Place we always go to while in Florence... always feeling welcomed and well taken care of . Great food!

Stopped by for a quick lunch while our clothes was going through a wash cycle at a nearby laundromat. Had a friend recommend the Bolognese here, however I did not find anything on the menu that had Bolognese , nor did the server have any comments/recommendations about it. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I ordered a meal with grilled slices of beef instead. Food and service was okay. Nothing special. read more

Excellent pizza and Greek salad. The pictures were what brought us in and the food is what makes me want to share since everyone seems to be watching for the best choice. While many places are wonderful, we liked everything about stopping here. I must comment on their bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I loved it so much I ate more even after our pizza arrived. The local men who came in ordered meatballs and a plate of their fresh focaccia that looked amazing. Service was friendly. read more

We came across this restaurant on way back to our hotel. Once I got to our room I looked it up on a couple of sites and decided to give it a try. We are very happy that we did. Just to give you all some insight, we have a bigger lunch now and a lighter dinner, with this in mind you will understand that we order two starters and then dessert. Our first starter was the eggplant meatballs in sauce. It was 4 meatballs made of eggplant and were they delicious!!! Crispy on the outside and nice layers of eggplant in side. The other starter was prosciutto and buratta, we added a little olive oil to the buratta and was just a wonderful dish to go along with our eggplant. Our desserts were a lava cake that my wife said reminded her of a very good chocolate soufflé, while I had fresh strawberries and gelato. We had the most incredible lunch. We got the tortellini with Bolognese, which was absolutely incredible. We also had prawns that were wrapped in bacon fat, and a Greek salad. Last night we got a margarita pizza with spicy salami, and it was also delicious. The cheesecake was phenomenal. Like melt in your mouth with a homemade crust. Give this place a try. First of all, Massimo is consistently one of the nicest people we meet every time we come to Florence and he's a great owner/hoat. We had the fired artichokes, pizza and pomodoro pasta and they were all exceptional. After a nice walk around the city, we re-established our our love of Florence and were ready to finally eat (it as late on a Sunday evening)! We had walked by this place on our way towards Il Duomo, and after a few hours of walking around, we were ready to eat. Went in and got a table very quickly. Surprisingly, some friends of ours from the USA were seated at the table behind us (we had no idea that they were there) and so we had a great conversation before and over dinner - the restaurant offered to join our tables, but we were so close, we ready didn't need too. We ordered a pizza each - margharita and quattro formaggio (they are perfectly sized for one as well) and a shared salad. After running some errands, we were ravenous and needed a bite to eat, STAT. Passed by this restaurant and ducked inside. Greeted and seated immediately. Grabbed a bottle of Chianti & a cheese plate to start. The cheese plate? Phenomenal. It was the highlight of our meal. When I told staff that I loved the cheeses, they brought me a brochure from the farm. Awesome. Their pecorino cheeses are from a small artisan family-run cheese maker (Cugusi Silvana). Sooooo good. I also ordered one of my favorites, Napoli pizza. The capers & anchovies were excellent. Server recommended no cheese and I agreed (given how much cheese I had already eaten). I noticed there were quite a few Americans eating here (its located close to the Westin). But I have to admit, I'm partial to Naples pizza. Nevertheless, a very pleasant lunch. read more

Very close to Westin hotel this place has an excellent selection of wines. Of course, expect superb pasta dishes (they will improvise - their base menu has very few vegetarian options). One of the wait staff there is a darn good sommelier as well - use his service. He was 2 out of 3 with our group. read more

Very good restaurant right outside the crowded tourist area of Florence in a calm side street. The decor is modern and trendy, and the food delicious. We had a superb tartare steak and tagliata. Both were delicious. The place wasn't crowded and the service was good. The menu includes a good selection of pizzas too. We had a Chianti that was good. read more

Went here based on the Yelp reviews. It was really just "meh". We started with the caprese salad. It was fine. But nothing special. We then had ricotta with butter and sage. We thought it was going to be pasta but it wasn't. It was ricotta balls with sage in butter. We then had the steak with mushrooms. We ordered the steak medium. It came out well done. The mushrooms were very soft, almost like they were boiled. The flavor was good but, but the consistency of the mushrooms was just odd. We closed out with the apple cake - which was the highlight of the meal. It was super tasty. We wanted to love this meal we just didn't.... read more

Loved the outdoor dining option. Chose because it was close to my hotel and I wanted a quick bite. The salad was excellent. But the meats platter was of mediocre quality. High priced too. Wine list is decent. Service is inattentive. read more

I hate writing bad reviews about restaurants because I know the business is hard and there are many in the industry who care about their food quite a bit. My wife ordered the "truffle" pasta and was clearly served fake (likely Chinese, apparently) truffles. We're very accustomed to the delicious, pungent flavor of real truffles and have had them many times at fine dining establishments, and gladly paid the premium for the pleasure. The pasta from this restaurant had truffles shaved on it, in an unusually generous amount. The chef clearly knew what he was doing and added truffle oil, which is synthetic and obvious tasting. When questioned about it, the server tried to tell us we were just inferior guests. Nope, sorry guy. Then he took a modest amount off the bill to placate us. Meanwhile he makes sure other guests within earshot hear how I liked my steak (it was good). A good steak and whatnot doesn't erase the bad feeling though here. There are so many great restaurants in Florence, I'd skip this one. read more

Especially beware if you come off as American or British- I noticed our service was especially bad. Just go somewhere else. I'm at a loss for why this place is open. The owner stood in the back of the restaurant looking pissed off the entire time we were there. Not a great way to greet your customers and definitely did not create a welcome atmosphere. They had a well priced lunch menu, but the carbonara was AWFUL. Maybe I was spoiled by the pasta in Rome, but it was completely lacking. I've had better carbonara in the States and that is sad. The steak is served rare, which is fine with me. My husband is not a fan of rare meat, but obviously didn't want to send his back with the hostile environment, so he ate it anyway. They also did not care much about the presentation as the plates had finger marks and the rocket/arugula was wilted. The wine was the only tolerable thing, but the servers didn't come round much. Seriously, so many other good options in Florence. Go elsewhere. read more

Another little surprise. Had a great meal outside on their patio. Great people watching and enjoyed a few hours having drinks and had several courses. I had the Greek salad and spicy salami pizza. Both tasty. Prices are very reasonable considering several restaurants in the area are really pricey. Much more casual and relaxing. read more

On our first day in Florence, our group (of nine, including five under 18) went out for a walk and were hungry. We stumbled across this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. As far as lunch fare goes, the pizzas, pastas were to the standard we would have expected for Italy, and there was a great beer and wine selection. Our server was attentive and we were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The ambience in the back room (where they sat our large party) was not as cozy as some of the other restaurants further in the old part of the city, but it was a decent experience with great food. read more
