In jersey where most places close after 10pm it could be a hassle to find something open for a quick grab. Luckily I found this place and I called to make sure that they were really going to close at 1am. Someone picked up and said "yes we're open to 1am". My Dunhill served me well for the better part of ten years but wear and moisture finally got the best of it and the lid warped, rendering it virtually useless. After doing my research, I decided on Prometheus. Their reputation for reliability, style and quality is virtually unsurpassed in the industry and I spent the better part of a slow morning at work trying to find an online resource with a decent selection. Unfortunately, I couldn't find many. J&R in Paramus had a few in stock but they were over $100 above list price and I wasn't prepared to do that. I went back to Prometheus' website and found Cigar World. After a quick call, I discovered they had the model I wanted in my specific veneer choice and off I was to pick it up. This is really a wonderful store with a virtually limitless selection of tobacciana and related accessories. I could have easily spent an afternoon doing some heavy damage in there. The only drawback is that, not surprisingly, the place was filled with smoke and I really wanted to get the hell out before my suit started to reek. I know that I'm in the minority of casual cigar smokers who will only partake in extremely well ventilated lounges or more frequently outside. And, if you think about it, me bitching that a cigar store smelled like cigars is really kind of moronic but hey, that's me.
