Installed Mismatched Springs It was in 2007 that Industrial replaced both the springs on my garage door. I can't complain about it lasting 11 years but what I've discovered after the failure of one of the springs is that Industrial installed springs of different length and different gauge. The shorter, lower gauge spring is the one that broke. I suspect that smaller spring was taking more of its share of the load and thus failed prematurely. I wasn't looking over the serviceman's shoulder and thus didn't challenge him as to why he installed two different length and gauge springs. I should have been watching him like a hawk. So okay, I got 11 years out of his installation but I likely could have gotten more had he done the job correctly. This time I switched to another garage door installation and repair shop. WARNING ! Stay away they installed a new door and within a week the door was broke, the screws had pulled out of the wall . Took two weeks to get them to come fix it. Now the screws have pulled out again and the whole chain rail and springs have dropped down. Come to find out they put in the wrong springs and its going to cost me another $700 to have someone else fix the blundered up kindergarten installation. This company will cheat you, do not use them! We contacted them in April to fix an industrial door for one of our customer's damaged door. Industrial overhead door went to see the damaged door and we received a quote from them for about $1,200. They required 50% deposit so we paid them $650. They did not go on the dates they scheduled for appointments and we continuously had to call them over and over to get them out there and to follow up. They ended up not being able to fix the industrial door because the one they ordered did not fit. The owner, Fred, and office manager, Diane, said that we should go ahead and find another company to do the job and that we would receive our $650 back. Now it's SEPTEMBER, and they will not give us a money back and avoiding our phone calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are crooks and will take your money then dodge your calls when they owe you a refund because of a job they could not complete/do accurately! read more
