If you are looking for a variety of equipment, a large space, and a good time then I highly recommend this gym. I have been to Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, and The Monon Community Center in the past year and a half... With that being said I can confidently say this is the best place for strength training. Best gym in Indy. Surprisingly big inside - like, really big! Ample cardio machines. Many, many options for weight lifting - 2 squat racks, 2 bench press, 1 incline press bench, 1 decline. At least 3 separate cable machines. And my favorite area, a room full of dumbbells and benches and barbells. This is not a health club. It is not a fitness center. It's a gym. A real gym, for real people who want to really work out. The equipment is not the newest or trendiest, but it is well maintained and high quality and there's plenty of it. Clean locker rooms. This is by far the best gym in the city for people who are looking for a real gym. Not some place were people hang out and chat or stare at people. They may not have all the fancy things the chain gyms have But what they do have is the BEST staff of any gym, they have the LARGEST and NICEST free weight selections, the LARGEST and BEST machine weights and a HUGE selection of cardio equipment. They have Yoga classes, Pilates, Zumba, Kick Boxing, Boxing, and a Spinning room with classes. There is a cornered off area for women only with weight machines geared for women and also gives women a private area to work out if they please. They have a babysitting area for those parents on the go. The locker rooms have plenty of lockers with the ability to rent a permanent locker. There are also private shower stalls and free hair/body wash dispensers. There are also a couple of tanning beds that you can pay for single time uses or packages. The membership is reasonable and the all the members are from all different walks of life and race it is a great mixed group of people who are all there for 1 reason and that is to exercise. Also everyone is super friendly and it is easy to make new workout buddies. It never really gets to crowded so you never have to wait for equipment and because there are so many selections you can mix up your workouts. I have been a member since 96 and some of my family members have been since the late 80's. It is the only gym for us in the city of Indianapolis. If you have any problems, Bill and Karen or Andrew are always there to help you. Weather it's a question about a machine or exercise or a question about your diet they know it all. I recommend this gym to everyone but especially for people that are serious about exercising and tired of crappy chain gyms that are out there. Support your small local business. A great gym with the right attitude. No pushy sales people who harass you. This is a gym for serious people. It doesn't matter your fitness level, the members come to workout, not to stand and model. They have a great variety of machines, usually in a minimum of 3 variations and plenty of free weights. Great squat cages as well. So glad I found this gym. read more

This is a 5-star gym, through & through. I was looking for a temporary gym for a week's stay in Indy & this is easily the best place in town. They gave me a great deal for a week long guest pass. It is a spacious environment with a nice range of equipment, not to mention it is exceptionally clean. The staff is very friendly, & so are the other members. Wow where to even begin with the great things I could say about Peak Fitness! This place has everything you could think you needed in a gym. The staff are all superb and will greet you by your name and are so open to talk about anything. The members are all so nice and have great gym etiquette such as cleaning up after themselves and re-racking weights. The facility itself is also kept so clean and maintained given how long the gym has been there itself. Peak is definitely a community I love being a part of and I have seen so much personal growth in myself physically and mentally because of putting myself in a positive environment that is there to help me reach my goals. Long story short, the rates and 24hr access are great, the staff is grand, the facility is clean with all the equipment you could dream of, and the community is definitely something everyone with a passion for fitness would appreciate being a part of. read more

Was in town for a week, and wanted to keep up with my heavy leg days, and HIIT cardio. Found Peak Performance Fitness through Yelp reviews - they had a really reasonable price for a week guest pass, and did a quick walkthrough before I committed. I can't remember the name of the guy at the front desk who helped me, but he was really chill and nice! Asked about the monthly rate too, which was way more reasonable than my current gym membership back home. So much variety in machines; you have your regular actual machines, tons and tons of them -cardio, stair steppers, ellipticals, bikes - then two squat racks, a smith machine, a room dedicated to dumbbells, 3 cable machines, tons of bench presses, leg press... they even had a sissy squat machine! I was really excited by how much variety there was. The squat machines are great, lots of ways to maneuver them for whatever workout you're looking at (Squats, landmine squats, etc). I come from attending a chain of gyms (O2 Fitness in the South) where we have much less variety, so the sheer number of machines and weightlifting contraptions was really encouraging. Everything was really well maintained and clean. Very utilitarian kind of vibe, in a good way. Not tons of people the days I went there (afternoons usually), which was a plus. Even met the owner, Bill, who helped me out with putting some plates on a barbell (which is awkward at best, since the barbell was sitting on the floor). Such a nice guy! He knew me by name, and that I was on a guest pass. Asked me if I had any issues with the gym/recommendations to improve, etc. If you're someone who likes to lift heavy things, or are looking for a reasonably priced gym in Indy, then come here. I guarantee you will find exactly what you're looking for, if not more. If I lived in the area I'd definitely get a membership to Peak Performance Fitness. read more

This is my new gym. I've been coming here a couple months. It is close to my house, and I pass it every time I leave work. It's hard to skip the gym when it's on your way. This gym has regulars. There are people that have been going there for years. It almost has a cult following. They have quite a few classes included in the membership fee. I pay approximately $30/month. My favorite class is the pound class on Wednesdays with Karen. It's a fun cardio class to music. I went to a spin class that was really good. Their bikes aren't the newest greatest bikes, but I still got a great workout. They have several elliptical and treadmill machines. They aren't the newest greatest best machines, but they are well maintained. I haven't had to wait for a machine even at peak times. They have weight machines, free weights, warrior ropes, TRX bands. They staff has been super friendly and happy to help. Andrew set me up with a routine, so I feel comfortable working out. I intend on staying with this gym. Great place. read more

