A paved walking path, big parking lots available and little ones along the path, clean restroom facilities, a large concession stand offering snacks and honey hut ice cream! There were plenty of picnic tables scattered around with families and friends having birthdays, graduation parties, etc. The group I was with rented out the tented area, which was a nice size and had some dedicated grills and trash for convenience. I didn't swim or use the beach/lake area but there were plenty of people out there swimming, kayaking, and fishing.

We arrived around 6pm on a weekday evening. There were only 2 other people playing tennis together when My friend and I arrived so it was nice that the courts were not very busy. Although the tennis courts were not busy, there were people walking around the park just outside of the tennis courts enclosure. . The park has a playground for kids and there is a grassy area for maybe softball, baseball, or football. There apparently is a pool at the park too but I don't remember seeing one because I am writing this review over a year and a half later. TENNIS (hard court) -- The park has 2 pickleball courts and 4 tennis courts. My friend and I played tennis on one of the courts for over an hour. The surface is hard court so not clay or grass court surface. Playing on the hard court surface was good. The courts are definitely well used and not new but the tennis balls still bounced off well. The park could use some benches because I hardly saw any during my October 2025 visit. Overall, I had a fun time playing tennis here. Tennis courts, jungle gyms, a public pool that is always hopping mid summer, baseball diamonds AND some baby woods on the far side. I have dubbed the woods "Imp's Woods" cuz metal. I take the dog down here about once a week. It's blocks from my Lakewood home over the freeway. It's pretty well maintained and is in probably the safest neighborhood in the city of Cleveland. Lots of parking and only blocks from Giant Eagle or the Rocky River reservation.

THINGS TO DO -- There are some benches close to the marina for you to sit and watch people on their boats or sit to just admire the nice houses up on the cliff. There is a section to rent Kayak's. If you have a boat, there is a dock where you can load and unload your boat. If you prefer not to get on the water, there is a walking path along the lake. Also, the big park is across the marina where families gather to have a picnic or enjoy the great outdoors. There was this little girl with rosiest cheeks I've ever seen laughing as she walked with her family. She and her siblings were laughing and running with her siblings. This made me smile as I thought those are great parents taking their kids for w walk in this winter wonderland. It was in the 20's but it felt great. I'm so thankful for all of our parks in Ohio. The waterfall looks so pretty. The trails are not difficult to do. There are your slight inclines, with snow and ice it can be a little slippery just slow down or make sure you have proper footwear. People on the trail are pretty friendly and will say hello as they are walking by. You got this!!

However, it's wise to proceed with caution as there is only one way in & out. Small, inconvenient & dense are also a few choice words...as the road leading to the parking lot is so narrow that only one car can fit on it at a time. Why someone would design it this way is beyond me, because if another vehicle is traveling towards you in the opposite direction; you'd both have to reverse all the way to the end. You absolutely cannot drive over the side due to the surrounding woods. Also, there's only room for 3, maybe 4 small cars in the lot. Yet it is a good spot for a VERY short walk or just to get away. There is a small overlook that's great for bird watching as it is surrounded by the lake. If you enjoy bryophytes , there is not a huge variety but you can find at least 3 species I was able to observe. The downside: it's small, NO pets are allowed & it's not handicap accessible.However, the upside is that it's nature- we saw over 3 ugly cookie cutter developments being built all on the same road on the way there; this is probably one of the few pieces of land that hasn't been disturbed by unwanted homes. It was clean, peaceful and uncrowded; perfect for us anti social beings!

I'm not saying don't check it out because it does have some nice features such as: a playground, tennis courts, hiking trails, Campbell's Lodge and it's usually kept pretty clean. However, I couldn't give this place a 5 star review because they are not pet friendly. Also, I realize that (sadly) someone was in a head-on collision this winter and crashed into the beautiful pine trees that used to offer privacy next to the tennis courts. At the most, two trees were damaged but they decided to cut down all of them and it just looks like sh*t now. As for Campbell's Lodge, it's okay.... for Stow residents it's only $75.00 to rent so you can't beat that! And I'll admit, the pics on their site make the interior of the building look like American cheese exploded on every wall (it's not that bad in person, trust me). But if you're looking for a more higher-end facility then this probably wouldn't meet your standards. Otherwise, it's a cute little place in an over crowded city...great for a date or just to clear your mind. :)

There is one large loop around the main lake, a smaller loop around another lake towards the back, and a trail off the main lake that meanders around the woods for awhile. I got in 3 miles and enjoyed every second of it. Lots of different scenery, birds, and several fishermen enjoying one of the first warm spring days. I will be back!

I came for the annual Trekking Through Autumn, but as a first time visitor I didn't know where the trails were located. Around the main lake path there a few mowed offshoots that don't seemingly go anywhere. Unless they did, but with no park map available it was difficult to tell. I tried to make the best of it. Overall, it was just another park to hike.

The well maintained shelter and bath house were constructed in the 1930's by the local CCC Corp. The lake was also developed at that time to offer the local population an accessible recreational area during the Great Depression. Currently, the lake is stocked with several local species of catfish, blue gill and bass. What a peaceful, zen atmosphere! Fall is definitely the time of year to visit with the display of Nature's Colors.
