Allen the owner promised we would be happy. And he was not wrong…read more All of the finishing touches on the install for the base board to the casing around the openings were beyond my expectations. Both he and his partner are so nice and talented that we have hired them to do our bathrooms now. Again Allen, thank you. God has given you both a gift.

After paying him the last payment he has been ignoring our attempts to call, text & email him for over 2 months now to come back & finish something he said he was going to do & repair an outlet that he installed, but doesn't work. Prior to starting the job & during working on the job if we contacted him he responded immediately! On top of that he did damage to our ceiling after one of his workers fell through the ceiling while running a wire in the attic. After patching the drywall he just painted it with some bright white flat ceiling paint on part of the ceiling and 13" down onto one wall & 7.5" down onto the other wall, which doesn't match the color that is currently on the ceiling or walls. His reasoning was because "it would be near impossible to find a matching color", which I understand that, though I feel any other professional in the same situation would have done the right thing & at least tried to find a matching color or repaint the whole thing to be one matching color or reimburse us the cost of the paint & hiring someone else to do the job! We initially reached out to him in late January to turn a 10x10 garage storage space into an office. He came out for the consultation in early February, provided us with an itemized quote early March, after going back & forth a couple times to try & get the cost within our budget a contract was signed mid March & deposit was paid early April. Estimated start date was mid April, however kept getting pushed back & actual start date was early June. Majority of the job was finished early July, however he had installed a mini split a/c unit, which he said he completely installed all except evacuating the air & topping off the coolant because he didn't have the equipment for it. He said to call an hvac guy to do that & then to give him a call & he'd come back out to finish the job. We ended up paying an hvac company a lot of money to come out & finish the installation. They said there was a lot more to do than what Allan had stated & that he had set up the wiring for it backwards so they had to correct that. So we had to pay the contractor a full 8 hour day rate & then pay the hvac guy to finish & correct his work. This whole process has been in the works for the last 8 months. It was supposed to be a 2 week job that was completely finished before our baby was born in June so we wouldn't have dust & paint fumes & random people walking in/out of the house daily with a newborn. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

I reached out to a number of business by email during my search. Most replied with a generic response quoting parts prices, shipping costs and additional fees for this or that. Some didn't bother to get back to me at all. And then suddenly...the clouds parted...the Angels started singing...and I found Superior Aluminum Products in Russia, Ohio. Dustin Schemmel replied almost immediately to my inquiry asking for additional information and specifics to the part I was looking for. After providing the info that he requested and explaining my difficulty in obtaining these parts closer to home, he got back to me the same day with several options. He went over the cost per part verses the value of excess order capacity, while explaining how the overall measurement and weight of the parts affect the shipping fees and freight limitations. He was very generous with his information, providing several scenarios that could possibly fit my needs, and at no time did I feel pressured to make a purchase. Dustin was kind and respectful, going above and beyond with no expectation of financial gain. Archadeck of West Central and Southwest Ohio - Archadeck Award Winning TimberTech composite deck with low voltage lighting in Springboro, OH 45066

Archadeck of West Central and Southwest Ohio

I do not take posting this review lightly. We hired Archadeck of Southwest Ohio (Tim Stephens) to…read morerebuild our deck in September of 2019. I made it clear that the previous deck had slid down the hill due to inadequate support and I wanted to avoid this at all costs. Tim agreed to work with our structural engineer to provide the additional support needed to avoid a repeat of an unstable deck. We provided Tim with signed and sealed engineer drawings of the engineer designed deck supports. In short, these drawing were not followed. The deck that was built doesn't have the additional support specified in the engineer drawings that we spent over $1400 to have drawn up. The workmanship was poor on what was built. The footers were placed below grade, leaving wood supports sitting in mud and water. The support beams are not in contact with the footers. When this was pointed out, they placed a block of wood to bridge the gap. The footers were supposed to be 6 inches, but were installed as 4 inch posts. The footers were not dug to an appropriate depth - leaving it very prone to , once again, falling down the slope. Not only did his contracted employee not follow the plans, but his project foreman didn't confirm that the deck was built according to plans or even appropriately. I have been negotiating with Archadeck's parent company, but Tim has not been willing to do what is necessary (pay for the additional engineering work necessitated by him not following the provided plans and fix according to the engineer's instructions), we have now contacted a lawyer. There is demonstrable dishonesty with Tim Stephens. I have tried for months to fix these issues without involving lawyers, but have been left with no choice. update - still working through the lawyers and now trim pieces of the deck are just falling off - it hasn't been there more than a year. LOOK AT WHAT IS BELOW THE DECK BEFORE SIGNING OFF ON THEIR PROJECTS. DO NOT TRUST TIM STEPHENS TO BE HONEST. He agreed to follow our engineering drawings, in writing, and then, knowingly, did not follow them. We would have never known had we not looked under the deck before signing off on the project - and I think he was counting on us not comparing the engineer drawings to the actual structure. It was deliberate dishonesty and poor quality workmanship.
