On Division Street in downtown Somerville is the kind of vintage clothing shop we used to hit in the late 70's and 80's, Incogneeto. It used to be commonplace to shop for vintage clothes before the days of eBay and stores selling cheap made in China repros new for big money at the mall. Nowadays a jewel like this store is impossible to find. Regardless of the era, there's something here for almost everyone and you'd be hard pressed to find some of the unique, one of a kind garments and accessories available. Great store with excellent selection of clothes. I was truly impressed with all of the clothes throughout the ages which are there. However the store owner.... he is the reason this is 3 stars rather than 5. Absolutely rude! No greeting or smile when you enter. If you ask him any questions about the items or for any help he looks at you like you're an idiot, and either shrugs at you, or says it should be on the tag. Not sure if I would ever return, but if I do I hope I bump into the Stacy woman everyone else speaks very highly of- then I may change my rating. read more

The quantity and variety of vintage goods at Incogneeto are just amazing! Shopping there would be overwhelming if everything wasn't so cool. You'll see clothing and accessories you remember from your childhood, clothing you've seen in your parents' photo albums, and clothing you've only seen in old movies. Just when you think you're done and you can't look at one more item, something else catches your eye and you just have to check it out. The owner really knows her stuff. The guy who minds the counter when she's out is usually friendly; perhaps reviewer Pooj A. caught him on a bad day back in 2017. This is a cute and unexpected thrift shop. It is small, but crammed pack full of a lot of diverse items. If you need a costume, or need a statement piece, this is a great place to stop by for a look. Everything they have is unique and different. The prices are not bad. The only drawback is the mild musty smell, which some people may enjoy. read more

Found a great white knit dress with scalloped hems! It's so charming and unique. Staff was helpful in finding my dad a bowling style shirt which he was looking for the longest time and found it at incogneeto! Great finds here! read more

This shop it truly amazing. The Owner is wonderful and such a joy to chat with. The items in the shop are good quality and she is extremely fair with pricing. She purchased a few vintage dresses from me and was generous with amount of money given to me for them. I left with a gorgeous dress and I plan to return here many more times. I walked in after eating sushi next door while waiting for a ride. The store was cluttered and a mess. Completely disorganized. I was just looking around as my ride called me, and as soon as I answered, some little short man jumped on me claiming that they have a zero phone policy. I apologized and hung up, continuing to look around. Then the guy walked up to me and said I needed to leave. I asked why and he said because I answered my phone. There were zero other people in the store at the time. I dropped everything I had on the ground and walked out. And before I even walked out the door, the guy lit a cigarette. Like seriously you're working in a clothing store. This is the last place you should be smoking.I frequent the area with my friends and I tell everyone not to go in there. read more
