Stoped on our way through Louisiana. Happened to be right next to the rest stop we stopped at and decided to stop by. Just know Yelp has the hours listed incorrectly. It is open on Thursday until 4:00 pm. Check the website for the current days/hours. We had an 1 1/2 left in the day when we stopped in and it was plenty of time since it wasn't busy at all. There is a decent amount of exhibits and a fun submersible exhibit for kids. We didn't make it for the 3D movie. There is also an outside boardwalk you can do if you have more time.

I might have enjoyed this more had I not been exhausted from a full day of travel. I felt the center was underwhelming for an adult. Kids might enjoy it More. Like others mentioned not a lot of places to sit down. The " immersive" theater upstairs was a little perplexing not sure what part was immersive just a video.

    Yes, I was there!

05JUL25 ~ A great space & science adventure for all ages. There was plenty of free parking. The parking lot, grounds around the center, and the center itself were clean, maintained, and well organized. There were several parts of the rockets that had actually been a part of the various Saturn programs. The massive size of the 1st stage of the Saturn V rocket is awesome. There are several sections to explore, children will find several things to interest them, and there are some inspiring items of interest for adults. If you like science, space, or the space program this is a great go to place to stop & enjoy!eat space & science adventure for all ages.

We have passed by this place off I-10 at least once or twice a year and it has never been the right timing to stop. Today we planned for it and WOW! I had no idea there was so much stuff here! It's far more than the rocket booster you can see from the highway. There is a moon lander replica, an Apollo capsule, an exhibit on hurricanes, and more. We thought we would only need an hour since our kids are little, but were wrong. There are also some nature paths and a 3D theatre, which we ran out of time to explore. Guess we will have to come back!

Bathrooms filthy. Plants dying. Exhibits closed. So much in disrepair. I worked at the center years ago. An embarrassment

We were driving from New Orleans to Biloxi when my wife saw the rocket and said she wanted to check it out on the way back. We stopped and she enjoyed seeing the rocket so mission accomplished. As a native Floridian, this place is worth a look but don't compare it to Kennedy Space Center or you'll be crushingly disappointed. It's worth the price just to see the Saturn V rocket up close and get a sense of how large this really is. You can take a bus tour through Stennis Space Center but be sure and get there early as it is first come first serve and it sounds like they do sometimes fill up. It's interesting to see the rocket testing areas but like I said it's a little lame compared to the Kennedy tour and half of the tour is driving to/from the muesum to the space center. The museum itself isn't bad but it's an odd assortment of things. They have a pretty good space portion, a section dealing with plants, a section dealing with hurricanes, etc. and a section dealing with some local history and some other things. What's lame is they charge you extra for the 3D movies so we skipped those. This place is worth a stop on the drive to/from New Orleans but know it's a little overpriced and be sure to check out the rocket.

We just happened to pass by and decided to exit because it would be fun and educational for my daughter. I'm so glad we stopped! It was so much fun. There were a lot of great information that we learned. All the NASA stuff was amazing to see in person. My favorite was the diving under water experience. That was sooo cool! My daughter loved it! We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

What an amazing museum! I have been here before, but it has been about 5 years since I have been here. They have added several interactive displays, a movie. I did not get a chance to see the movie this visit as there was a field trip and all sold out. The outdoor additions are amazing. The lunar landing, walk in the field, floral stuff, swamp stuff. There is a large buffer zone in the area for Stennis. Last time I was here, I did the bus tour of Stennis, which was really cool. Got to see wild boars running in the woods, testing area for NASA, NOAA areas. There are great exhibits about weather, hurricanes, NOAA all mixed in with NASA. It was an absolute blast seeing the kids interact with everything here. The gift shop is on the small side, but pretty good. I always mean to bring visitors here, but it is a bit outside of New Orleans.

Our attention was caught by a satellite at the rest area making us wonder what was special about this rest area. It didn't take long for us to figure it out. This here science center right around the corner. We didn't go inside but there was enough going on outside to keep us interested. It was a pleasant walk around the building and didn't cost anything to look. Definitely worth the detour.

Beautiful facility. Displays are interesting tidbits about the space program but disorganized. They fail to tell a story. It seems like left over displays from other NASA facilities. There were no guide pamphlets or floor layouts to use. You have to just wander around. The Apollo 4 capsule which was an unmanned launch is here forgotten in a back corner. Admission is sort of costly considering you have to pay $4 more to see the 15 min 3D movie about the Space Program - which was interesting. Your membership in a Science museum back home will not get you a discount here. The bus tours of Stennis Space Center have been discontinued. If you have been to NASA in Houston or Huntsville this will be a big let-down.

It's a great place if you love anything Space. It's geared towards younger kids, but seeing actual rockets and NASA equipment makes it all worth it. The gift shop has replica patches from various NASA missions--which was really cool! They have great exhibits about hurricanes and flooding as well! There's also a movie theater for documentaries. Not to mention the giant Saturn V rocket and Moon Lander outside!!

Great outing with the family. About 40 minutes outside of NOLA. Remember to bring your ID to take the bus tour.

One of my favorite art genres is southern art and folk art, so I wanted to swing by Ogden. They have very little traditional art, for which I am grateful. I like things that are a little quirky or moody or have something to say. They have four floors of exhibits (one floor is offices only). I saw some great art focusing on the Black experience in the south as well as music and jazz. They had a couple wonderful photo exhibitions as well, one focusing on jazz legends and another showing never before seen photos from their collection that, of course, focused on the culture of the south. Was 15 dollars a ticket, which is well worth it. We probably spent about 90 minutes here, though you could spend longer if you wanted to read every single plaque. Some of the plaques were a little wordy, but covered the topics well. Staff was polite and helpful. This is right next to the WWII museum, which is a WONDERFUL museum and the most attended attraction in NOLA. I would say you could swing by Ogden before or after that museum, but that might be a little much given the pure expanse of the WWII venue. As another yelper said, Ogden is not an essential stop when in New Orleans, but I would definitely recommend it at least once to see what southern art is all about. You'd likely be surprised at the diversity and talent on display.

We started on the top floor and worked our way down, which made for a nice, organized flow. Some of the artwork throughout the museum felt heavy and powerful, and it was amazing to see so much history represented. I also loved that some pieces featured depictions of other states--it added a broader perspective beyond New Orleans. Overall, a meaningful and well-curated visit.

This 19th-century fort was built after the War of 1812 to defend Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans. It was briefly used as a prison during the Seminole Wars of the 1820s and then was used by Confederate forces during the Civil War where it was used as a training base for Colored Troops. Not much use after then and it was abandoned in 1890 and then listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Unfortunately, the fort was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and then again by Gustav and Isaac in 2008 and 2012. It was closed again in 2015 and is unlikely to open again soon. What I…read morecan do is tell you about my personal experiences here, and explain why you should come and visit for yourself. Why should you visit? If you are even remotely into historic sites, you will enjoy yourself. This brick fortress is very old, but relatively well preserved. The fort has sustained some damage from hurricanes, but the state has kept it in decent shape. The view from the top of the fort is beautiful, and you are likely to see shrimp boats going to or from port. I have very fond memories of this fort. My brothers and I were frequent visitors throughout our youth. The time spent running around the dark, damp corridors had a positive impact on who I am today. Sure the corridors are brick, and falling may hurt, but smashing your head can occasionally knock sense into you. My main complaint is that there are no actual cannons on the site anymore. There used to be giant cannons along the top of the fort, but they have been replaced by plastic replicas. No one likes climbing on plastic replicas. Note: There is a small fee to enter the fort, but it is well worth it.
