Granted we were here the week of Christmas but we practically had the beach to ourselves. At the "retreat" it's just as they advertised a large gravel parking area designed for a class A camper to pull in (leaving the entrance on the right side of the unit). Pulling a trailer in will mean you back out, it also means that you may have to do a little fancy stuff to get your tow vehicle out from under your unit to run into town. We are about 48' combined and we fit without any issues. It's about 15 minutes to the closest fuel spot but just about 5 minutes to a great restaurant and general store with average selection of supplies.

We took our coffee to the beach early each morning before breakfast and took a stroll on the beach with our dogs every evening (yep, the beach is dog friendly). This site has colorful chairs around a fire pit and mature palms giving it a tropical vibe. Short drive to downtown Port St Joe where we enjoyed live music by Chris Godber at the Sister's Bistro. This was just one of the dining spots we tried, all good. This was the most relaxing vaca I've had in years. We will definitely return.

People should remember that before posting a bad review after choosing a park right off an interstate. That being said the further away the site the less likely you will be bothered by the noise. Vonda the owner is a very hard working person and does a wonderful job maintaining the grounds. She has a few pull through sites and three of them open up to a beautiful grassy area with shade trees. We chose one off these. All with full hook up. We are lucky enough to trust that our dogs would behave if off leash for short periods while we were outside with them. We have stayed three nights both times and just enjoyed the simplicity of the park. If you are looking for laundry facilities, showers and a pool this isn't your place.... If it is reasonable prices in a lovely setting is then give it a try.

It is always going to be 5 star review for the Resort but this time if this review was for the Ranger I would give a ONE star because he has decided to not buy dog poop bags and some people just don't clean up after their dogs if you don't provide the basics because they are not prepared and I don't blame them because you expect to find bags like in ANY other Florida State Park to find poop bags all over. Now instead there is dog sh!t in some places that the Ranger should go and pick it up himself just because he is trying to save money to finish construction of his new office and moving resources from one budget item to another is not the solution, please poop bags are a must Mr Ranger, adhere to your budget and buy some bags so whoever is unprepared can clean up after their dog.

There is not much shade in campground but the bayfront sites give a nice view of the bay and the beautiful sunsets. Lots of places to fish offshore and walk out in the water. The boat dock also has places to fish. Lots of catfish to be caught from the pier! There is a fish cleaning station for your daily catch. There is a pool but we didn't use it so I can't comment on that amenity. Pet friendly and there is a laundry facility, but $4 to wash a load was too expensive for me, so I went downtown to a laundromat. Only complaint is the wifi is really bad, but no big deal. We had a blast on the pontoon! Grocery and the beaches of Cape San Blas are really close by. Some really good restaurants too.

Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, including our neighbor who lives there fulltime and made us feel very welcome.
