's why her standards have decreased. Based on the other reviews, and what she charged, this was disappointing and completely unacceptable.

I've had so many hang-ups about getting the decks cleaned because I have two little dogs and I worried they might be impacted by the chemicals. Nick answered my request and assured me that the chemicals that they use dissipate so they would not harm my dogs. He gave me an appointment for the following week. He and his colleague, Mark, even showed up 10 minutes early to set up. They used a high powered pressure wash system. They were very thorough. They got the decks done in a couple of hours. They weren't cheap but I paid for a high quality thorough job and that's what I got. They were courteous, hardworking, knowledgable, professional and helpful. I would hire them again. Some areas of my deck had darkened over time and they brightened them up. They reminded me to stain/ seal the decks afterwards. Here are some photos of the results. Although she had a little trouble finding our house (everyone does), she arrived promptly after receiving additional instructions from us and did a thorough walk-through of our home. We pointed out the areas we wanted her to concentrate on - bathrooms, kitchen, floors, and baseboards. (I have clean baseboards for the first time in my adult life!) She inquired about our preferences for certain tasks like arranging cushions on the sofa. I was impressed to see her doing things such as touching the tops of picture frames to see if they required dusting. Sorangy usually checks in a day or two ahead of time to confirm whether we want her to come on her usual day and to let us know if she has additional availability. We feel comfortable leaving the house while Sorangy is cleaning to let her finish and see herself out. We feel she is responsible and trustworthy. Sorangy (and her team) have cleaned for us 4 or 5 times now. The first was a deep cleaning and the rest have been maintenance cleanings. She is very thorough, especially with the areas we pointed out as being most important to us. We have very hard, iron-rich water that leaves orange stains on all of the tubs, sinks, and toilets. We love it when Sorangy has been here because everything is white and sparkly again! Sorangy is very respectful of private spaces, especially since my husband and I both work from home. She always asks first before entering our offices. If one of us is in a meeting, she will ask again later if it is ok to enter and clean, and we appreciate that. On a personal note, Sorangy is polite, highly personable, and speaks very good English. I enjoy having little chats with her here and there. I have mentioned by back pain to her and she always inquires about how I am feeling. At our first meeting, when I said, "My back is just too sore to do these things," she replied, "It's ok, that's why I am here!" and I loved that! I highly recommend Tiangi Sparkling for anyone in the Hudson and Mohawk Valleys who wants a great cleaning at a reasonable price - especially if it is important to you to support local-, woman-, or minority-owned businesses. We asked for a compromise and to meet us in the middle given that he was supposed to arrive at our home in 11 hours. He said no but ultimately out of desperation we agreed to give him $200 more than what he quoted. He said ok only to call back an hour later and say they were not doing the job anyway. This is an unreliable and shady business that clearly does not care about its customers or building any kind of a positive reputation for itself.
