So this last Saturday my daughter and I went downtown to Winston-Salem to enjoy a Quartet from the Winston-Salem Symphony playing I the courtyard outside of Incendiary! It was glorious!!!! The concert reminded us of how much we love to go to the Symphony; especially for Holidays! I ordered the Sangria Slushy! It was so good I ordered another! Between the Winston-Salem breeze blowing through the courtyard and my icy Sangria, I was extremely comfortable! My daughter ordered her usual Hard Cider! She loves the flavor! First time visiting, but certainly not my last. After one visit, Incendiary has quickly topped my list of breweries. The selection is solid! And I hate to admit to grabbing a frozen slushie at a brewery, but I had to try the spicy margarita slush. I'm glad I did! It was pleasantly spicy and strong. There is ample seating, both inside and out. I noticed the majority of patrons had children and dogs with them and I was sad I didn't know to bring my dog. I enjoyed the space for Incendiary and like all the outdoor room in the back as well. It works out well being situated right next to the pizza place to enjoy a brew and a slice. I've been to incendiary a few times now. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It is a bit dark inside but that's just a minor complaint. I usually order a flight if there's anything new on the menu that interests me, if not I order the honey blonde. This trip there was a blueberry lemon bar on the menu. I cannot remember if it was a cider or a sour. Either way it was delicious. Service has always been good here. The bartenders greet you quickly and friendly. There is no kitchen here, however there is a pizza place next door that will walk your food to you when it's ready.my only issue is parking can be difficult and it is a little difficult to find. There isn't a very visible sign to define the space in the front of the building only a small one at the rear of the building. I would recommend stopping in for a brew here anytime. read more

Great neighborhood brewery, beer is good and high quality all around. Service is always prompt and friendly as well. They have a decent number of large TV's around so it's not a bad spot to watch a game. Weekends are a little more busy and during peak hours it can get a little loud and crowded but most of the time it's very relaxed and laid back. Only draw back is that despite all the seating it can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights and I had to wait a while at the bar for service. The ideal evening would be rallying a few friends, enjoying a brew or two, and having a delicious wood fired pizza preferably outside. If this is a familiar dream, Incendiary is your place. Incendiary is a modern beer garden right in the middle of downtown. When the train goes by it is a crowd pleaser and they always blow their horn! The cozy inside seats about 100 patrons, but the highlight is the much larger outdoor patio. Large picnic tables are spaced out well, providing all diners and drinkers with plenty of room, and the entire space is shadowed in the summer by sun sails. The atmosphere is very laid back, and any of the friendly servers are happy to walk you through the extensive beer menu. You might need a little help - though I found the menu's descriptions of the beers to be quite accurate. Incendiary offers many styles but is renowned for their IPAs (SHIFT series) diesel stouts and Kettle Aged Sours (DTKS series). It also offers wine and some canned seltzers I believe. And talk about location! Right next door is a delicious pizza place and they will deliver right to your table. They also offer salads and desserts. Fantastic beer - some of the best in the state, and definitely the best in the Triad. Always coming out with impressive barrel aged stouts with limited release which generates a ton of excitement. Every style of beer here is top of the line. Go check them out on Untappd. Unfortunately we don't come here as often as we'd like, because the space has become totally overrun by children on scooters due to the Coal Pit outside. I can tell the brewery tries whatever they can to try to control this with signs, but ultimately it's the parents not listening or caring that are perpetuating the issue. It is a chaotic environment during the summer. Winter months are the ideal time for us to venture over here. read more

Today we made it to the downtown location and were really impressed. First, the location is awesome, The Bailey Power Plant building with the Coalpit as an entertainment venue is brilliant. They have managed to take an old industrial building and breathe new life into it. The shared outdoor area is very nice and we appreciate the shade offered by the beams and sunshades. We had been next door ordering our food and stepped in to see what beers they had on tap. I chose the Shift Orange IPA and we went back outside to enjoy the cooler July afternoon. The beer was refreshing and hit the spot. We will absolutely be back and think this would also be a great place to bring out of town guests. read more

