I am extremely claustrophobic and was frightened of a Pet Scan. My tech at the Wellington location, Liz C., was fabulous and helped me tremendously always exhibiting concern and offering constant reassurance. However, I have to agree with the myriad of other extremely negative reviews on a multiplicity of social media sites about the appointment setting procedure - a nightmare is the only word that comes to mind. The schedulers vary between rude and dismissive. Multiple phone calls are required to set an appointment and trying to get info about an exam procedure is almost impossible. The circular highly frustrating phone system for setting appointments or ATTEMPTING to get info is inexcusable and management needs to step in and retrain and redesign this portion of their business....or perhaps new management is needed because customer service in this area is non-existent. That being said, the medical personnel are kind and professional. The facility is attractive as well as clean and has some of the latest and newest equipment in the area. The parking situation is abhorrent and valet parking should be introduced. There are almost no handicapped spaces and parking is a real problem if you have even the slightest mobility issue. Some of the front desk staff are borderline unfriendly and a total "redo" of the non-medical "customer service" part of this business is warranted. The "medical and tech" end works very well. It is hard to rate because one part of the business is run so well and another part is a virtual disaster. I can only hope that their management reads all the on-line reviews and reacts accordingly. read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANOTHER DIME OF YOUR MONEY. When they feel it in the pocket, maybe they'll fix the multiple mistakes they're guilty of. I've been going here for years because, well for no good reason except familiarity. I needed a chest x-ray. I called to check on protocol due to the pandemic. According to the bot, my wait time would be less than 2 minutes. Great! Perfect! I'll hold. NINE MINUTES later I gave up. The next day, I had better luck & someone answered. I should've asked for her name because, after telling me that chest x-rays didn't need an appointment, I asked her how long would I have to wait as a walk in? TEN MINUTES, she told me. Wow! Great! Next day, I get there, pre-screen at the door, give her my script, ID & insurance card; she gives them to a receptionist & tells me to take a seat. It took longer than 10 minutes for my name to be called to sign forms. Right there, that 10 minute fantasy was over. So, the girl gives my cards back, tells me to sign a couple pages. I'm standing at the desk getting it done quick when a different receptionist says "Maam can you please sit down to do that"? Let me tell you, I DESPISE BEING CALLED MAAM. I am not a senior citizen, ok? Second, another girl was called up after me and got to sign her papers without being told to sit down. To shorten up my review, I was there 45 minutes. I have an autoimmune disease that affects my joints, especially the SI joints in my low back and hips. It is horrendously uncomfortable to sit for 45 minutes plus, I'm in a room full of potentially sick people & I have an autoimmune disease, masks or not. The 10 minute lie .... that is why I will NEVER return to this facility (plus the girls at the desk whispering in Spanish about a patient who got angry with them). I would love to be able to leave a review under their new name of Akumin, but I never received a call to schedule an appointment. I waited 24 hours for a phone call and then called their office. The recording requested I leave my phone number and scheduling would call me. I did that. After about 10 minutes, I tried calling using my cell phone instead. I hung up after 1 hr and 13 minutes on hold for scheduling. I will absolutely NOT use them. read more

My doctor faxed my prescription to this office 4 times. Twice to the Supervisor's fax and twice to their main number. I called for a week straight asking if they received the fax and they told me no and to call back again. The morning of my appointment I called in again and they still did not have the prescription. I told them it was sent to the Supervisor twice. They said they would have her call me. Never received a call back to this day. I never showed for the appointment. Why would I? Now I see all the bad reviews on here and I'm glad it worked out the way it did. They've lost my business. read more

(Wellington office) this place has gone way downhill. They overbook all their appointments and I always end up waiting at least an hour to two hours after my scheduled appointment even for a simple chest x-ray. rediculous! Been going here 10 years and it is absolutely awful now was great for 7 years and now every time I go it gets worse. I booked an MRI of my knee upon arrival they said I booked for a mammogram even though I had just had one 3 months prior. Of course they had to squeeze me in an instead of telling me it would be 2 hours till they could do it they let me sit there for 2 hours in pain. I could have left and got lunch or did an errand or 2. The past 3 visits I have had I waited over and hour and up to 2 hours. Totally unacceptble!!! people are in pain or sick do they really think we want to wait 2 hours??? read more

