There are several family owned locations for Indian Kitchen and we have been to all of them. Each menu is a little different ( depending on the family member?) but all are fantastic. We've had Indian food in NY, Toronto, Vancouver, all over North America and Indian Kitchen is marching to the top of our list. Although one may find fancier decor, you will not beat the flavor! This is the most authentic Indian food in Medicine Hat. Since I'm from Greater Vancouver BC that there are lot of good and authentic Indian food because the Indian population there. My husband and I went to the mango tree ( since our friends said it was the best ) and we come to Indian kitchen a few times. I would say I prepare Indian kitchen more than other Indian restaurants here. The taste is way more authentic in the way they make it but it was a bit salty. However, they were very helpful and willing to reduce the salt. The space isn't as fancy as the mango tree but the food's great! I love their lamb curry and their okra curry. They are the best I ever tried so far...includes all the Indian restaurants I tried in Vancouver BC. You can really taste the spices and sweetness of the onion. Price are a bit higher then the mango tree but they have more options for people who are doing gluten free and dairy free diet. ( and we didn't need to wait almost an hour for our food! That was our experience in The Mango Tree! ) The servers' English was well enough for us to communicate about our allergies and also they were pretty friendly. What an exceptional experience. Serving staff answered all my questions, very curtious, and friendly. Food was simple outstanding and pleasant, will recommend both the vegitable samosa as an appy and mushroom mutter with garlic nann bread. My wife and I enjoy a good curry and we have been lucky enough to have been able to try curries around the world during our work and travel away from Medicine Hat. The best ones have actually been in the UK. With that context, I would place Indian Kitchen in Medicine Hat in the top 5 curries I have ever had. We have eaten there a few times now and the food is consistently excellent, flavourful and lovingly prepared.
