Do yourself a favor and stop and get some Fry Bread. They have sweet, ground beef and plain. We tried them all. Soooo good!!! The owner uses his Grandmas recipe and he was very kind! 10 stars. Also, Jonny, the guy that gave one because they weren't open is what is wrong with this world. Dude get a life.

    Fry Bread. WOW!! So good.

We saw signs for Indian Fry Bread off the I-40 and decided to try something new. The Indian Arts Center has a gift shop that sells a variety of Native American gifts. We were more interested in trying the Fry Bread. There is a small window outside where you order your food, a woman stands behind a screen and takes your order. CASH ONLY! This was our first experience trying Fry Bread. We were not disappointed. This is what they offer: Fry Bread $3 - Plain - Powder Sugar - Cinnamon - Honey Taco $6 - Meat - Cheese - Beans - Tomato Wrapped in Fry Bread We tried two Fry Breads: Powder Sugar and Honey. Both were amazing but we preferred the Powder Sugar. What we really wanted was to try the Tacos. We arrived here around 10am, unfortunately the woman said they wouldn't be ready for another 35 mins. So we didn't have a chance to try the tacos. Hopefully next time we can. Conclusion: Indian Fry Bread is a crispy, flaky goodness that you must try. It is so good.

When you see the sign along the 40 freeway advertising the Indian Fry bread, take the exit. We had the Indian Fry Bread Tacos which were excellent!

The fry bread was so light and fluffy and he made it on the spot kneading the dough and cooking it on the spot.

Ok like I always say people you got to get outside and enjoy life!…read more This totally unique store is located on the Zuni Indian reservation a very proud people of the mesa's of North Eastern NM"s desert. If you know history you will know who the Zuni Indians are, the history and UFOS! Anyways my travels had taken me to this trading post to look for some treasure for my Girls back home. We drove for a bit until we found this store off the highway. This is no mall OK its a building with no frills. Anyways if your looking for any type of treasures made by real Indians not Hindus from India OK real American Indians. This is as real as it gets, also when you visit these reservations the people are very proud so don't act like a honky! be respectful. The place has about the widest selection of gifts and art work like pottery, jewelery of all types, hand painted dolls, just a nice place to look around and press your nose to the glass and get your shopping groove on! and get this the place is owned by a real cool guy named Mohammad Safieh and I'm not pulling your leg its totally true, is that something else or what people. The guy will offer you a cool drink, take it, the temps get above 100 so as always drink lots of fluids. Anyways when in Zuni for a ride or drive please stop in and ask for Mohammad! if your looking for some high quality Indian art. I say Check them out!

I highly recommend because the Natives are licensed for permits to sell in Santa Fe. The jewelry is authentic and high quality stones and metals . I recommend paying with cash (service fee card) . Vendors are mostly kind. Their self made products, mostly with turquoise are wonderful. The opaque, blue-to-green turquoise is a mineral. Persian stones from Nishapur (of Iran) is used as a guiding reference for evaluating turquoise quality. Navajo and Hopi tribes are known to produce high quality turquoise jewelry. The top two of the following 4 kinds of turquoise are widely used in Santa Fe area: Sleeping Beauty Turquoise  Kingman Turquoise  Bisbee   Royston  They (including the stores as well) prize Sleeping Beauty for its consistent sky-blue color. However, it's no longer being mined (?), while Kingsman has brilliant blue color, but it isn't as precious as SL due to the fact that they're still abundantly being mined. One native vendor explained how the program work: They've a committee, to determine the eligibility (sometimes vendor has to go before the committee to demonstrate their skills - like making a piece). The covered corridor has 63 spaces, each marks with a white number. If the vendors are more than the spaces, they'll have to do a lottery, which means a particular vendor may not come tomorrow. In General, a particular vendor doesn't come everyday.  On the last day there, I purchased a bracelet from a generous man, who explains the logos are his name and his daughter's. When I pay, he tells me a less amount voluntarily. I was a little hesitate. Although I like bargains and discounts, but I don't ask for it with small vendor, especially with the artist him or herself.  "Are you sure?" I asked. Actually I was not 100% sure what he had quoted me earlier.  "Yes, it looks so nice on your wrist." I paid what he asked. Thank you.

There were only 3 children signed up for the "Kids Clay workshop", so there was plenty of opportunity for the teacher to provide one-on-one attention to them. There was not much direction or instruction from the teacher on how to prepare the clay or proper painting technique to use on clay. She did demonstrate how to attach items to clay by scraping. For this age, we felt there should have been more instruction on designing of the objects and directions on how to paint the clay, so when fired, the color would be more vibrant. The color of the completed pieces was very washed out, almost if they had been just painted with water color. The teacher said the project would be ready in 7 to 10 days and that we would receive a text when the pieces were ready to pick up. It took 21 days and we were never notified for pick-up. We had to personally check 3 times to see if project had been completed and was ready to pick up. Very disappointed in the service after paying over $80 for the class.