My doctor sent them a referral at 10 and told me to call them for an appointment. I called them at 10:30 and left a message for all call back since they never answer the phone in person. At 2:30 I receive a call only to be told that it takes them 4-8 hours to retrieve a referral from their server. If you need a test quickly, don't call them. This company does not understand that patients are also customers that have other options. read more

Very unprofessional staff, from the person greeting you at the door to the staff inside who are very inconsiderate talking and yapping away in Spanish about their personal stuff when most in the room don't understand. Omg. I will never go back to this place. First, they had my name in the system spelled incorrectly, so it took awhile to find me, then when I went into the women's center area, they said they changed it in the system, but when they printed out my paperwork the preprinted name on the forms was still wrong so I had to make all corrections. That was inconvenient however not the worst part of my visit. The absolute worst part of my visit and the reason I, not anyone I know who will listen, will ever go there again, was my ultrasound tech, MIRIAM. (At leash that is what the girl at the front told me her name was) So after all the paperwork stuff, "Miriam" called me up to the desk and gave me the bird degree about WHY I needed to have an ultrasound mammogram done, meanwhile my PCP had prescribed me a diagnostic mammogram, my very first one so I'm already uncomfortable and nervous, I would assume as a precaution since I am older and am trying to conceive. So here is Miriam, without so much as a "hello how are you today" immediately grilling me "is there history in your family?" "Why would the doctor have you come here" "did you feel a lump" "why would they have you have a mammogram" and I told her it was probably bc I was trying to have a baby, her response to that was a furrowed brow and her looking at me like I was crazy. Then she went into the consult area to show the referral/prescription I had from my doctor, to her office doctor. Then she came out walked right past me without a word, and then I got called up by reception to give my copay. I specifically asked the girl in the front to NOT give me that woman for my exam, as I was off-put by her attitude; but the other tech I guess went to lunch right before I got there. Lucky me, I was stuck with "Miriam" Well it was unpleasant to say the least- ZERO bedside manner. She didn't speak a word to me besides once again if my doctor had said anything about me having dense breasts - again questioning me about why I was having this done. Then when I had her stop for a min bc it was hurting me (my breasts are ultra sensitive) she still didn't say anything and just continued on. She never once attempted to make any pleasantries or make me feel comfortable, and when t was over just handed me a stack of paper towels without a word. Needless to say, I will be posting this on any and all social media I can, I will be calling to complain, and will never be back to Independent Imaging again. read more

Update: I went to midtown imaging on SR 7 in royal palm. Had a 130 appt, arrived at 120. By 130 I was done with my xray and back in my car. With nobody attempting to collect copays I don't have and trying to charge me for scans my insurance covers at 100%. Guess I know where I will be coming for future imaging needs. read more

MRIs have always been a problem. I can not tolerate being in closed places. There were no problems today at Independent Imaging. Everyone was kind, courteous and professional. I was put into the open MRI scanner with ear plugs and assurance that the staff was right there for me if I should have any problem. I felt comfortable and secure, the scan went just fine. The facility was clean and pleasant. Independent Imagining is a first class facility. read more

This place makes you wait for hours. Their waiting room is full of about 50 patients. I had to pick up a drink for a test, Waited at the desk/door for 10 min. no one even acknowledged me. Finally I tell the woman at desk, she tells me to sign in and have a seat. I told her I was here to pick up a drink... I said never mind, Im leaving. She replied, Oh OK. I have been for tests at two different radiology establishments in WPB, They never treat patients like this. I will never go back to Independent Imaging! read more

I have always gone there for all my diagnostics test granted there are times I wait longer then I would like but no different to the other diagnostic centers that I have gone to. The most impressive thing is the tender care they showed my mother when she went there for her exams. We get mad for the wait but fail to realize that there is an older population that they deal with and is not as easy for them to move around. I would never trade them . Scheduling department gave incorrect info about scheduling spine Xray. I called next day and scheduled an 8:30 appointment. Told it was 9:00 appointment when I arrived. Then I was told that I would not be taken in until 930 because the x-ray department was in the process of an hour long x-ray that was scheduled for 830. Receptionist told me that yes their scheduling department was atrocious. There are plenty of other x-ray facilities; I will never return to this one. Oh and when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was taken to a waiting area but the supervisor never showed up. Unbelievable on all counts. read more

