Like many of the other reviews I have to agree with the money driven, clicky social environment this church seems to be all about. My inital thought was ok, I like this place and last impression was "this is exactly why I dont feel comfortable attending church" I thought Friends Christian was bad but this is a more intimate smaller church where you can definitely feel the looks and judgement, everything "good" christians dont do right? My Husband and I had been referred to this church for our daughter to start a homeschool program. I toured the program and everything seemed wonderful, we signed our daughter up for the summer program and her teacher Ms. Joy was absolutely wonderful!! If Ms. Joy taught all the classes until they were 18 years old, this review probably wouldnt be written. She's honestly great! Outside of her and a few others, I cant say the same. Since we had such a wonderful experience with Ms. Joy, we signed her up for the fall program for TK. She was put into a combination class TK/Kindergarten. The inital impression from my stand point was not good, the kindergarten teacher was very dismissive and rude to me on the first week cause I asked how to pay for the fee for the classroom supplies I just brushed it off cause I was there for my daughter not myself. There was another incident when I came early to get my daughter out of class, the kids were coming in from lunch my daughter was the last kid to walk in, there was a parent behind her carrying her lunchbag and water, the parent and the teacher locked eyes, rolled them and seemed disgusted by my daughter, they didn't see me standing in the lobby but it was very mean girl coming from adults. I should have said something then but at this point I have already caught on the clicky vibe from this place and figured there would be no point. I watched my daughter slowly lose her personality and happiness. We decided this wasnt the right time for her. We later found out the older girls in the class were being mean to her, I mean these are 4/5 year olds, kind of ridiculous for this to be happening so young and being allowed for that matter. We also found out she had access to a 10 year old boy, which was the most disturbing thing. I get teacher helpers but this was 4th grader that went to school there. My motherly instincts kicked in and something just felt so wrong about it. Pulling her out of this environment was the best thing that we ever did! I highly reccommend attending this church a few times to catch the vibe before enrolling your child into this program. They made us paid the full tuition even though we pulled her out and paid for the full month. Trust me this good christian church will send you a very attorney like letter demanding their money or else. This is a greedy, clicky, judgemental place to learn to love God. This place was a HUGE disappointment. I wish I would have done more research in the beginning. read more

I can't say enough good things about this church. We love the preaching and the music and feel very welcome here every time we come.

I'll start with the good. There are some really nice people that attend this church. The band / singers are really good and have beautiful voices. The camera guys do a great job of getting good angles and lighting to create a powerful experience while you worship. It's like going to a concert rather than church to be honest. There's certainly a high energy at this church, and I'm sure many are drawn to. This is not your traditional church experience. Sadly, there seems to be a money motivated culture here. There is an emphasis on buy our stuff, so you have "the tools" to follow God. Yeah, no thanks. I don't need your shirts or books to strengthen my relationship with God. Pass on that load of crap. When I looked around the room, I saw many people wanting their souls to be filled with the Lord's love. Which is great. Makes sense, right? Wanting to be closer to God, so go to church to worship. My problem with this is that I also saw vulnerable people that can be taken advantage of and brainwashed. People "looking for answers" and wanting to be told what they need to do to be closer to God. That part doesn't sit well with me. I am a big fan of people's self-determination and autonomy. God gave us this ability for a reason. I don't like churches that are pushy and try to push their views down your throat. I don't appreciate churches that tell you how to live your life and go outside the realm of religion and spirituality. For example, pushing politics, or pushing attendees to purchase the churches apparel, and strongly emphasizing a corporate fast (without medical clearance to do so). This gives the impression that if you are not participating in the fast, buying their crap or "getting political" then you are not doing what you should be doing "for God." I am not a fan of this. Also, what if someone did the fast and ended up having a heart attack or stroke and died?? Was that God's will too? Or were false prophets leading people to do dangerous things in the name of God for their own monetary gain?... Honestly, going to church to worship should be enough. Without the politics and other junk. Reading directly from the bible and making your own interpretation of that, should be enough. Praying and talking to God, should be enough. Sure, pastors and church people can help us make sense of what the bible is saying; but ultimately every individual should be deciding what that means to them and what they intend to do with that information. I'm sorry. But my relationship with the Lord is my own. It's personal. No church body is going to tell me what God wants for me. I'm not going to blindly listen to someone else's interpretation of what the Lord wants me to do. This is how cults are started people lol For example, let's look at the history of Charles Mansion. This guy claimed God was talking to him and telling him what people should be doing. And people blindly followed Charles Manson because they believed that God was talking to him and giving him precious insight about what they need to do. And we all know how this ended, with his followers murdering people in the name of God. "I'm just the messenger. God's messenger. I'm the truth." - Charles Manson Just think on your own. Make your own decisions. Find your own relationship with God. And don't let other people push their viewpoints on to you. Even in church. Just because someone goes to church or is a pastor, does not mean they are a good person or that they know the will of God. You would be surprised at how manipulative people can be, all the dark secrets people harbor, and the intentions that motivate their behaviors under the surface. Remember, that is just their interpretation of the bible and God's will. :) Other reviews have mentioned this church being a political social club, having a racist culture and inappropriate attire for a family church. I've never seen a church have so many Caucasian people. Where is the diversity?? I think the only African American person in the entire church was one of the singers. And in-terms of appropriate attire for church. Seriously, one of the speakers was wearing boots I would wear to a goth club or bar. Although, I found them cute personally; they were definitely not appropriate for a family church service. What other yelpers have reported is very true. Heed these warnings... read more

