Came for their soaps a few crystals and incense but found they sold Black seed capsules so was super excited about that! They have an awesome selection of oils to burn and wear, bought one but the name wasn't written on the bottle. I had so many questions I probably distracted her from writing it, Would love to know the name as it smells divine! In a black bottle where the oil you wear is, It's supposed to be for positive energy and something else maybe to protect from bad energy.. but I can't remember, would love to know so I can remember for when I return. I've been here twice to buy oils to scent candles and have had a great experience both times. They have a huge selection of fragrance oils and essential oils as well as palo santo, air fresheners, incense, and much more. I've also bought soy wax and wicks here. The real reason for coming here is the customer service though - they really know what they're talking about and know what I want better than I do. A mother and son work there and there is a definite conflict of interest. When my boyfriend and I walked in I heard the son say to his mother "watch them" I instantly felt angry and hoped that they would at least be helpful. I stood there for awhile and then only got a hi from the mother. I said hi back only waiting for an offer of help. There was none. Finally full of frustration I pleaded for help. After not receiving much help from the mother, I pleaded help from the son. He was glued to the register instead. Something about me did not sit well in their conflict of interest web they have tangled up there. I came for spiritual relief and left with myrrh to burn and a sense of anger and frustration. I lit it before bed that night and woke with many nightmares looming in my head. I plead for you to be nicer son and in turn you will be a more caring parent. read more

Yay! I found my new place! Absolutely hand down - the best place in LA to go to for PURE ESSENTIAL OILS!!! Especially if ur like me- coming from Whole Foods me Sprouts for essential oils- you will love the variety and unlimited oils that are often NOT found in the markets. Do not ...I repeat do NOT get confuse and stumble into the wrong station inside shopping mall. There are a few that pretend to sell pure essential oils and they are frauds ( great if u just want body oils only)...so pay attention to the complete name and pics / directions people have posted. If u make a wrong turn u will end up at one of the shops that sell oils, but not essential oils. If u are helped by Raihan, you are in great hands. He is so knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I wrote a review when I visited this store a little over a month ago. I had a an uncomfortable experience when I visited the store for the first time .It was a rather lengthy comment but it got deleted. There's nothing but positive comments on her and now I know why. When I went in there were two Indian women and one of the two was incredibly rude. She made snarky comments to me but would look down as she said it and on top of that she would yell at the other lady infront of me because she was helping me. I would catch her rolling her eyes when the other lady was helping me. I ended up buying Fragrance Oils because they were the only place I was able to find since all the other stores were only doing curbside pickup and I needed to smell the scents . But I will never go back there again On top of my experience, when I tested the F.O in my candles they did not blend at all, there's no information on how to use their F.O correctly with candles. I specifically asked her that I was looking for F.O for candles and she pointed at the section just for that. So 70 bucks down the drain for me ... Updated : Not an accusation. I'm only stating a fact and that is that my original review I left is not here anymore . My first comment was much more detailed about my experience with one of the women there but it's not there, I looked. Trust me I wrote it because she left such a rude and unprofessional impression on me . I left that tip for the other woman because she took her time with me and I felt so bad when the other woman yelled at her for helping me (even though there was either one or no customers at all in the store so it's not like they were busy and she was free to help someone else if she needed to) soon arrive I only spoke with the helpful lady and never encountered the one being rude so I'm not sure why she was acting like that. I even caught her rolling her eyes when I had asked to smell another scent . The only reason why I tolerated her behavior is because I really needed new fragrance oils and I needed to be able to smell them other wise I would of just left . I would hate to see you lose customers based on her poor hospitality . If she hates her job then please have a talk with her and encourage her to be honest and forthright with you the same way you "encourage your customers" so that everyone is happy . I've been on the search for an authentic incense and oil shop since I moved out here from the east coast. I'm from a city right outside of Philly. Philadelphia has a large and proud population of Muslims many of whom own shops just like Incense Route. All my life I've been around these unforgettable scents that remind me of my great Uncle Saheed, someone I hold dear to my heart. He smells just like so many oils in these amazing shops, a true lasting impression. Incense Route is by far the best shop I've been to since being out here. I love their variety in everything. Not to mention they have so much to offer!!! -Incense cones and sticks (reg and jumbo/dry or dipped) -Body and burning oils (2 walls filled from top to bottom) -All natural cosmetics (Shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil etc!!! And much more, I mean you guys have to see for your self! I was there today with my boyfriend, who is just as crazy as me when it comes to these unique jem's. We walked out with around 40 incense sticks (the ones soaking in oil) and two bottles of body oil, all together around $13.00. The man and woman working was friendly, humble and just super chill. She suggested oils for us and the man was so knowledgeable about everything in the store. I can't wait to return, I WILL be a regular here. I will drive all the way from the valley just to go to this store. In fact I love this whole mall. It is so much fun! This store has every kind of incense you can imagine. I don't need anymore incense but every time I go to Incense Route for raw cocoa butter and Shea butter for my product line, I end up walking out with a few boxes of Copal. Which is my personal favorite for ceremonial work. Every bit as divine as frankincense. This store also carries tons of fragrance oils for your homemade candles and soaps. A great shop for anyone who likes to make their own. This is downtown so don't expect aesthetics. Everything is just all piled up in a small space but they have everything. Seriously one of the best shops I've been to in Downtown Los Angeles, let alone the best I've been to for essential oils and incense. Definitely skip going to wholefoods or other stores that carry third party oils. Incense Route has grade A products and they source their own.(What more could ya ask for?!) Super cool place. They charge fair prices for the quality of essential oils, not a flat fee which I appreciate. I do wish they offered sample sizes for purchase, because I'm doing a lot of experimenting, so one oil I got is a already a waste because I prefer a different one for what I'm making. Also, make sure you go to the correct place...there's another fragrance shop inside that only sells fragrance oils (not essential). This is bar none the best place to get essentials and incense in LA by far. Customer service and knowledge is incredible. I feel ashamed to have spent my money elsewhere before I found this gem. Don't fall for cheap diluted oils that you'll find in other places as I did, please make this your first stop and I promise you won't regret it. Chances are they supplied the company you bought your oils from, and that company diluted them without telling you while keeping the price comparable to keep margins high. I could go on about how great the quality and experience was, but I think everyone gets the point by now. Raihan does custom work as well, and can pretty much break down any fragrance with ease and recreate it. If you have anything out of reach, chances are he's been asked to create it or can do it for you if the price makes sense. Call beforehand so you don't get turned around trying to find them. Incense route is amazing for all of your spiritual needs. As I entered into the bazaar, I could sense a deep aural presence guiding me to the shop. I asked the shopkeeper "which incense would improve my chi flow"? The shopkeeper was very helpful, and gave me several recommendations. Despite it's name, the "Holla Back" incense really helped me get in tune with my chakra. The shop also has a number of herbal medicines which seem very promising. read more

