They said they would not be able to start the project for about 3 months and I said that would be perfect timing; I only needed an estimate within a week. I told them I would be cancelling my original estimate since they came over so quickly, so I would really need their estimate. I have called them over half a dozen times and left messages with no response. Since there have been issues with phone service for the past 3 weeks, understandably there was a good possibility that they never even received my messages. Today, three weeks later, I again called the main number and texted the man who did the estimate. When I still received no answer, I called their emergency line explaining that although this is not an emergency, I thought that maybe they did not receive my previous messages and could she please relay the message. I went so far as to say that I know this is not an emergency as I am a RN and it's not life or death, but again, no one has returned a call or message in 3 weeks so perhaps they did not receive my previous messages. That said, I received a very nasty text from them saying that it was very offensive to them to inquire on their "emergency line" (the only line where someone answers the phone) that I expect a phone call back after 3 weeks of them doing the initial estimate and how "Christian" they are! So let me respond from the Bible, Proverbs 15:1: "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Christian IS as Christian DOES. I would not recommend this company.

I trust business owners who have a sense of humor. I called and the receptionist was nice and personable and answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. She said they wouldn't do a job for under 100$, totally cool because it's still better than the headache and backache of renting a rug doctor at Von's and doing it yourself, (and probably not even doing a very good job.) I needed my carpets done asap and they were able to get to my place in under 24 hours from when I called! I was at work and I left a key under my mat and 100$ cash. The stains on my floor were just horrific, I didn't think it was possible to get them out, but somehow he did! My carpets look and feel brand new, it's unbelievable. Coming home to that is better than having gotten a manicure, pedicure and massage combined and less than half the price! Then there was the note he left me and the fact he went above and beyond with my bathroom rug and the fact he didn't even take full payment! Polis I contacted Polis Handyman at the recommendation of a…read moreneighbor the morning of October 19,2022, after a fire caused by a shorted out heating pad in a plastic dog house on our deck. Fortunately, the Scott County Fire Department responded quickly and extinguished the fire just before flames reached the attic. The next day, Sam Richardson came out to examine the damage and make a repair estimate. He returned on the 24th with the estimate met with the insurance adjuster. This meeting resulted in a more thorough and complete repair estimate and insurance settlement. On the 26th, a Polis team came out and sealed the window, which had blown out during the fire. This action was extremely important for us considering the sub-freezing temperatures at the time. Sam scheduled repairs to begin on a 10-day time frame beginning on November 28th. Polis teams completed repairs and clean up on schedule, in spite of cold temperatures and outside work. I feel very fortunate to have contracted Polis. The photos are an indication of the quality of their work. Polis is a family-owned business. Sam quickly assessed our needs and reacted quickly to complete repairs. I highly recommend this business. Sam Richardson has considerable experience in home repair and construction. His employees are very competent and committed to timely-job completion.