If there were a zero, I would check it. That is based on TRYING to arrange an appointment when requests were faxed by my doctor a week ago!!. After SIX phone calls to everywhere but the moon....my doctors office had to send, for the fourth time, another fax and request Independent to call me and schedule an apt ASAP. It has been over an hour since my doctors office said Independent would be calling me "in a few minutes" and still no phone call!!!. After all of this, if I have to wait more than 30 minutes to begin my appointment, I will walk out!! My experience so far has been dreadful just trying to schedule the appointment and there is no reason for them to make their patients wait a ridiculous amount of time. Terrible service! I have been here multiple times and they get worse every time. They will give you hassle in every way and who ever they hired for checking in Patients could not be ruder. If you go here you better verify 100% that they don't mess up your charge ( just took me five calls to confirm what was no issue with other providers) or that they won't misinform you about your appointment time because three people confirmed my appointment yet in the end the system had me in wrong and I had to get lectured and endure the wrath from check- in lady. And no I did not even receive any apology for anything, I was just rudely told that I have to wait for a long time since all was obviously my fault and I could be glad they could see me. I was supposed to have a PET/CT SCAN , last Tuesday 2/4 but they called me last minute to reschedule cause they didn't get the approval from the insurance , after a month that I have the appointment, so I went today 2/11 to do it and after they called me yesterday everything was ok , I get there and asked me for the doctors referral ?????? How she knows what test she have to make if she doesn't have the doctors order ?????, that sucks , then this woman that was at the front door tells me that she wil do me a favor to used and old order from last year . Really !!!! I don't need no favor !!! I need to be taken care , so I left , I don't thing is correct I'm paying and no need no favors .....just need to be taken care !!!!! I dont understand the negativity. We set up an appointment. They called to reconfirm and explained the process. We arrived on time, they had us fill out paperwork, to make sure it was correct. We did the first step of the procedure. It took an hour. Did the second step, and needed to wait 3 hours, lunch. And when we returned, they were searching for us. Professional, courteous and very kind. My mom has needs and they helped the entire time. I would recommend this place to anybody that makes an appointment and follows the directions given for what ever procedure. read more

The only reason I'm giving this organization two stars is because of the technician that performed my scan. She was honest and totally professional. However, the rest of the visit was horrific. I waited 43 minutes before I approached the desk. They looked puzzled I was there and a man rudely said that my appointment was at 2pm not 2:30. I was accepted at 2:30 as on time with the receptionist, so that was a lie. In the 43 minutes I waited I had to use the bathroom as the copious amounts of water I was told to drink made me ill. When I arrived with the technician, she asked if I also was having a bladder scan and when I said no, she said the water wasn't necessary for a kidney scan. I told her I was just following directions. When I finally was done, I noticed a phone call message...I was Independent Imaging cancelling my appointment and an hour later they called to ask: "Did we see you today?" Don't take your life in your hands, stay away from this dreadful place. read more

My insurance changed to this facility a few years ago.. i was skeptical but they are awesome. Between me and family we have had XRays, MRIs, CTs, Mammos and Ultrasound - was just there with my daughter for a brain MRI w/contrast.. they were so kind and compassionate. I don't think I've met a person there that was anything but nice and professional. They are organized, CLEAN, and the facility is very comfortable. They offer lockers, changing areas, comfortable seating, TV if you wish to look and beverages in the women's facility. They always take good care of you - keep up the good work ! read more

The staff were professional enough in dealing with me, however I arrived at 11:25 for a 11:45 appointment for an ultra sound. when it was 12:20 I asked what the holdup was and no one could tell me, but they said I'm next and it shouldn't be more than a couple of minutes. At 12:45 I said enough was enough, give me back my co-pay and my script and that was it. They couldn't offer me a reason that I had to wait so long. read more
