The tickets are decently priced and they even have the option of buying online now, if you are afraid of tickets selling out for a particular showing. The stadium seating allows everyone to get a good view of the screen (just wish the seats were a bit more comfortable). The Chippewa Valley Railroad operates on a loop in Carson Park, across the street from the historic…read morebaseball stadium. Appropriate for kids of all ages, especially those of us with grey hair that remember the real thing, the railroad operates passenger trains pulled by live steam or "diesel" power. The diesel, actually a model of GM's famous F series locomotives, runs on a Wisconsin internal combustion engine. It was built by the Miniature Train Company sometime between 1948 and 1956. It is one of at least 5 such trains operating in Wisconsin. (Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Green Bay, Wausau and here.) Chippewa Valley Railroad goes the typical MTC railroad one better with live steam. You can ride the MTC train or a live steam train. The loop is about a half mile and takes you along the bluff above the Chippewa River, past a picnic shelter, over the road that takes you to the depot, past a silent observer (keep your eyes peeled!) before returning to the station. When your train arrives, the next one departs. The trains were obviously built for little people but there is an open-air gondola that's a little more comfortable for larger folks. It's pulled behind the steam engine. Rides are reasonably priced, considering ticket sales are the only source of income for this rolling museum. It is manned by volunteers who love railroads, and you can tell when you speak with any of the staff. The Chippewa Valley Railroad only operates during the summer and only on Sundays and July 4. You might think it's only for kids. In that case, borrow a couple of kids from the neighbors and go ride the train.

There were so many different activities and sections that I've never seen in play places before, like the car repair shop. Since it's so large, it also didn't feel like it was too crowded and overstimulation wasn't a problem. The water area was the favorite with testing out the water that launched the balls through tunes and mazes and even getting some to spin on water. The brain cave was also pretty cool with its colors. We also appreciated a separate toddler area that had the tree you could put leaves in and they shoot out the top. This kept us occupied for a long while. It's a little expensive for a family if you're not a member, but it was well worth it for us to break up a road trip and get some energy out. I highly recommend if you're in the area!

I was very impressed how comfortable and roomy the seats were; it's not all the time you come across that. We opted for free street parking, but noticed some paid lots and valet service for an additional charge. If another show or concert is here, One thing, just be sure to allow yourself sometime to get a beverage and/or a snack, we tried and the line was moving at snails pace, so we passed on it. I was a bit disappointed because I dislike being without water and goshhhh, I was dry during the show, couldn't wait for a nice big gulp of water. I'd be happy to return to The Pablo Center At The Confluence. The few encounters we had with staff were friendly and pleasant.

They even handle the intense rain storms fairly well. This festival is geared toward making money from reserved camping. It appears that some of these reserved entry people forego their reserved spot and head off to the unreserved sections and rope off an acre of land, denying later participants a chance at any of those sites. The reward for reserving is an entry a day early so you aren't scrambling for a good camp site. The fee for a pre pitched tent is an astounding $1900! I'm one of the common folk who enter with the masses on Thursday. The first thing I noticed after staking a claim to a small parcel of real estate is the huge number of smoldering campfires. Everyone seems to be burning smoky wet wood. The family camp area has the most unhealthy air throughout the festival, and these folks are inviting their children to inhale this crap. Half of the people here smoke cigarettes even in the concert areas. They have no clue or don't care about the affect on others. Of course the butts end up on the grass. There is a designated line for lawn chairs, as In don't go beyond this line. This means nothing, people just plop their chairs down right in front of you even if you're on the line. Why no pizza this year Blue Ox? Porta potties are kept clean throughout the festival. Sound is good except when singers belt out a loud burst and over drive the speakers. If the smoke was not such issue I'd give this festival a 4.5.

This is by far the best music festival I have ever been to in Wisconsin. The staff is great, the…read moregrounds are kept immaculate, the Porta potty's are cleaned three times a day every day!! (Even in the middle of torrential downpours they are out cleaning!) Everyone that comes here is of the same mindset, enjoy some bluegrass - spend time in the woods- And overall be really good to one another. The tickets might be considered a bit pricey compared to other festivals, but the way it's put together is by far worth every penny!
