Be prepared to get a little dusty, and wear your sunscreen if it is sunny outside. You will see many sun burnt people as this event is several hours long in the sun. With over 80+ breweries and eight different sections of the maze, this event feels much more open/enjoyable than other beer fests where the vendors are squished together. There is also a ton of parking (you are in the middle of no-where) and they give people an option to camp overnight if you think you may over-indulge.

This 21+ event was a lot of fun on a perfect, sunny, 70 degree fall day. We came as a group of seven and the first time for all. If you've never been before the main attraction is over 80 of the nation's best breweries scattered out among 10 numbered canopy stations throughout an 11-acre corn maze. As you enter the maze your given a limited edition souvenir glass for unlimited samples of beer all day long. Each of 10 canopy stations had 8-10 different breweries providing unlimited samples to all. Inside the maze, Station 1 had 450 North Brewing samples plus live music playing on an additional stage kicking off the party atmosphere. It was nice having this large crowd broken into smaller, controlled groups than one large overwhelming area. People had the option of starting at different stations so the crowd dispersed quickly. Some of the lines were long but moved quickly and groups moved freely from one station to the next. A map was provided listing which breweries were at each station number so you wouldn't miss the breweries you wanted to visit. Much appreciated were tubs of free water and sodas throughout the maze and on the main grounds. Thank you for providing free water all day. Outside of the corn maze was the main stage, a beer garden and a huge tent with tables and chairs for dining, shade and rest. Along Food Alley were food trucks offering sliders, 3 different bbq trucks and a pretzel vendor. The Simmons Winery (next door to the 450 North restaurant and brewery) was also pouring wine and cider at the 450 North tent. The corn maze closed at 5:00 p.m. but an after party with live music (Sundance Head) played from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. keeping the party going. All ages were welcomed from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Check out tickets next year at 450 North Brewing Company's website. VIP tickets, general admission and designated driver tickets were available. VIP tickets get you entry 1 1/2 hours before general admission guests. They sell out quickly!! What a fun day and a great way to sample breweries from across the nation all in one location.

We attended the Indiana fingerstyle guitar festival and were blown away by the talent of the…read moreguitarists. I am sure that the judges struggled with selecting 3 finalists from 18 contestants. The star of the evening program was Muriel Anderson, the first woman to win the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship. She serenaded the audience with the music from her 21-string harp guitar. We are definitely returning to this annual festival next summer.

Had an absolute blast attending the second night of the LCF17. We went to see Fortune Feimster at…read morethe Buskirk. The opening acts were hilarious too. Fortune had everyone laughing and her interaction with the audience was great. After the show she sold her own merch in the lobby, signed autographs and posed for photos. This was our first time attending the Limestone Comedy Fest and we are hooked. Looking forward to next year. Thinking getting the multi-show pass next year would be a great idea.

Best beer festival in southern Indiana . . . hands down…read more 48 brewery guests + 3 food vendors + live local music + good parking + a map of the booths + a steel sampling cup + plenty of shade and places to sit all in the cozy setting of Mill Race Park. They always do a great job of getting folks checked in and have plenty of staff / security buzzing around taking care of the nitty gritty. See you next year.

Puppets! Marionettes! Halloween! Oh my!…read more My wife and I took our 3 and 5 year old kids to Nashville a Friday in October to walk and explore. One of the stops was the Melchior Marionette Theatre. I was great fun. It is located right on the main strip of Van Buren Street. The cost is $5 per person - I think two and under are free. The show lasts about 20 minutes and it is well worth the cost. The woman who put it on exhibits a sense of love of her work. The show was very entertaining. Since we were there in October, the theme was a haunted puppet show (slightly haunted - not scary at all). Additionally, there is free popcorn for everyone! Loved the show, the art and the enthusiasm of the owners.

What a cool place to explore right on campus!…read more I've passed the Jordan Hall Greenhouse I don't even know how many times. This place is a real hidden gem attached to Jordan Hall on 3rd Street. Parking is a pain as there is only very limited street parking, but it is totally worth it. It's a greenhouse, so it's definitely hot! Probably better visited during colder months but I ventured in during 84 degree weather and it was just fine. This place has a ton of plants to check out in rooms of various temperatures. We saw cotton plants, a pineapple tree and even got a look at Wally, the rare corpse flower that only blooms every 8-20 years. Thankfully it doesn't last long so we didn't smell that stench! I had a great time going between the different temperatures... it was fun to go from the dessert to the tropics in just a few steps. It's definitely a must visit in Bloomington if you love plants!

This ranch was perfect for our weeklong visit to see family in Bloomington. My adolescent girls…read morewere able to ride horses every other morning on various trails with Cowboy Wayne. Communication about scheduling was easy and the price was good. My 2 girls had very different levels of skill in riding and Wayne was able to assess which horses would suit their personalities. In addition, he taught them a few tips about horseback riding even though we were only requesting a trail ride. The tack room was impeccably organized. The humidity of Bloomington made the shaded trail rides both refreshing and invigorating for the girls. Each morning they rushed towards the barn for their ride and after each outing they came back happy, looking forward to playing with the old and young dogs who room to round the barn. We can't wait to go back.
