There's nothing on either side of it and nothing across the street as far as the eye can see... yet there it is! And it was very nice for breakfast: comfortable, pleasant indoor and outdoor seating; prompt, friendly, low-key service. The brunch menu is not giant but it's definitely adequate: I had the scramble skillet and it was a v nice plate of delicious food. Everyone else was happy with their food as well. Good coffee. And as we sat there, people started showing up from all over in their cherry classic cars and RVs. And, just to complete the jaw-dropping experience, later the same week, Clint Black was going to perform there!! What??! Anyway, if you find urself in Big Timber, this little place is well worth the drive.

The place is comfortable, laid back but professional, and spotless. I wasn't there for breakfast but staff served a very good vanilla latte. Then I had the burger from locally raised beef. Just outstanding quality. Hand cut thick fries were also solid. It is neat to see the locals stop by--clearly everyone appreciates the place. They bake their own desserts too. Attentive, efficient staff. No one is loafing. Just us visitors! Well worth the drive into the middle of nowhere. Can't wait to drop in for breakfast.

This place is a neat surprise…read more I am on a 2 Week Solo Rd. trip through North Dakota and Montana, photographing. Everything I do is out of my car. In order to cut down on expenses, such as hotels and meals I sleep in my car and cook my meals, there too. Essentially, I am camping out of my car. Truck stops like Pilot and Flying J are really hard to come by in the rural parts of these states. And let's be honest, most of those states are rural. Would I really need those truck stops for is primarily showers and secondarily hot food. I read somewhere online that this place had showers. I stopped in and met Debbie. I asked about showers and was informed they are $10. Then she escorted me to the building where the showers are located behind the main building. They aren't brand new and fancy like the big truck stops, but they are clean and that's what I cared about. The water was hot with good pressure. And... It was hot for a long time. I don't know if this place is usually busy, but during my visit it was not busy. The café had already closed, but Debbie allowed me to sit at the counter and finish up some traveling paperwork. Debbie was very nice, very accommodating and very friendly. Her family started this business in 1952, so she knows everything there is to know about it and the area. I highly recommend this business.

Awesome oasis to take a driving break on road trip! We love the home cooking-especially breakfast.read more

Parr Creek is a nice bakery right on the main street of Lewistown…read more It's one of those places, though, where you need to arrive early if you want the best selection of goodies. By late morning there won't be much left. By late morning, there were only a few donuts on display. There isn't much room for seating here, so to take advantage of one of these treats, expect to wait or just take it to go. Parr Creek has a small breakfast menu, of the type of things you'd expect from a place like this. No full course meals here, just a wrap, pancakes, muffins, scones and cinnamon or caramel rolls. At least that's what was available on the day I was there. There may be other options during the week. The menu is on a whiteboard and it seems the locals don't need to look at the board at all, they just know what to get. On the other hand, there's a small lunch menu with enough selections to make you feel less guilty about indulging a sweet tooth. Next visit, I might try one of them. The sourdough pancakes were served with a rhubarb/strawberry compote that nicely balanced the pancake and I liked that it didn't have the same high level of sweetness as a syrup -- which is also available if that's your preference. Now, the cinnamon roll was gigantic. It was also very good. The frosting was a buttercream, like you get on a cake, and that gave it a completely different flavor than the usual melted sugar. A little of it goes a long way and I preferred to eat around the sweet and just enjoy the subtle cinnamon taste. If you're exploring the area, then make a point to visit Parr Creek.
