This review is about Nikki Wolfe, ACMHC whom I have worked with for therapy for my son.
I had found Niki who said she would help my son cope with the issues of divorce and depression.
I thought with her background in working with DCFS, and being a certified mediator, as well as all the listed credentials she lists, She would be understanding and focus on helping our son with his issues.
There were an situation that came up: My ex was yelling at the boys, telling them that it was their fault that he was in trouble with the court, and both our boys were crying. The ex had them in the car and for over 2 hours, he continued to scream and say awful things to them to the point where they were crying and begging him to stop, and they were not able to get out of the car because he was driving. When the boys shared their experience with me during my parent time with them, I took them straight to see Niki who ended up telling both boys that they should NEVER tell me anything that their father does when they are with him.
For a therapist to tell children they shouldn't be sharing anything that crazy and hurtful that is being done at the other parent's house is not right; nor is it something I want my children to do- that they can't come to me as their advocate when they need help. She has been divorced and remarried. I thought she could help our son, but it ended up being worst!
Besides giving my son therapy she was also seeing my ex and giving him therapy as well. At a few of the last sessions with her, when I asked to speak to her - she would say she could only see Noah.
There was another situation where we had all the family members in the room, and she ended up yelling at both parents in front of the kids.
I lost my trust in her, and took our son out of therapy with her. You can decide if you think this is a women you want helping your children with their issues or troubles. read more