A friend recommended Incense Route to shop for pure essential oils. After 20 minutes of getting by lost in the mall maze, I finally found their booth. I was greeted by Rai and his mother Ronak. What a great friendly guy - he really helped me find the oils I needed and introduced me to a new Indian oil called Neem. I also picked up some Tea Tree Oil. Tea Tree Oil is typically from Australia, but their Tea Tree Oil is from South Africa, which has a very aromatic and smooth smell. His mom who is the Chief Aromatherapist is adorable, sweet and knowledgeable. I will definitely come back to Incense Route. Btw enter on 6th street at the second entrance in the middle of the block (not Los Angeles Street) - walk straight down the aisle, on your left-hand side is Incense Route - you can't miss it. Amidst the crazy bustle of DTLA a diamond in the rough is tucked away. Parking structure next to the mart is the best way to go, it's a flat rate of $8 on weekends and $6 on weekdays. I think that street parking in the area is $4 an hour. The last thing you want is to feel rushed at this place because there are so many things to look at/be distracted by. I went specifically for the essential oils and was very happy with the knowledgeable service and care. The oils smell amazing and I love that there's a price list and a receipt can be emailed or texted to you. This is my go to spot for buying essential oils. Nothing beats being able to physically smell something in order to buy it, sorry Internet. read more

Just came here for the first time looking for Palo Santo and incense and left with that plus a bottle of strong perfume grade rose oil! All for the best prices and quality you will find in a large radius. They're located in a wholesale plaza on 6th and Los Angeles, so you have to go in and find the big red sign "Incense Route" amongst the other shops. Ray was so sweet and was able to help us with all our questions. I left feeling so happy and satisfied I had to immediately write a review and am already planning to return for more products. I love this place! I work around the corner and came across this spot and have been coming here ever since. I come here monthly for the raw shea butter, whipped Shea butter and sage. I highly recommend the coco infused whipped Shea butter it's natural, smells great and melts in the skin.
