I booked a two-hour birthday photoshoot with Cranium LLC in December 2025, and the experience did…read morenot meet professional expectations. The photographer arrived more than thirty minutes late. The studio was unprepared and had not been cleaned prior to my session. Although I booked only two hours and did not request additional time, the shoot extended to nearly five hours due to excessive lighting adjustments (an issue noted in another review). This caused me to be significantly late to my birthday plans. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay, and when I raised the concern, the response was dismissive rather than professional. Communication was a consistent issue throughout the process. Prior to the shoot, messages went unanswered for several days. After full payment, communication again stopped for multiple days. Edited photos were delivered without acknowledgment or responses to follow-up messages. When I requested a correction to an edit that still showed a visible hole in my shirt, I did not receive a response for several days. A subsequent edit request received no response at all. The initial edited images were very dark. I did not receive lightened versions until nearly a month after the shoot. My headshots were taken against a dark background that caused my hair to blend in. Due to continued non-responsiveness, this issue was never resolved. Additional edited photos that I purchased were delivered after the stated seven-business-day deadline, with no explanation or acknowledgment of the delay. The photographer also double-booked my session. Another client arrived near the end of my shoot, and the final portion felt rushed. I did not receive all the shots I wanted for any of my styled outfits, including full-body shots that I specifically styled for and expected to receive. While some of the final edited photos turned out decent, the overall experience felt disorganized and dismissive of my time, lacking basic professional courtesy. Clients should also be aware of the following when working with Cranium LLC: * Edited photos may be delivered after the stated deadline without notice. * Communication may stop for extended periods after payment. * Only final retouched images are provided; unedited files or non-watermarked proofs are not released. * Additional photos must be purchased as retouched edits at $50 per image. * Gallery links may be deactivated once selections are made, despite the contract stating 30 days. * Full-body shots are not automatically included and should be explicitly requested in advance. Based on my experience, I recommend confirming expectations in writing regarding communication timelines, shot lists, angles, and image access. Based on this experience, I would not book with Cranium LLC again.

I am still surprised that he has not been reviewed on Yelp yet, but I am quickly changing that! My fiance (now hubs) thought I was crazy for wanting a videographer since we had already found a wonderful photographer, Bonnie J. Heath, to shoot our wedding. Sure, videographers are not cheap, but I knew that I wanted a wedding video to watch in the future - to reminisce on the big day and share with loved ones. | Positives | James is incredibly warm, genuine, and friendly. It was so easy to talk to him, and we "clicked" with him right away. We actually met one other videographer prior to meeting James, but watched some of James' wedding trailers on Vimeo prior to meeting with him and thought they were amazing. After discussing the wedding packages, which were very reasonable, we immediately knew we wanted to hire James after speaking with him. Later, we found out he was actually a preferred videographer for our wedding venue, the Defoor Centre, as well! After I had selected Centennial Olympic Park for our pre-wedding photo session, I asked James for some information about his equipment and other details to include in the park's Film and Video Permit Application. Instead of providing me the information, he volunteered to fill out and submit the form himself! This took a load off of my shoulders as I was busy with so many other things as I was planning the wedding, and I appreciated this gesture so much. The only thing he asked me was the contact information for our photographer so that he could gather some information from her. Another way James went above and beyond our expectations (and the wedding package!) was that he came to our wedding rehearsal - and even shot some video - at no additional charge. Again, he simply volunteered his time because he happened to be free that night and he just wanted to be prepared for the events which would occur on our wedding day. Awesome! On our big day, James arrived early to capture moments of me and my wedding party getting ready. It was stressful and hectic getting from our wedding venue to Centennial Olympic Park (for pre-wedding photos) and then back again, but he was extremely professional and polite the entire time. Just a little over a week after our wedding, James sent us a link to our 6-minute wedding video "trailer"! It was beautiful, and we were super excited in anticipation of our full wedding video. | Areas for Improvement | The estimated turnaround time given to us was 6 to 12 weeks from the wedding date. So when we had not received our wedding video (DVD and Blu-ray) by week 11, I sent James an email for an update as to when we could receive the video. Although I didn't get a reply back, we did receive the video the following week. We thought that James had captured all of the most important moments on our wedding day since he arrived early and stayed through the very end for our sparkler exit from the Defoor Centre and as we rode off in our getaway car. So imagine our complete shock when we did not see a very significant moment - when we first walked down the aisle as husband and wife - in the video. To make a long story short, James informed us that at that very moment when we were exiting, he dropped the camera he had been holding to shoot the ceremony. There was nothing he could do about it. He did have a camera on a tripod up on the stage, but it only showed our wedding party's backs as they walked out. We wished that James could have warned us ahead of time that this crucial moment was not captured