Enjoyed the cake donuts here that are made fresh and still warm when you get them. You can customize your own donuts but we found that simple toppings or just icing allowed us to really savor the joys of a cake donut. When you bite into the donut there's a crisp outer layer then you sink your teeth into a fluffy mouthful of warm cake do(ugh)nut. Only bummed that they don't sell raised yeast donuts because that would be so delicious to have warm and fresh too! If you're not a donut fan there's plenty of chocolate bar offerings with fun flavors and Rice Krispie treats with all sorts of add- in candy and chocolate enrobing. While I really enjoy the freshness of Industrial Donut's cake donuts, if wish they had some options for the base donut - that is glazed and topped - other than vanilla. My donut was glazed with super-sweet chocolate glaze and topped with multi-colored sprinkles. My friend had a plain glaze and a dollop of apple filling (as close as you can come to an apple fritter). I've been making all kinds of healthy choices this month and Industrial Donut was just one of them (insert sarcasm here). In all seriousness, these are good donuts. My husband's coworkers were kind enough to shower him with a box of these treats on his last day of work. I'm the lucky lady that got to sample the leftovers. Loved the PB & J and the Oreo. I'm embarrassed to admit that I started eating them before I even looked at where they came from, and I'm not normally a cake donut fan. However, I wouldn't hesitate to actually visit the shop and build my own creation. The concept is neat; we've seen this done at yogurt and noodle shops and the like, so why not donuts? I actually first stepped inside Industrial Donut a week ago. It was after hours and I was looking in the window as owners James and Becca were cleaning the shop. James let me in to take a quick look. This morning, my wife suggested that we get some donuts from Industrial. Excellent suggestion! Traffic was pretty brisk this Saturday morning. A worker explained the ordering process and we looked at the many options. I decided on one donut with chocolate icing and bacon. My second donut had peanut butter icing and was topped with M&M's. I also ordered a regular black coffee to drink. My wife has one donut with vanilla icing and bacon and another with vanilla icing and crushed Oreo cookies. She drank a decaf coffee. The verdict: Outstanding! The donuts were reasonably priced at $1.49 each and had great flavor. The coffee was excellent. Service was friendly and quick. We ate our donuts in the store. Industrial Donut coffee, coffee mugs and shirts are available for purchase. There are games available in case you take your kids out for donuts. The coffee service area had several flavorings available as well as different types of creamers and milk. There were even extras like nutmeg for your coffee. Our four donuts and two coffees, with tax, cost $10.74. Would I return? Definitely! I plan on getting a dozen to take into work. They will surely make me a hero for the day! read more

The coffees are big and the donuts are small. The first donut I had from this place was one that was brought to me a couple hours after it was made - yuck. These donuts are meant to be enjoyed fresh!! Yeah, the donuts are a bit more expensive than those you'd find at a gas station but they're made fresh and have such a variety of toppings on them. Worth it. The downside to this is that the donuts are child-sized so you really need more than one. They are heavily staffed, which is great. It's a bit mesmerizing to watch the staff working. They even have someone greeting you at the front to explain the ordering process if you are not familiar - I was very thankful for that. In addition to all of their topping options, they also have house specials -- including a weekly special that seems to get its name from locals (adorable). The hot coffee is one size for a good price. They have selections of syrups and milks (soy, almond, 2%... regular?) and cream. They even have a board by the coffee station that suggests a drink for you to make, which I thought was very clever and wish I had seen before I dumped my usual cream and sugar into my cup. I would suggest they get longer stir sticks, though - I let go of my stir stick and it disappeared into my coffee. This is a great place for kids to come! They have some cute toys to play with and some other interactive activities - like coloring and designing your own donut! (I wish they displayed these drawings somewhere). Indoor seating was nice. Comfortable, padded chairs and ample tables. A good mix of 2-person tables and tables for larger groups. I do hope they add some outdoor seating! The inside temperature was a bit cold, but I could see this being a nice thing on a super hot day. Just maybe not a great temperature if you're planning on staying here for a long time. Speaking of staying here for a long time, there are quite a few outlets around if you look well. Mostly hidden under the tables against the wall! To be honest, I really tried to find a way to not give this place 5 stars. I actively looked for reasons to knock it down because I don't like giving 5 stars... but I really could not justify giving it any less. There were a couple small things here and there, but nothing that added up to a full star July 2020 Update: Everything in my previous review remains true! But I wanted to update to give a extra shoutout for the way they've kept the business going during this pandemic. With safe distancing practices and safety measures in place at the store, it has been a great experience ordering from them. Their online ordering is easy to use (though the donuts don't allow you to add more than one topping to them - but there's a notes section!). I'd highly recommend checking out their Instagram page to get the latest news on daily specials and the weekly donut. Grab a half dozen and a delicious iced coffee. I got the Industrial Waste donut and made an Oreo donut (vanilla icing, Oreos, and chocolate drizzle). Both were very tasty and fresh. Although I have a major sweet tooth, I dislike overly sugary donuts. However, I can say that these have JUST the right amount (which is rare in my opinion). I also got a Chai Latte which I loved. The icing on the cake was how friendly and helpful the staff was. Inside the store is also very cute and "instagrammable". That should tell you all you need to know about this overly average donut shop. They're served warm, which is the ONLY thing they have going for them. If you buy their mug and bring it back, you get a 99 cent coffee. Today when we visited, Rebecca saw my husband was wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket so she brought a donut with green and yellow sprinkles with a Green Bay Packers Logo to our table complimentary, and said this is for luck. Love this place. It's a different kind of donut shop than the typical Shipley's or Krispy Kreme quick stop. The donuts are a little on the small side, but they aren't overly expensive. I wouldn't recommend it for grabbing a dozen to take to the office, but it's fantastic for sitting down for a morning meal/dessert/snack, either with others or alone. First off, the coffee is fantastic..... it is so smooth and I would say is one of the better cups of coffee in the CU area. Secondly, the location is pretty good -- I mean, there's nothing in Savoy, so this is a welcome addition and a good place to get coffee when you are down by the airport. The store is clean and modern.... just not sure why there are sound absorbing panels on the ceiling. Now for the donuts.... I like the idea of customized donuts, but it really does make the ordering process time-consuming especially when a customer has never been there before and starts asking questions to the staff..... I mean, it takes a LONG time! All I wanted was a donut with chocolate frosting on it..... I was behind a woman who was customizing six individual donuts -- it took at least a minute per donut, and she didn't even realize that there was an order form to fill out. But anyways, I guess once everyone in town gets to know the process, then I'm sure it'll be fine....... but what happens if there's a line out the door and everybody does this. Ugh. The donuts are small. And they are cake donuts which is a turn-off for me right away. I'm more of a yeast-donut person. .... the cake donuts just seem heavy and dense. These particular cake donuts were crispy on the outside (which I liked), but very mushy and doughy on the inside (I did not like).... after finishing the donut, I could taste the oiliness on the roof of my mouth which I really didn't like, and needed to buy an orange juice to wash it out.
