Beautiful spot in an accessible location with a few different greenhouses to browse through. No houseplants and very limited perennial selection. They do carry large bags of soil, manure and wood medium at a really great price. Overall, their prices are much more reasonable than many of the other greenhouses. They will often have free coffee from local roaster Wheelhouse Coffee on site as well as cookies and other snacks. A very friendly place and worth stopping in despite being a little bit of a detour.

I was rudely awoken on Sunday by the sounds of dueling chainsaws at 7:30 AM. By 11 AM, our…read morequasi-inebriated neighbours, whose backyard abuts ours, had chopped down the lovely natural property dividers. In effect, they had cut down about 8 full bushes and mature trees to use as firewood. Oh, it was on. Fuming that we now had a very clear view of their litter-strewn yard, we headed out to Lakeland to see if we could recover what once was a beautifully treed-in hammock oasis. Both of the employees working there that day were aghast at our situation, and more than happy to help us fight back. They made so many helpful suggestions on what types of shrubs to get and what to avoid for our area. They informed us on how to plant and maintain our new tree line. We left with several new bushes, and even some berry plants so that I can enjoy some fresh fruit from my patio next season. They also gave us wonderful tips on where to find some naturally grown sapplings to grow our own Maples. Their wonderful service helped us turn our day around. Thanks to them, we've foiled our neighbour's plan to make more room for, what we can only assume, their growing 1989 Mustang car part collection. We'll have our lush backyard back in no time thanks in no small part to Lakeland.

As a child I LOVED going to Lakeland Plant World, especially at Christmas time because of their whimsical winter wonderland. More recently, I've enjoyed visiting in order to buy plants - some of which have been investments of both time and money - $100 tropical trees anyone? Lakeland has everything, from shrubs, evergreens and perennials to shovels, soil and garden gnomes. In the summer, perusing the outdoor assortment is lovely, with lots of rose bushes in bloom and bees-a-buzzin' - plus, their employees are oh so knowledgeable and helpful. In an attempt to head to Wolfville for brunch several weeks ago a couple (also originating out of…read moreprovince) girlfriends and myself found ourselves not so unpleasantly lost at Springvale Nurseries. We were able to make with quite the haul after perusing the interior portion of this shop for about half an hour. Hundreds of seed packages depending on whether you simply want to add a touch of colour to that vacant lot down the street, or make a full attempt at growing your own lettuce, carrots and pumpkins. Lots of house plants ready for the taking as well. I headed off with three Dahlia packages all of which were planted inside to start and have now reached at least a foot high in three weeks! Very impressed with this cute little nursery. They even obliged with directions.

SO I say ok no problem. I walk ALLLLLL the way to the desk just to be told "you can't pay here this is returns only" I was so pissed so I said yeah whatever just let me pay. The young female who was holding a PINK PHONE pissed me off so bad. Never will I be back. And how am I supposed to pay at the cash when you have no one working there. F@#$ THAT!!!!!!!