Good beer, GREAT location and space. I appreciate the variety of crafted beer they have, especially IPA. Breweries with more than two IPA choices is always a good thing...as it's tough to make a good IPA, and having choices makes it nice to at least have one good one. The common area outside is a large space with plenty of outdoor seating that shares the space with Cugino Forno, great thing to share as you can get a pizza and beer (Incendiary doesn't serve food). Inside, there is fairly good amount of seating as well and TVs to watch games. They hold events there a lot so it's a great place to hang out during the day or nights. read more

We came in for the evening to order some local beers and had a great time here. It was crowded but we found table space at one of the longer tables scattered throughout the industrial feel of the brewery. You need to go to the bar area to order and pick up your beers but they had plenty of bar staff there to take care of you so you won't wait. We got the Demitasse- Nitro Milk Stout which was smooth and creamy with hints of vanilla in it and then after with my pizza I got a glass of the Baltic Porter- Smoked Maple (Baltic Porter with smoked malts and Vermont maple), both beers were excellent and I thought the staff was extremely friendly. I would recommend it and will hopefully come back soon. read more

Now I love a good Scotch Ale that packs a real punch but much of the time when I get one it's a bit weak. Perhaps it's the more authentic version, I'm not really sure bit nothing makes me love a Scotch Ale more than a high (or highish) ABV like the Wee Heavy has. Perhaps it's barrel aged or Whiskey was somehow involved but this Scotch Ale was one of the best ones I've had in a considerable amount of time. The malty, caramel and toffee flavor characteristics are perfectly balanced and gave me an immediate idea that this was a much more serious Scotch Ale I've had perhaps in a year or two. read more

I enjoyed my trip to Incendiary Brewing. In the heart of downtown Winston, it is a really great location. We got there early enough to secure free parking, which was great. I imagine during busy times parking might be a challenge. We had to have a passerby show us where Incendiary was located. It is on the ground floor kind of tucked away under an industrial setting and some railroad tracks. To get into the building you can either go through the back, or walk through the building across from the chocolate place. I got a flight, and the weird thing about their beer was that I didn't like most of them on the first sip, but they grew on me on the second sip. My favorite was the Honey Blonde because it had sweet notes, was light, and was generally just a joy to drink. The Pallida Pilsner was very straightforward and easy to drink. I didn't care for the slightly bitter aftertaste on the Ritual Pilsner. Lastly, the DTKS Key-lime was extremely tart. The bartender noted that what I got was probably more tart than it usually is, because of where she was at in the keg. There's a pizza place next-door, and I could definitely see myself having some beer and pizza on a weekend afternoon. This seems like a great place to just go and have a good conversation with friends. I definitely liked it. read more

A most unique and cool place. It's built directly under an abandoned railroad track. Leaving the original concrete trestles in place was a brilliant idea! There's a large indoor space too. They have a large selection of beer on draught, a few in cans or bottles, and a decent selection of wine, for those who don't care for beer. The price was good too. Service was fast and efficient at the bar. Weather was perfect and my wife and I had a relaxing time just drinking our beer and people watching. Date-day with the wife landed us in Winston-Salem for the afternoon. After bouncing around a few different places, it was time to get our brew on. Enter Incendiary. What can I say-- I'm a sucker for any brewery.. but not all breweries are the same. You're met with this humongous cement structure (adjacent to Cugino Forno, brownie points!) where the outdoor seating is plentiful. Most of the furniture was still wet from the morning rain, so we made ourselves comfortable inside. Instantly you stand in awe of the atmosphere.. racks on racks of barrels and brewing tanks surrounded by an exposed industrial setting with straight wicked murals. Needless to say, indoors checks all the boxes! Our stay featured a glass of Riesling and a four-selection flight of Rosin (APA), Ritual (German Pilsner), Honey Blonde (Honey infused Ale) and the DTKS Cranberry Orange Rosemary Sour. All fantastic. I can imagine many stops here filled with great suds and the best pizza I've ever had being hand delivered to your table(don't @ me). Until next time ! read more

Excellent vide with a huge outdoor space and plenty of space for a large group or ,in my case, family and a stroller. Customer service was excellent and very friendly.