The staff will not pressure you into flashy sales but if you're looking for help or fitness advice they are incredibly knowledgeable. This is my gym and I absolutely love this place. They have so so many options for any type of training you want to do. The amount of ellipticals they have is also impressive. This place is always clean and incredibly friendly. What I love most about this place other than the great equipment is the motivation that they give you if you're slacking off. How great is that? This shows that they care about each of their customers and they want you to do your best, because we all know how easy it is to have a long day at work, force yourself to go to the gym, but not try very hard. Bill, the owner won't let you do that. I guarantee he will come up to your bike and increase your resistance. Has happened to me twice. I tore a muscle in my back (unrelated to working out) and I was unable to go to the gym for 3 weeks. While I was walking my dog in front of the gym on one of those days, the manager came out to me and and said "you can't just walk in front of the gym without coming in." I loved that. He noticed I wasn't there and was tying to encourage me to come back. I told him my scenario and he told me to come back when I was all good. I was a member of this gym for 5 years. Never once had a bag experience. Never had to wait for equipment. Always clean. The best staff. Unfortunately, I moved up north recently and cancelled my membership due to the distance. I lasted 3 months at the conglomerate gym and reinstated my membership with Peak. I would consider this gym to be one of the best kept secrets in Indianapolis. I drove past it pretty often but never went in to check it out. I finally got fed up with my previous gym (LA Fitness) for the large douche population and over crowding issues. Even the off hours started getting crowded at LA. I have been a member for about a month now, and have been to work out in the morning, during lunch, and at "prime time" (6:30pm or so) and everything has been super accessible at each time slot. In addition to not being packed, it's a gym for training...the equipment is a little older but maintained really well and there are a lot of different options for different variations of workouts that you want to do. The crowd that works out here is super friendly and aren't the people that are there solely to socialize and check out guys/girls. The guy who owns it, Bill, and the rest of the staff also seem to know each member by name and greets them when they walk in. You don't get a lot of that these days. In short; highly recommended. I love this gym, has a gritty feel but doesn't carry the vibe that everyone in there is judging you like the other big high end gyms. Also my car died in the parking lot after working out and the older gentleman from the front desk jumped my car, so the gym has fantastic people working for it. I've been attending Peak for almost 10 years. I've tried a few other gyms, but have found they don't compare to Peak. This is not your typical box gym nor is it fancy. If you're looking for a gym with people who are dedicated to working out and not standing around talking or creeping on girls then this is your place. The wait time for equipment is minimal and people are flexible with letting you work in with them. The staff at Peak are by far the best. During a recent remodel, the owner allowed me to put my initials on my favorite treadmill so I knew where it was once the shuffling of equipment was over. Another great perk about this gym, is the people who go there. I've made a lot friends at peak throughout the years and some of them I consider to be like family. If you're looking for a gym with good staff, clientele, and equipment selection this is a great place to join. read more

This is the best gym I have ever been to! Bill, the owner, worked with me to create a gym membership that accommodated everything I needed for a great price. He remembered my name right off the bat and makes me feel so welcome every time I visit the gym. Peak Performance is a privately owned gym with an awesome Arnold vibe to it. Peak Performance is one of those few gyms where you can really be yourself and just focus on your workout. The equipment is a bit older than most other gyms I've been too, but has recently completed a decent amount of renovations, so that it is still a comfortable place to work out. The members tend to be older rather than younger, so you rarely see young gym rats who dress up and put on makeup for the gym, which is why I like it so much. It has a range of classes, including my favorites, yoga, pilates, and spinning classes, and is very affordable. read more

This is an awesome gym. They have all sorts of cool modified equipment that most gyms don't have. The equipment is always well maintained. There is usually multiples of the same type (squat rack, bench press etc.) so you don't have to wait around on people. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Other gyms around town simply aren't as good as this gym. I have been to many other gyms around town including one in Westfield and they DO NOT match up to peak performance. Came into town for a "day away" and decided to stop in for a day pass. $10 for a day pass, I'm sure some people would find that a little expensive but I think it's a very fair price especially if you're someone who has in interest in just checking out new gyms. If I lived in the area, I would make this my home gym 100% no doubt. Did a crossfit style workout in the back room with the bumper plates, not a single dirty look or comment made which was really nice. Workers seemed really cool and polite and made us feel welcomed. It's an interesting layout, I'd love to know what used to be in the building before the gym. I kind of dig it though, it's unique. Locker rooms were nice enough, they were clean which is all that really matters to me. Some really cool "antique" gym equipment in the entrance, that was super awesome. My only complaint would be the rowers, they were a polar brand and the digital read was pretty odd as well as instead of a chain it was a band type mechanism which made rowing feel awkward but overall would recommend the gym!! read more

I have tried other gyms in the past with friends and it was honestly a waste of time and money. I initially joined Peak Performance because it was reasonably priced and the only gym in the area that didn't seem like Douche City. I ended up remaining a member for 2 years until I moved too far away because the place is an incredible gym. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and Andrew knows every single person that walks in by name. The organization and layout of the place could not be better, and the entire workout area is spacious and comfortable. I cannot recall a single time there that I had to wait to use anything. The cost of membership includes a huge range of classes, from yoga to Zumba to kick boxing, and they also offer day care/babysitting for all you fit mamas and papas. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it ruined other gyms for me. When I had to find a new gym, none could live up to Peak. There's a reason it's been voted the best gym in Indy 3 years in a row. If you're in the area and looking for a gym to join, this is your place. read more

When I called to cancel, they require a 30 day IN PERSON written notice to cancel, OR a certified letter.
