Anyways, I was able to get into seeing Dr. Amy Iddins within a few days. The scheduling was incredibly easy and direct. All of this was very important to me- I've had emergency eye surgery for a rare glaucoma and I don't take lightly who I see for my eyes! The office staff were incredibly friendly and a pleasure to see! The technology they've invested in is fantastic. The Dr. was excellent! She listened, gave great advise (saving me from future trauma even), and then went above and beyond to order me trial contact lenses- What I absolutely loved was not only that the service and care was wonderful, but I got those trials in exactly a week and all I needed to do was swing by and pick them up. I'm very happy I moved to see Dr. Iddin and her team. You will be too!!

I was in and out within 30 minutes, with clear expectations of when to expect my glasses I was also able to call back in the office to have a team member help update an invoice for me so I could submit to my FSA - this was done over the phone, and she immediately offered solutions instead of excuses.

The nurses told me about taking pictures of my retina but that's on top of the regular eye exam. I thought I didn't need it since I was young so I declined to pay $40 or something. There was no negative feeling from the nurse at all. Then I had the check-up with the doctor. Conversation flowed nicely. Again I didn't feel rushed nor did I feel like the doctor was more interested to talk then to check my eye. The eye exam itself went by efficiently. Then she asked me if I had any other injuries. I said yes, I think there was a scar at the back of my eye. She then told me it's better for her to look at my eye with the retina picture (I think that's what it was called) because she wants to make sure my vision is fine. However she told me there will be no charge. THIS IS A DOCTOR THAT CARES ALOT MORE ABOUT HER PATIENTS than money. Because she's worried & insisted on seeing it, she does not want a $40 to stand in the way. I'm so glad I found her & her clinic when my eyes are in distress. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor & the staff. I came in with extreme eye pain & was very freaked out & scared. The staff there was very understanding, efficient & nice. The form was filled out quickly & we waited for about 15min or so. Then the nurse came in, lead us to a room & wrote down my symptoms. I didn't feel rushed or being questioned too much. Then 5 min later, dr.Burford came in. She was very gentle but firm when she put in eye drops for me. Told me what it was for, & explained everything thoroughly. Then she took careful & thorough look at my eye. After she told me I had 70% cornea abrasion, & assured me it would heal in 3-4 days. Talked in a way that made my worries go away, & reassured me that I would still be able to see. Then she wanted to see me for follow-up after, but my husband works & no one can drive me. Her staff gave me a call the next day, asked how I was doing & even offered to pick me up for my follow up. I thought it got better, so I didn't want to trouble them. Then in the afternoon it began hurting again. So I sent her a message, and she saw me after hours. And she said she wants to see the next day too even if it's after they close to make sure we catch any sign of an infection early. She's just so kind & understanding, and just very responsible as a doctor. I'm so lucky I found her on Yelp.

She would even remember that I liked coffee and mentioned it to the receptionist to make sure she made me a cup. What doc does that? One that cares for her patients. I go about 1x a year nowadays for a check in, and have continued to get great care from all the Drs Busby, Feipel & Ray. Also they offer a free eye checkup for babies. Dr. Ray was great with my kiddo and had a fun little light up toy so she wasn't frightened during the exam. They are a great asset to the community.

Kim and Tony were super helpful, warm, and welcoming through the entire process. EOM has a variety of frames to choose from, some are pretty eclectic/ eccentric, but they also have more conventional / standard frames which is what I went with. I went to pick up my new lenses for my glasses today after waiting over two weeks for the new lenses to be done. Erica told me the lenses did not fit my glasses and they had to be retraced in order for a new set of lenses to be ordered, which is going to take another two weeks!! Why was this not done correctly the first time??!!! Last year, I had to get a new set of glasses and lenses and the lab scratched my lenses and I had to wait about three and a half weeks to get the glasses!! When I did finally get the glasses, the lenses were scratched up!! I had to get the lenses fixed again!! This is ridiculous and unacceptable! The only reason I am still coming here is because of Dr. Megan Avilia, the optometrist. She is delightful and a pure joy to be around. Unfortunately, it looks like I am going to have to find another optometrist. I am not going to put up with this anymore. The location needs to find new professional staff to work in the lab who know what they are doing. I would not recommend this particular location for your vision care. Located by the Palladium in Carmel, this place is in a nice brick building that has a private parking lot out front. I walked in, had to fill out paperwork and then was called back for my appointment. They did all of the normal tests and the girl who was getting basic info from me before the doctor came in was incredibly friendly and easygoing. The doctor was very personable and helpful as well, and even showed me the photos of my eyes and described every little part of them and what to look for. He also went beyond prescribing a prescription and gave me intelligent information on new 'anti fatigue' glasses that are supposed to help the eye strain most people are now experiencing after looking at computers all day and let me know my Lasik options. Tip: He said that Indy has one of the best Lasik surgeons in the entire country, so be sure to go to him if you get it done and not some place that is cheap (he said each eye should be about $2000 and if it's less than that, you should be concerned). Good to know! The icing on the cake was the woman who checked me out and ran through my insurance afterwards. Not only was she able to tell me exactly what my insurance covers in terms of contacts/glasses, but she also had my year-long contact order in stock and brought them out to me in a cute bag. So happy I don't have to make a trip back! Also, with the $200 rebate they came with, I'll be getting contacts for the cheapest I've ever gotten them which is awesome.

During the exam we reviewed images and discussed strategy to deal with my dry eyes. My styling appointment had a ton of styles and colors based on my input. I ended up making my own design with the line of frames that could be customized which was so much fun. They picked out a pair of sunglasses that was absolutely PERFECT to for my face, as well. After picking up my completed frames, it took a little while to get the fit right, my ears are different heights, but they stuck with it until it was perfect for my face. Upon entry you are given a drink menu ranging from alcoholic drinks to different coffee beverages, and are made sure that you are comfortable until seen for your eye exam or styling appointment. I had a very smooth and positive eye exam! I was also fitted for contacts for the first time today, and left with so much confidence on what to do and how to use them. They ensured a proper fit, that I had a good technique on how to get them in/out, and helped me practice multiple times before leaving. They also were able to replace my current glasses lenses (not purchased from Alternate View) which was so nice! I genuinely don't have one negative experience from my visit, which is so rare! I'm also happy to report that everyone was so wonderful with my professionally trained service dog. They welcomed me & my pup with such warmth, and accommodated us in each room we entered throughout my appointment. Though it's never easy having a dog enter a small business, they were so wonderful! I will definitely be returning :)