This church has been very inhospitable to Anaheim Hills neighbors who have business, personal addresses and P.O. Boxes at the US Post Office next door. They block access and make entry and exit to USPS difficult with barriers and signage. We just found out they closed the Post Office completely by not renewing the lease. Our business address and Post Office boxes are no longer accessible and this has cost us lost fees, cost in changing our addresses of record, lost time, a great inconvenience. The Influence Church doesn't care about being a good neighbor. Very Un-Christian behavior. read more

I've visited this church and will be going back to visit again. As someone who is theologically trained (MDIV degree) and born again I was really impressed with the pastor and his wife. As I observed them, they seem to REALLY "pastor" the church. Many church pastors today are too busy with writing books, running around the country, Etc. and neglect their number one calling as a pastor. I was also impressed with how the church has a multi-generational worship expression among the church members. Both young and old, men and women seem to flow as a family. In my opinion, the pastor seems to be very balanced between representing the scripture and Christian worldview OF THE PRESENT TIMES as well as in BIBLICAL TIMES. And also presenting a balance between the gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit in word and expression. The younger leaders seemed to be biblically literate while at the same time showing humility. I enjoyed the contemporary worship during the service and like their evangelistic outreach programs. I will be going to visit again and if I still have the same impression of the church I will be considering to move in that area and make it my home church. read more

This church is the reason we haven't left CA. Pastor Phil is a phenomenal preacher. Inspirational, funny, courageous, loves his Country and is full of clarity and wisdom. I can't wait to hear him speak . My kids love there youth group leaders. Great messages my kids love talking about. And my Daughter spends the rest of the day singing the worship songs. They are very involved in their community. Wonderful charity events all year long. Everything they do is professional. Praise team is excellent! Seriously amazing. People are amazing! Great church in a great location. Get some coffee from Bodhi coffee ( which is in the building fyi) and then sit in for a great service. The worship team rivals Hillsong ans have their own label and hits. Quality is off the charts. Love the prayer wall where you can submit a prayer or just pray over others. read more

We drove down to Orange County from the Bay Area last weekend to celebrate my grandfather's 90th birthday. We arrived Saturday morning and knew we'd be leaving less than 24 hours later, and we had a lot of family time and fun to fit into our tight schedule. So when my Aunt asked if we'd like to join her at church Sunday morning, part of me wanted to say no so that we could get on the road and beat the traffic. But my boyfriend and I are both Christians, and we hadn't been to church together yet after a year of dating! Perfect opportunity. Plus, both my parents were in town for the party and their flight home was late afternoon, so they decided to join us too. My aunt and I went early to save some seats and ended up at the coffee shop connected to the church where I bought a couple of hot drinks. We enjoyed these at our seats through the service. Worship started right at 9 a.m. and it was killer! It just so happened that this week it was being led by America's Got Talent finalist Michael Kedderer, since this is his home church. The singing and music and lighting was outstanding! I love a church service with great worship! The regular worship team just released a music album which my mom ended up buying for us; which we then listened to a few times on our 8 hour drive home. (We did not beat the traffic!) The music on there is awesome as well! Pastor Phil's message to the congregation followed the extended worship time and it was positive and relevant and both my boyfriend and I left the service feeling uplifted and filled. We talked about several points of his sermon on our drive home and about the church itself. We both really enjoyed all parts of the morning and next time we're down seeing family we'll definitely come back here. It's worth sitting in a couple extra hours of traffic. So I got to know this church from eventbrite, Kim Walker Smith was leading worship here. (She leads once a month) And I loved the worship, she has an amazing voice and I'm glad I experienced that. Otherwise, i went this past Sunday again, and I was disgusted! They had a "special guest" William Federer and he went on about the history of christianity. (Which had nothing to do with the service because the preaching was supposed to be about giving and generosity) Anyways, if I say he went on about slavery, and how because of christianity, slaves were freed. He used the terms "negroes" and "the blacks" As he "preached" it was very traumatizing to say the least. As the service went on, I honestly say that I felt attacked. I looked around and realized why this "church" had no diversity whatsoever. I've taken two college history classes, and none of them were as racially insensitive as the hour i spent at influence church listening to this sermon. I would define this place as a social club instead. People using the idea of being a church as a way of making them feel better about themselves. Donot come to this "church" if you're black especially!! You will not feel welcomed, from the people in the parking, to the entrance, to the sermon itself. Its a prime example of how people use the word of God and mold it into their dated racial beliefs. I wish them luck though. God bless! read more

