The menu has a good variety, though the dishes felt more comforting than standout. A solid option if you're nearby, but not necessarily a place you'd go out of your way for. Food: The curries had good flavor and spice levels, but were a little oil-heavy for my preference. Portions were fair, and the dishes came out fairly quickly. Some items stood out more than others, but overall the food was enjoyable without being particularly memorable. Service: Service was efficient despite the busy crowd. Staff were polite and managed the small space well, though at peak hours it can feel a bit rushed because of how packed the restaurant gets. Ambience: The restaurant has a traditional Indian theme with old Maharaja portraits and classic décor elements throughout. The space is on the smaller side, and the décor can feel a bit overcrowded, making it slightly cramped during busy times. Still, it has a lively atmosphere that fits the tourist-heavy Circular Quay area.

Being the first to arrive right when they opened for dinner, my dinner partner and I were able to experience the decor, and have the place to ourselves. Everything was bright and colorful, and it appeared that things were new-ish / redone, and I felt good being in this space. There was some Indian music videos playing on the big screen and the nice beats combined with Indian dance parties (as Indian music videos usually go) created an upbeat happy atmosphere. We were greeted warmly, and seated in a great spot at the window overlooking the shops and street. So far, so good. There was a very cute, new waitress being trained and she was shadowing the Indian woman who looked to be the boss. Both were friendly and helpful. We received our water and they asked for our drink order straight away. After taking some time to look at the menu, we found some tasty looking lamb saag and chicken tikka masala. Add in an order of basmati rice and naan, and I was starting to anticipate an amazing meal. I was hoping that the food lived up to the experience so far. They did not disappoint. The food came out in about 10 to 15 minutes and was fresh, smelled amazing, and was cooked to perfection. The lamb was tender and juicy, and complimented the saag nicely. The chicken tikka masala had a perfectly spiced tomato based sauce. After creating a base of rice and adding each dish on top of the rice, it was one of tastiest Indian meals I've had in a long time. There was plenty left over after having two people eating some of both dishes. Feeling very full and satisfied, we got the rest packaged for some take away, and finished everything off with perfect tasting Chai tea, with a bit of milk and sugar. Epic meal. Epic service. Great atmosphere. If you want Indian food, go here. If you like the FOOD of this place as much as I did, leave a great review. The other reviews I've seen were from long ago and do not reflect the current reality of this place.
