This antique shop is not quite like the others…read more First, it's a second generation shop (passed from mother to son) and has been around for decades. They specialize in antiques mostly 100+ years old. But what is really special (given that you're not in a rush) is the shopkeeper/owner Michael. He is quite a character and is always willing to share his knowledge on anything you ask regarding antiques. He is very quirky but has a very sweet and earnest demeanor. He can talk about just watches for an hour + and never rushes you out. I think his life goal is to saturate his visitors with knowledge! Also noteworthy is that this building is a protected historical site because it used to be the old Metuchen firehouse. If you ask (and sometimes if you don't ask), he'll give you the full tour (a nice history lesson, no charge). If you like learning about historical buildings, make sure you stop here! There is one thing that might need mentioning though--- the shop was on hiatus for a few years so there is some deterioration on the walls and it's a bit more cluttered than it used to be. So do pardon the appearances--- but don't fret about that as if you tell him what you're looking for, he'll probably be able to direct you to the correct pieces! PS. It also helps to call his number just to make sure he'll be there!

When I called and told him I don't think I even could have asked about a return. He went absolutely ballistic. I kept saying don't get so crazy its just a drill, I'll bring it in for you to look at. Then he went on about pawn shops don't take returns, totally untrue and he's not home depot etc. I still am having a hard time believing this guy would go so nuts over a $50 drill. I'm thinking business must not be good to be that rude and unprofessional, he accused me of being on something! I don't use drugs and have an occasional cocktail. I was there in the afternoon after shoprite! I would stay far, far away. Abusive, unprofessional and would not calm down. It was a $50 drill, imagine if it were something expensive? I will throw the drill away and forget it, God only knows what would happen if I actually went there to return it. At least 10 times pawn shops don't take returns, it as is! I said I was sorry I had never been to a pawn shop but nothing I said would get him to calm down. And I went online and pawn shops DO take returns. Wow just Wow!

From what I seen from the outside it looked a bit small. In addition to that, it's located on a street where you must pay by meter to park, and on if there isn't any than you may have go around the block/(s) until there is an open meter, unless you have knowledge of this area and happen to know where else to park.
