I've been going to Wile's since I can remember. It was a traditional stop for my family on our…read moreweekly drives to and from our cottage every summer. And now that I have a family of my own, it's a traditional stop for my husband and I (and ALL of our friends!). This market started off as a produce market, selling fruit and veggies from the Wile's farm, and a bakery. Eventually the shop started to expand to include not only the bakery, but also other local produce, a huge garden centre and a gift shop. They've also recently added an area with "comfort food to go". All the recipes used in the bakery are just the same now as they were when the place opened in 1985! And they're FANTASTIC! They're baking from the time they open in the morning until it's all gone in the evening. Everything is delicious, and made in-house - you can even look through the window and see into the kitchen where they're baking up new treats! We love stopping by on the way to the cottage to grab all our fresh fruits, veggies and baked goods. The ladies that work the cash are so helpful, kind and funny. They always remember a face (maybe not your name though!). Stop by Wile's next time you're on your way to Keji (it's on the route, just past exit 13!) or if you're in that end of the province and grab some of their delicious white,brown or raisin bread or a fantastic molasses cookie or freshly baked pie. You will NOT be disappointed!

There are constant 'flash' sales with random items on sale for a ridiculously low price. Follow their social media pages to find out how to get a deal. The only downside to this place is the amount of plastic wrap waste is used in the store. Literally every item is slapped in plastic so it's very discouraging. If they can get swat from thus significantly wasteful problem, this would be the best place in the neighbourhood.

One very special thing about Hennigars is that it's open 7 days a week all year round. True, there is less produce in the winter, but it's still treat to visit. And you can always pick up some of their homemade apple cider - direct from their apple orchard. Right next door, on their farm you'll find some great parkland and trails to hike all summer long. Imagine the delicious picnic with goodies from the market for stops along the way.

Thick cut, and I swear it loses less weight when it's cooked; not sure if this is because it's less fatty than regular commercial bacon or if that stuff is water chilled, but I'd say you're getting more bang for your buck in both quality and quantity. I think it clocks in at $8/lb. The breakfast sausages were a substitute for me when they were out of bacon on a recent visit. They have a fairly mild seasoning to them, and not quite that typical breakfast sausage flavour, which I am admittedly a sucker for. They're a bit more coarsely ground than most sausages, and could use a bit more fat added in as they are a bit on the dry side for a sausage.$7/lb. I picked up a batch of maple-cured English bacon on my last visit, which I'm looking forward to trying! Your more basic cuts of meat are fairly reasonably priced, but be ready to suffer some damage to your wallet if you're getting any of the high end cuts.

I highly recommend the apple rosemary sausage. They also have maple sausage and banger sausage. You can see them cutting the meat in front of you so you know it's fresh. Their website goes into detail how they raise their cows and why it's better for the environment and the cows. I am happy to support this business at the Farmer's Market. Taken from their website about the importance of eating grass fed beef: "Grass-fed beef and lamb are now considered a health food of the highest order. Compared to grain-finished meats, it is higher in omega-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, and especially conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), an essential fatty acid largely missing from modern diets and found almost exclusively in the dairy and meat products of grass-eating ruminants (cattle, sheep, and goats)."