in our wedding video. Obviously, there is no way to prevent accidents from happening - especially with a hand-held camera - but we did wish there had been a tripod set up as a back-up to capture the ceremony exit scene. Additionally, James did express his sincere apologies and provided us a flash drive with a digital copy of our wedding video and extra copies of the DVD to help alleviate our disappointment. Overall, James Futch Video gets 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 - primarily because we had such a great experience with James leading up to and on our wedding date. With the exception of the missing scene in our wedding video, we were pleased with James' work and professionalism. I would recommend James to friends and family - and fellow Yelpers, of course - to shoot for any special event! P.S. We chose the package that included the engagement photo shoot and a second photographer, which we highly recommend! Having the engagement photo shoot with Crystal allowed us to get to know her bubbly and warm personality and her style of photography as well as utilize those photos for our save the dates and website. Despite the odds (inclement weather and fast-approaching sunset), our engagement shoot photos were absolutely stunning and gave us all the confidence we needed (and more) that photos of our wedding day would be beautiful. Of course on our wedding day, Crystal performed! Her eye for poses, light, angles, etc is absolutely incredible. We were so impressed with the way in which she directed the shots to create the most beautiful photos we have ever seen. We also recommend her package including a second photographer because of the varying angles that they was able to capture of very special moments to us and because it allowed for more coverage of the wedding since one person obviously cannot be in two places at once. Choosing Crystal as our wedding photographer was the best decision my husband and I could have made in our wedding planning process. I first called ahead to make the appointment and immediately had a great first impression by the customer service. I have absolutely no knowledge of how photography works and Mr. Acosta was very patient with clearly explaining all the different options and the price breakdowns. He also showed me examples of different shoots, portraits, and events he had done in the past and I was convinced that the quality of his work would be superb. The shoot went smoothly and Mr. Acosta was very professional and genuine. After the shoot was complete, I was immediately able to browse through all the photo choices online and choose the headshots that I liked best... I hate to admit it, but I'm really not the most photogenic person, but damn I looked GREAT in those photos! haha. Not only did I look good in them, but I felt the photos stood out because they had a slight artistic influence in them, which was conveyed through the lighting, framing, and focus. While speaking to Mr. Acosta, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Mr. Acosta's expertise ranges in a variety of photographic niches, including party, wedding, engagement, campaign, documentary, fashion, and many more types of photography. He is also part of a collective (The Grey Collective) of other talented photographers. Dynamic Date contacted me through a quote request I did on a contractor website and confirmed they would be prepared in under TWO WEEKS for the corporate event. I just gave them the color theme and they did some beautiful work. Even being patient enough to wait for information just days before the event. Danette was SO gracious and adaptable. I told her me and my colleagues would be there at 2 to help. Sure enough, she didn't even need our help! Everything was being tied together just with her and her business partner! There is a popular restaurant a few doors down and it took all the front and back parking. During the event I was hosting I was getting text messages from the owner which was a bit off putting to say the least , it was about 5:45 and we had the space until 6 she showed up as if she was rushing us out, mind you we had it already cleaned and completely shutdown. There were pictures online that make you think you can decorate or move stuff around to accommodate your event, not true she doesn't let you move anything so it's not a good event for Popup shops, birthday parties, or anything like that. Maybe like a meeting or something. We were using the kitchen with food and had to move our stuff because another of the people that rent the space needed to wash out her hair bowl . I thought that was completely disgusting since food was being catered. Again beautiful venue but these are my issues with the location and venue. Overall I will give the venue 5 stars but the parking was a disaster for a weekend event.

I scoured the internet for local photographers for over a year before I stumbled on Smudged Prntz. One glace at their portfolio and I knew they were what I was looking for. Bold, beautiful colors and truly unique concepts. I thought it was cool that it was ran by a husband and wife team. They send you a few questions to answer before your shoot to get to know you. I nervously anticipated my shoot and I was warmly greeted by Re'Nauta who started off by doing my make up. Chatting with me the whole time and calming my nerves. When it was time for the shoot I was super nervous but Re'Nauta, being a model herself, gave me some tips on looking "fierce". Her hints were so helpful. She is like super woman, she shoots, does hair/make up and gives tips and tricks! I was also lucky enough to be shot by Chris. He took his time and I felt like he was very thoughtful with his shots. They were both so personable. Giving you positivity the whole time and also showing you their shots on their digital camera as they go. Once the shot wrapped, I felt like we had known each other forever! When I got my final product I was floored, I didn't know I could look that good! They did just enough retouching which is something I wanted with my shoot. I couldn't recommend them more. This isn't your plain jane, Olan Mills experience. This is art that is all about bringing out the real you, the really funky you and the super beautiful you. Go to them! Be their muse!
