I was hoping to run on a trail of some sort but having checked out ALL the trails nearby previously, I knew I would have slim luck of finding one I liked. I decided a school track would be a good bet. This one was closest to me and although there was just one review saying it was open to the public, I bit the bullet and drove over. Street parking was easy enough. The track is a block over from the school and not openly visible from the street. Just walk towards the tennis and bball courts. All the gates were open! The field is turf so you don't have to worry about grass stains, and the track is rubber so it's pretty easy on the knees. If you're looking for a track, this one is a 5/5! Also a good place to shoot some hoops! *note: there are bathrooms but I don't think they're unlocked.

We went for a third birthday party and thought it was great. The park is new and huge, built on the site of an old dairy in Lincoln Heights, by the L.A. River. It has a soccer field and basketball courts, and more relevant to our particular interests, a free parking lot and a large playground. The playground was big enough, in fact, that my son was able to go to the birthday party without really going to the birthday party--he kind of just hung out with his best friend on the playground while the rest of the kids enjoyed giant bubbles and cake and all that several yards away, in a neat, quiet area set up with picnic tables. The playground was great, though, as were the expansive views, which encompassed both downtown and, of more immediate interest, semi-regular train traffic. At one point during the party, a long freight train went by and all the children stopped what they were doing and watched, mesmerized. We had a lovely time at Albion Riverside Park and would be happy to go back, to party kid-style or just hang out in the playground and watch some trains.

On the other hand skill was superior at Anahuak soccer. Teams leave because it's extremely competitive. I only rated 4 due to poor upkeep of grass fields. Turf field is fast and furious. Verteranos is harder than varsity. It's only flaw is it tends to lean towards futsal style which doesn't completely translate to a soccer team. 1 forward and 9 midfielders. That's Mexican soccer! USA flaw is lack of forwards. Can't score, can't win.

I've been playing in the league for over a year now and honestly can't see myself giving it up…read more It's been a fun way to stay active and keep in shape but the real reason I keep coming back is the friends I've made and the community around the league. The league does a great job of hosting socials for the entire league to come out but even within the team I'm on we've started numerous hangouts such as frequenting a trivia night, going to a sporting event or even drinking at a brewery for st Patrick's day. I've enjoyed my time in the league and look forward to many more seasons!
