They did not see the dog, but asked our sitter to drive in to London to pick up a medicine. She did, but the medicine did nothing to stop the diarrhea. Two days later, the dog sitter brought our dog in to be seen, three more medications were prescribed. Our bill, when we got home was $705.27. When I went in to discuss the situation, the vet was very defensive. She spoke rapidly in a louder voice than was needed and refused to even consider my questions. At the end, she told me that she didn't want to continue our relationship and that I needed to find another vet. That was certainly the conclusion that I came to as well. I thought the bill was way out of line, but I paid it.

I took my yorkie shih tzu to Elgin Animal Hospital, I was concerned about her…read morecoughing. She also has always had issues with her trachea. It was Giulia Salvati that saw my furkid that day, not much about her cough but there was medication to help ease issues with her trachea, namely Isopro/Ephed/Theoph/K-loide Elixir. 1.5 mL by mouth every 8 hrs I was told it was costly per month so I told Giulia I would like to try it for a month and if it helped my furkid I would consider continuing with this medication. I understood that the cost for this medication was $133 per month, I only got enough for 17 days. When I called Elgin Vet I was told that it was only for 17 days. That was not my understanding of the conversation with Giulia. I would not have bought the medication if I had known it was only for 17 days, ($266/ month??) then to top it off I was given 2 syringes that were One Use Only.

She was also very helpful in explaining both the grooming services and possible veterinary services if we choose to change veterinarians. This edit is for a later visit on August 21, 2017: Our dog, Frodo, developed cancer. The staff, particularly the two vets and vet techs, we so wonderful to both him and us through his ordeal. They gave us options and worked with us within our financial means. We had do eventually do what was best for him and they helped us send him over the Rainbow Bridge with such grace, dignity, and compassion that we felt they loved him as much as we did. We will be forever grateful to this clinic for all everyone did, even after he was gone, to comfort us. Many vets are only about the money they can get from their clients, but North Neighbourhood Vet isn't. They deeply love animals and it shows.

I got my French Bulldog spayed here and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a vet I could…read moretell right away something was wrong. and when it started to look infected I brought her back and they said she's fine just take her home I did this for weeks with her because it wasn't getting better and every time they said it was fine and it was because she was active. I didn't believe them but you would think a vet would know best. Still months had past and it wasn't healing when I moved back to Toronto two days later it opened up again and I had to bring her to my vet here. My vet was mortified to see that neighbourhood pet clinic just kept sending her home in this state. I had to pay for antibiotics and now she might need to get another surgery to fix what they did to my poor girl.
