I've been meaning to write a review for a long time - I signed up for a membership when I first…read morerolled into town. All of the teachers are so knowledgeable about the body and alignment they and genuinely care. The pilates classes work miracles for back pain and other body aches and pains that start up after age 50. There is a variety of classes which is really nice depending on your mood and what you feel up to accomplishing physically. This is a top-notch studio and if you are looking to get stronger in a safe and productive way, this is it. Plus everyone is so nice. Five stars. Highly recommend.

Joining Vellidan (formerly The Pilates Room) was the best New Year's Resolution I made for this…read moreyear. This space is warm and welcoming and all the instructors have been wonderful while also being completely unique in their focus and delivery. I started January with the unlimited membership (which I highly recommend) so I've taken Facial Refresh, Core XIIT, Pilates (mat) and TRX classes. Each class and each instructor has something different to offer, and with the small class sizes you feel like a part of the community immediately. From week to week the instructors remember specific injuries (to recommend modifications), goals and other pieces that are so important to substantial growth in strength and stamina. The online system is very easy to use to sign up for classes and the cancellation policy is extremely fair. Being right in the heart of Fall Creek with ample parking, the commute there is never a problem. In addition, the class times are perfect for my schedule and they have so many various classes to offer, it's so much more than just Pilates! Finally, they even have online classes if you can't make it in-person on a specific day, which I have also used and found to be extremely beneficial. I really can't recommend Vellidan enough. As a mom of two young children, this was the reminder I needed that feeling strong doesn't need to mean high intensity workouts with guaranteed injuries. Pilates is highly focused core work that is low intensity with a laser focus on correct form rather than overexertion. In just one month I already feel stronger and can feel my balance and core strength improving significantly. Thanks to Tori and the wonderful and knowledgeable instructors at Vellidan for providing such an important service to the downtown area!

Four and a half years ago, at age 62, my wife talked me into going to a personal trainer. I was more than skeptical that the cost would be worthwhile, particularly when I could sign up for Planet Fitness for relatively small monthly charge. Kathy Lucas quickly removed all of my doubts. She is highly knowledgeable, warm and caring in her approach to whole body fitness. My posture improved quickly and dramatically, as did my strength and endurance. We both found that we could ski, hike and bike longer and with less effort. Kathy paid particular attention to strengthening our core muscles. Now I feel my back is protected when I lift heavy objects or perform hard yard work. During the Covid-19 lockdown, we decided to exercise daily. We tried a number of on-line exercise videos and several live on-line personal trainers, in addition to the on-line workouts that we continued with Kathy. Our workouts with Kathy were by far the best. Her attention to details and proper form for each exercise over the years has trained us to to perform exercises in a way that protects our muscles and joints from injury, while gaining the maximum for our efforts...something that we were not getting from the other sources. Whenever we take a class from any other source we are now able to make the adjustments that we know keep us safe. We continue to look forward to our weekly sessions with Kathy. Her bright smile, energy and enthusiasm encourage us to routinely push ourselves beyond what we think we can do and somehow makes hard exercise and sweating fun. At age 67 and 65, my wife and I are in the best shape of our lives! Thank you Kathy!

You definitely become part of the family when you join Valor. The trainers are knowledgeable,…read morefriendly and motivate you to push yourself to meet your goals. It's great to workout with others who also help push, encourage, motivate and cheer you on. I'm 7 months post-op from a labral hip tear, and the trainers are great in working with me on modifications on certain exercises that either are still difficult or less painful on the hip.

Prior to the gym, I never thought I would enjoy working out in a group, but I don't think I could go back to working out alone. The space is a converted warehouse that they have made their home. It gives plenty of room for all of us to workout with room to spare. I have never felt like the gym was crowded because we always have room for more people. There is very good equipment from wall-mounted racks to gymnast rings, to sleds that we push/pull, kettlebells, etc. There is an astroturf section which we do sled pushes, sprints, and the valor olympics on. The gym is for all ages and all levels of fitness and goals. We have kids to young adults to people in their fifties. Best of all Valor is a family. We adopt new members into the family everyday.