I've been attending for a year since I have friends that rant and rave about Influence Church. The worship band often brings melodic voices of Matt Gilman, Kim Walker-Smith. They have a great band on a big stage. At times Sean Feucht visits and leads the band with passionate singing and prayer. This is a patriotic church that intertwines current events into biblical times, and scriptures in the sermons. Current events are quite vivid and I've attended to hear a positive message of hope, and to be around positive people that want to pray together. It seems as though the power of prayer is our only hope to bring America back together. The church is really proactive with those who attend with a youth group, a mens retreat, a womens retreat, bunco nights and more. It makes it fun and I've gotten to know great people. I've never felt that the church is racist, it does not demonstrate racism. If you're a fan of Pastor Jack Hibbs in Chino Hills, you might like Pastor Phil as he's a great speaker. With over 1 million live streaming views online, it's a message of hope to go home with. Grab a coffee in Bodhi Leaf Coffee Store and sit down and relax in comfy chairs and enjoy the Sunday service. read more

I visited this church several times. I did not feel very welcomed. it was very clicky. I went to the womens study during a week night, it was quite crowded and i was looking for a seat, smiling and asking if someone was sitting in a chair. it seemed that nobody really cared, they were not welcoming, kept in their clicks. it did seem more of a clicky social club. I moved on and found a very welcoming nice church where everyone greets each other with a smile and hello and a welcome. read more

This church is an absolute gem! We were initially attending a church in Irvine but with a young child the commute became a challenge since we live in North OC. They provide Spirit-led, contemporary worship music. Pastor's teaching is always relevant and bible based. They provide great daycare. The medium sized congregation is diverse and very friendly. We are able to see and greet the same faces weekly. They offer a variety of small group options. Today I discovered I can access the coffee shop next door through the back of the sanctuary and am allowed to sip my coffee during service. Love it!!! read more

When we first came to this church I thought we would have an amazing church family, and boy was I wrong. This is a church that is a social club with really stuck up people, that come late and don't care about anyone else. No one at this church cares what you are going through at all. INFLUENCE Church has been life changing for us... and such a breath of fresh air after 8 months of online church during Covid! We attended a special event earlier in the year and that's how we were introduced.  We had been attending a mega-church in LA for 3+ years previously that we loved and served in. However,  at that time were watching church weekly on Zoom, and becoming disillusioned.  We were not looking for a new church but were growing increasingly discontent with the head pastor avoiding the topic of the current upheaval in our nation.  We wanted good versus evil discussed from the pulpit. We needed to hear preaching about discernment in the upcoming election. Nothing.   When we arrived that night and were told that no masks were required. We could have leapt for joy!!  We were refusing to live in fear over the virus that was 99.9+ % survivable. Had we found "our people"? This experience that evening made us hungry for more of this environment! There was great worship music before the speaker, and the Pastor, Phil, also spoke. We heard courageous words from his mouth! He gave history and context. We heard memorized scripture pour out of him! We wanted more!! True conviction!! We returned that Sunday and haven't looked back!  We were ready to invest in this church! It was wonderful, and we met so many great people there, welcoming us into ministries, and various groups. INFLUENCE serves the community with free meals for struggling families, it engages with government at all levels to be a voice and be an actual participant in our community and does so much more! We are now 8 months-in and as mature Christians we are still learning and being stretched at INFLUENCE!  We are excited about what the Lord will do in our lives at INFLUENCE this year and in the years to come! read more

After attending the church for a couple months it started to seem very focused on the appearances and having flashy entertainment. I listened to a couple of sermons online. No real Biblical teaching from this pulpit. Preaching about authority and dominion. This pastor actually thinks that we can tell Satan how to behave, heresy. Cherry picking scripture is dangerous to those don't know their Bible. Seems more along the Health and Wealth Prosperity movement. The pastor should call himself a motivational speaker, not a teacher of the Word of God. read more

This church is awesome!!!! Pastor Phil is eclectic and inspirational. In depth bible base service explained with 40 years of research behind him. I always learn an important lesson that specifically pertains to my life. The band will lift you out of your seat, hands in the air, and grateful for the Lord is present.
