This was the first time that I've gone to the Mad Goat Champaign location. I am from Danville and Frequently go to Mad Goat North & South in Danville. I was in Champaign early and needed to kill some time and what better way to do that than Hang out at Mad Goat! I am a basic coffee dude and just drink regular coffee and it was very good as per usual. The staff were very friendly and it has an awesome over all vibe! I paid to park across the street and then realized they do have some of their own free parking so note to self for next time! that one was on me! I am spoiled in Danville because they also have their Royal Donut brand donuts but didn't have them at this location but I saw just yesterday that Royal Donut will soon be expanding to the Champaign Urbana area so I am only going to assume it's only a matter of time until they have them at this location. Went late morning on a Saturday and it was busy but not completely packed. Wasn't too noisy for the number of people there. We got a large cold brew, small tropical bliss smoothie, an a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich. Everything was delicious. It cost just under $20 all together. The building is cute, nice tiling on the floor, exposed brick, hanging lights, an murals on the wall. Lots of different seating options such as large tables, small tables, and couches. read more

Delicious latte and muffin. Came here to get breakfast to go - service was quick and friendly. Lattes were on point - high quality espresso. Muffin (chocolate chip banana) was decent - maybe bake it 1-2 minutes less bc the outside was well baked. This is our third time here, and we look forward to coming back next time we are in town! read more

Honestly one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever been to! Katie helped me out so much I had no idea what coffee to get but she explained the history of cappuccinos to me and let me taste syrup with no hesitation and just made my day. The best part is they have these you can come sit here if you want me things you can put on your table if you're open to making a friend! So cute. read more

This place was nice. The coffee was okay. The matcha latte with raspberry and cherry syrup was delicious. It was peaceful and easy to get work done here. Staff was a little standoffish. They didn't call our names when our drinks were ready, so they sat on the counter for a few minutes before I went over to check if they were ours. Staff began mopping and cleaning an hour and a half earlier than closing time, it felt like they wanted us to leave even though they were still open for a good while. Overall it was nice, but I would probably go somewhere else next time to avoid awkward staff. read more

Absolutely the best coffee shop in Champaign Urbana. Best coffee, best food, best service, best ambiance, and best location.

I really wanted to like this coffee shop. I like Mad Goat bagged coffee. However, I don't know if I just went on a bad day or what happened. The shop is in a cool location with an okay feel inside. It's not warm but rather hard floors, loud noises, and an industrial feel. The coffee was ok but nothing special. I had to stir my own latte to mix the syrups. No whip as requested either. Between, the disgusting machines, unclean counters, not cleaning the puck between uses, pucks left on soiled surfaces, puck not being cleaned in between coffee types, milks and lettuce left out on the counters for over 15mins, the lazy employee talking with her friends for over 15mins, dirty floors/tables, and uneventful service, I have no desire to go back to any of the locations. As a long time customer of the Danville locations, I was very happy to see them open a location in Downtown Champaign. Serving the same great locally roasted coffee, I have stopped in a few times since they opened. The coffee is amazing as always and the staff is very friendly. The owners Ben and Daniel are very friendly and are usually around helping out. Most recently I tried the Iced Churro Latte which was a great combination of flavors and refreshing for the summer. The location is convenient in downtown and has a decent number of parking spots on site and on the street. The interior is bright and open which is my favorite of the locations. I will certainly return and would recommend Mad Goat as one of the top coffee shops in Champaign and the best in downtown! read more

I ordered a medium Americano with BROWN SUGAR SYRUP (three words there). I got brown sugar. That is not what I ordered. I said it very clearly. Next time my order will go something like this: "Hi I see you have brown sugar syrup on your menu. I want a medium Americano with that. BROWN SUGAR SYRUP. SYRUP. please and thank you." New favorite coffee shop in Champaign! Mad Goat Coffee has some of the best roasted coffee in the area. The place is very spacious and modern with a classic black and white interior. The place was very busy as it had just recently opened and was relatively new at the time. My only complaint is that their free wi-fi was a hit or miss back then, but I believe that the connection issues have been fixed recently. The workers are so kind, personable, and helpful with choosing which drink to get. They have so many different coffee roast varieties that you can choose from (as well as many hot tea options if you are a tea person). The first drink I ever got was a small iced hazelnut latte with oat milk which was strong yet subtle. I really appreciate how you can still taste the espresso without having the milk overpower the drink. Their sausage & cheese breakfast sandwich was warm, delicious, and decently priced. Mad Goat Coffee is such a gem! It's super spacious with lots of seating, and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable--while the inside having the perfect temperature, not too hot or cold. The barista was so sweet and recommended I try some unique syrups that aren't on the menu. I went with the honey and cinnamon flavored oat milk latte, and it was easily one of the best lattes I've ever had! The space is really cute and modern, and I can definitely see myself coming back. This is definitely the nicest looking cafe in Champaign. It is brand new and sparkly inside. Drinks are fine. It is always over- air conditioned and always very crowded. Lots of seating, though not the most comfortable chairs. They have power strips at every table, which makes this a good place to work for a while. read more
