Yes, AVOID AT ALL COST! 1. The firm filed a tax extension without telling me, that the government charged over $5000 to my bank account, if I did not have that much money in my bank at the time it will result in a fine. 2. When I called about this situation, they did not apologize to me and told me that the government will return the money when the tax has been filed, which takes about 3 weeks for me to get my money back. At the time I've only graduated for a year, if I had no savings and something major happened that I had to use the money, I'd had nothing to spend. 3. For my parent's tax, the accountant only submitted the amount stated on the W-2 form I send via email and missed the two 1099 forms I sent via email. We received a notice from the gov saying that there are taxes due for unemployment. If it wasn't for this mail we would not even have noticed the accountant did not see the 1099 form I sent to them all the way back in March. 4. I called the office and required an adjustment, but they dare to charge me $50 extra for them to fix their mistakes. If our family did not have a habit of saving money, we now have to pay back the government 4.5k. If we did not have the money in hand right now, we'd be doomed. 5. For instance, if we did not notice your mistake and you misfiled my mom's 1099 when the government finds out we will be charged tax evasion, and who will be responsible for that? If your firm did not dare to ask me to pay for the adjustment I would not write this review and let you fix your mistakes quietly. My family has been a long-time customer of this firm, and this is how you treat your customers. You guys should know that this is ridiculous. read more

If I could give them minus 5 star I would!!!!! I hired them do to my tax (very simple) back in 2008, and I moved oversea for 12 years since 2010. IRS audited it a few year later and caught a mistake on the tax return! This year when I am back to the US, I have received over 20,000 USD tax interests and penalty bill due to the mistake the tax preparer made on my tax return! The audit lady from New York State Taxation told me she doesn't understand why something as simple as that could be wrong in the first place, and she suggested I should hold this firm liable for my bill!!!!! I've been doing my tax return here for longer than 6 years. The tax return amount gets smaller each year. Last year they made some mistake and I had to pay $800 to IRS. It happened once and I forgot about it. We all make mistakes. This year, Ruby increased the price for the services from $135-$180 by stating it's inflation. She did not tell me about the price increase before she filled my income tax return. I paid with Zelle because they always ask for cash so they avoid the tax payment. Why is everybody so rude here? I asked how long I'd have to wait to just pick up my supposedly already completed report, and got three different responses. Turns out they hadn't even finished it despite calling me to tell me it was done. And one of them assumed I was Korean (I'm not) because I asked my questions in English, so they were talking about me behind my back in Mandarin (which I understand). Anyway, a 0.5/10 experience. I have been filing taxes there for many years. What really pissed me off is this new guy who is working in the front desk. I am uncertain to what is wrong with his attitude. Come on man, you're a freaking front desk, at least present your manner correctly. Poor serve and attitude! ! Unprofessional with his wordings and lack of knowledge. Every time when you ask him something (since he is the only one who picks up the phone) always unsure to his answers. Requested him to ask the tax preparer, he refused and still managed to go along with his stupidity. Really upsets me when I am still asking him a question and he responded with: "sorry we've close right now. Ok? Bye" (very mean and attitude). Trash place!! Should reconsider this place. read more

I find some of these negative reviews very unfair. A majority of them are from as far back as 2010. From my understanding, this business started from a tiny office with just one or two employees and the entire Liu family. They open 6 days a week; even 7 days during tax season. Not many tax firms can say the same. There is no doubt that they work very hard. Their accounting fees have always been very reasonable and they do not charge for simple consulting, so maybe that is the reason why most complaints have been about their wait time. However, I hope people can understand that reasonable pricing and free consulting means larger work volumes. There is a limit to what a small firm can do with so many clients. Furthermore, they have been in business for almost 30 years. They are fully qualified to provide the best possible tax preparation. From a tiny office, they grow into a decent office with around 10 employees. Without quality service, this could not have happened. Their experience alone is enough for me to entrust them with my individual and business tax returns. I am a very understanding person, so I certainly won't mind waiting. I also would like to personally thank Ruby for always providing a welcoming experience whenever I come in. Her memory is one of a kind and this is another reason why I will continue to use Income Tax Consultants for all my tax preparation needs. read more

I am a very disorganized person. I am very good at what I do for work, but that is not accounting or taxes. I needed some help! Eco-Tax has been giving me that help this year. Email response times to questions are reasonable, and instead of calling them, I recommend emailing the person you would like to speak with and ask them to call you. I have yet to have somebody not call me back, or send an email to schedule a call back time. Everybody seems helpful, and if they can't answer my question immediately, they check into the matter and get back to me. I would much rather someone do that, then just make up an answer so that they sound like they know everything. I recommend their services at this time. read more

They help with individual and corporation tax which is super helpful. You can even communicate through transactions online ie. email which is super convenient. I absolutely hate this place. The wait time is ridiculous and you have to drop your W2 and make an appointment a month later to have your taxes done, even with the appointment you will wait over an hour. The actual CPA in the office speaks to you as though you're dumb. After all of that, I still got a letter from the IRS saying I was missing documents and my sister got audited after coming here. Not worth the trouble! And they are pricey!! read more

Worst tax consultants! They agreed to send me an email for reviewing the next day, but nobody worked on my case in one month! It was after me calling them more than 10 times that they were finally able to find someone to work on it. Every time I called them, they were bullshitting like "things will be done in 2 hours; it'll be in your email inbox today"... "I am looking for your files; I'll call you back in 5 minutes" (and I was so stupid to believe it)... They seem to be only interested in getting you pay and that's it! Avoid it!! I started to contact them about my tax return since February and submitted all my files then, but they haven't finished my tax return until today, Apr. 11th. Since the beginning of April, I have been calling them to inquire the progress of my tax return. Every time I called, they promised that they would finish my return on that day. But they always failed to fulfill their promise. I have been recommending this firm in the last two years, but I will do this again. I've been coming here for 4 years. Is the place a bit shady? Sure. And very few of the staff speak English that well. Yes, they take your tax info and schedule an appointment a few weeks later. And then the day of, you have to wait a LONG time. *BUT*, Ruby has gotten me the biggest refunds of any accountant I have ever used. She knows her stuff and is very polite. And I have yet to be audited or have any tax issues, so in my opinion, it is well worth the long wait. Just bring a book or something. read more

I am a CPA and tax lawyer, and think these guys do a great job. People hate tax and so they may blame their accountants. Anyway, these guys are very inexpensive and extremely knowledgeable. They have done my personal and business taxes for years and never had any problems. They are careful and conservative. Wait time is insane about 3 hrs at times even if you make an appointment. When you ask them the order of which they have you in they bark at you. AND they put my name incorrectly on my tax return too i really think it was on purpose so that I could file a change and make the IRS mark me to get audited. they are horrible. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I sent them my tax return and they promised to get it back to me in a week - it is over a MONTH later and I still do not have my tax return. And this is with me calling them 10 times over the same period. Every time - it's one of two responses "oh, someone else in the office is responsible" OR "It will be done today..." but then it never shows up and no one follows up. My family has come here for as long as I remember for our taxes, and I've started coming here ever since I realized I couldn't keep on TurboTaxing my way through life. Since this is a small family-owned business, I understand that there is a wait (especially coming from me, I'm used to getting my taxes done in about 30 minutes) but the service they offer is totally worth it. They're the most reasonably priced accountants I've come across with the experience level, so I just bring some chargers and my old 3DS and sit it out. read more
