This NWish side gym is the best around. Nice equipment, staff, cleanliness, class offerings. But best of all, the locker rooms. Which include showers, separate whirlpools (for men/women), saunas, and steam rooms -- not to mention towel service! Personally, not a tennis player - but coming from a lot of friends that play - this is the spot! As they do not charge court time. You may pay slightly less at other area gyms, but I would still highly recommend this facility - with the amenities they offer. Easy access to I-65 -- less than 15 minutes from downtown!

The Healthplex reminds me of my old gym in Cali, the Monterey Sports Center. Minus the wharf and beach views of course. :P There are plenty of things to do to get your butt (or my big 'ole butt) into shape. Such as, the cardio area (you can find me on the treadmills w/TVs :P ), lap pool, therapy pool, 6 or so tennis courts, racked ball rooms, the indoor track, and they also have a lot of great weight machines. There are also spinning, step, pool aerobic, and stretch classes that are free. Free to members that is.. The woman's locker room is always clean and is always stocked with fresh towels. But wear your flip flops! And, who doesn't love a whirlpool, steam room, and sauna? Oh, another tip I can add is, avoid at 12:30-1:30. They have a swim summer camp and it's hard to relax in the whirlpool when there are 10 screaming pre-teens running around. Some cons are that membership is very expensive and while most classes are free, you unfortunately have to pay to take any of the yoga & pilates classes. But overall I'm happy with this gym. I'll be even more happy when I fit back into my skinny jeans. :P

This was my first time visiting community health plex and I was pleasantly surprised! I am a member to LA fitness, but I had a guest pass for the health plex. This was a much bigger facility than my LA fitness! There is a basketball court, free weights, cardio floor, swimming pool, wellness pool, fitness rooms, saunas, whirlpools, racquetball courts, and indoor tennis courts. There is definitely something for everyone. There is even a kids zone daycare type area, and a court side cafe' where you can get food and drinks. I came around 12:30 on a Friday, so it wasn't super crowded. I can however see this gym to be very crowded during after work hours. The upstairs is very nice and features the weights and indoor track. The workers here are all super friendly and ready to answer questions or help with whatever you need! I for sure would look into a membership here if it wouldn't cost me $59 a month.

I just recently joined this gym and I have to say, it's pretty great. As a beginner triathlete and gym user in general, finding a gym was pretty daunting, but when I toured the place, I was amazed at all of the different features they had! Here we go: A great lap pool and heated pool, a running track, very high tech cardio machines (spin bikes and treadmills with TV's, Internet access, etc.), great weight equipment, tennis courts, basketball courts, indoor running track, tons of free workout classes with your membership, separate hot tubs/steam rooms for men and women, large locker rooms with all the towels you'll ever need, hair dryers, lockers, a tv lounge area in the locker room, a cafe, a spa/nail/massage salon with good prices.....the list goes on and on. I'm getting all of this for 55 bucks a month. It's a steal! If you're interested in getting a tour or trying them out for a few days, talk to Kari!

I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

My fave part is using the massage chairs after my workouts. I pay 25 a month for everything. The lower membership doesn't have pool included. Fair price for what I use the gym for. Clean place, good music and good people.

At the time, my motivation and commitment to sticking to a gym routine was not where it needed to be. Self-Confidence was beyond low. I wasn't at my healthiest. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. It was very frustrating, but I knew I had to do something. Thanks to James, that something led me to the doors of Mas Aesthetics. Since then, I've never looked back or had any regrets. This gym and the personal trainers apart of it are what I needed to get my butt back into a gym routine. As of right now, I only go 3 days out of the week. I have noticed positive changes in myself physically AND mentally. I pay a very affordable price each month. They are flexible with scheduled payment dates within reason. This is honestly the cheapest price for personal training in Central Indiana. The certified personal trainers are friendly, welcoming, fun, non-judgmental and are very knowledgeable when it comes to exercise and nutrition. The personal trainers are very flexible when it comes to my workout schedules each week. With my busy full-time job, sometimes I can't come in when I want to and they are understanding with that, which I love. They value me as a client and know that life happens. The gym is small and intimate where the personal trainers can focus on YOU as a client. Never crowded. A nice, fun, nonintimidating gym atmosphere. Just FYI, there is only one restroom. There are no lockers, but they do have cubby holes. I've never had any issues with those minor things, though. If you are in search of personal training, this is the spot to go. I HIGHLY recommend!! If you are unsure about committing, why not try them out for FREE for an hour by booking your first free training session on their website here: https://www.masaesthetics.com/pricing. Orthoindy Foundation YMCA on 53rd and Lafayette Rd can't seem to get my billing strait. Whoever is in charge of billing needs to focus on what they are billing! They double billed me for my granddaughter and my membership accounts. When I caught the mistake I called them and was told they'd get back with me because their computers were down, but they never did. I went in the following day and they still couldn't get it right even though they admitted their mistake. After about 30 minutes or more of them trying to figure out how to correct the duplicate billing, and having to go through two people, I was told I would receive a refund. Then someone called me later and told me they couldn't give me a refund only credits to both accounts. That's certainly not the way they took my money. Giving me no choice, they told me no membership payments would be due until June. Well here we are still in May and they have taken out another membership payment on my granddaughter, and I have a suspicion they are going to take another one out on me. They keep taking money from me and not giving it back!!! I'm elderly, and on a fixed income. I am paying a lot of medical bills right now, raising a grandchild with no outside financial help, and now I have to deal with this incompetence. Do I have time to be messing with this every month, NO!! This all started because I would lock my card when I'm not using it and doing so would cause my YMCA payments to be declined. So I went into the branch and switched over to checking which would eliminate the problem. Well, instead of taking out the payments due from just my checking account, they charged my card as well which I had unlocked at the time. I can see this being a mistake the first time, but how does the same thing happen again? Tell Me!!! How do you keep taking peoples money and telling them you can only give it back in bottles ( credit) but not even honor that. I'd be charged with a crime if I repeatedly did that to them!
