*Cautionary tale for clients with long hair*…read more I booked an appointment with a stylist to trim my waist length hair prior to my college graduation (my prior stylist from elsewhere relocated, so I had to seek out a new stylist). I showed photos of my past haircuts (all photos showed visuals of very long hair) which are always a dusting of my dead ends. I explained to the stylist I've always had long hair and just wanted a bare minimal trim. What happened after this, was the opposite. My back was turned to the mirrors (I could not see) and my hair was cut shoulder length. I then panicked and asked "You arent' cutting anymore length off are you?". She made me aware she had to "clean it up", which left me with even shorter hair. I refused to allow her to thin it - I was scared I would leave with hardly any hair if I had allowed it to be thinned. I left the salon with a shoulder length haircut (approximately 8-10 inches of hair was cut off). I was distraught and emotional. I attended my college graduation with a haircut that made me feel as if I wasn't myself. It will take months if not a year to begin to grow my hair back out. *Please, if you are a client in search of a stylist -(Cailey) and have long hair proceed with caution*.

The girl (Jeni) did a little filing, but didn't even make sure my nails were the same length or shape. Then she buffed and polished. No creams, lotions, massage, cuticle work. To top it off, I paid extra for the no chip gel polish and it chipped within 3 days! I called to speak with a manager and spoke with Melissa. She did not offer any apologies and acted like my manicure and results were completely normal. Plus, their mani/pedis are some of the most expensive in town. Hated all the flies landing on me. Was not comfortable with all the cameras in every corner of the room. Are they watching me or the employees??? To me, the salon was not all that clean. Hair Expressions is located right next to the Break Time gas station on the intersection of Boonville and Main. The building itself is small and really old so the five stars are not due to it best building but the service itself. I think they only have one nail technician b/c there was only one pedicure chair - one of those massage chairs with foot baths. Nobody else was in the room where they did nails. Michelle has been doing nails for 7 years and did a great job of not irritating my feet while getting the job done. She did a great job of making suggestions as to nail colors and was great to talk to. She charges $35 for a pedicure but gives a $5 off coupon each time so it ends up being $30.
