I love my church and my church family! I used to attend the lake forest location years ago. I always loved the practical teaching and enjoyed the worship music, and at that time I was glad that it was such a large campus so I could get lost in the crowd. Lol But... now I'm ready to be involved at church and give back to my community. I love serving on the different ministries and I've made such wonderful friends here! This is a satellite location so the main preaching is done in lake forest and then broadcasted to the many different locations. I think there are 19?? It's awesome because then the message is consistent no matter which church you attend. And it makes it easier to not have to commute all the way down to lake forest. They even have churches in other countries! This model of having satellite churches allows a big mega church to feel like a small, intimate church where everyone knows each other and you get to know the pastors. And I love that! And they services at diff times to help accommodate schedule w kids and work and LIFE! sat 4 and 6 PM Sun 9 and 11am, and 5 PM They're always having fun events as well! There's something for everyone... From Chinese new year celebration complete w the dragon dance and won tons, to hot dogs and snacks for the start of baseball season, and other fun events... More importantly, they offer so many different ministries to help people - food pantry, Celebrate recovery, anti human trafficking, single mom groups,... too many to mention! They have like 300 different ministries?!! Anyhoo... if you're looking for a church home or if you're just checking things out, come by and say hello. Shoutout to pastor Mike Arldt for making us newcomers feel so welcome at Saddleback. He has a welcoming and affable quality that makes it so easy to feel comfortable around him. We're plugged into a small group and bible study thanks to him. It's not easy to go through a period of transition (lead pastor is leaving post), but Pastor Mike has done an amazing job of bridging the gap. read more

Visited saddleback this morning at 8:30 the service was a video so I will have to go back next time in town. But the church staff was so nice and they even had a coffee bar but the best part was they had on site baptism. I will definitely visit next month when I'm back in Anaheim. read more

For starters, it's kinda weird rating a church. It's all personal preference. But I made a commitment to myself to find a spot, and being such an advocate yelper, I figured I would give a search on here. I went here strictly based on the ratings and reviews. I personally have not been to church since I was young, and I did move to the area recently. The service did not start on time-which was fine, I completely understand. But what kinda upset me and made me give the rating I did was solely based on the sermon. It was a pre recorded video of a pastor... I felt like I put in the effort to come, to sit around and watch a "movie or show" of the service. I'm personally looking for something potentially smaller, or more personable, with a pastor that is actually there on Sundays to give a sermon. read more

Saddleback has been our home for almost a year now and we enjoy everything about coming here! I wanted to review and simply list out some of the things that I have noticed. They are very welcoming to non-believers and people who are curious to learn. The staff is very friendly. They have Sunday school, with classes available for special needs kids. More than 10 years ago I read a book entitled Purpose Driven Life and it was thought provoking and life-changing. Since that time, I have long desired to visit or at least see a Saddleback campus, particularly the Lake Forest location. The pastor of Saddleback wrote the book. While I was unable to visit Lake Forest, I was fortunate enough to visit this one in Anaheim. It is everything I imagined it would be and more. It's no surprise this ministry has more than 10 locations in CA and four international ones too. If looking for a ministry, this is one worth looking into. read more

Saddleback at the Grove knows how to proudly welcome new comers whether they are already devoted Christians or someone who is lost when it comes to religion. They make it a goal of theirs to make everyone feel at home and pass on the message of God to the willing. Right as you enter the Grove, you are greeted by members of the church. They welcome you with waving hello, asking about your morning, and even shaking your hand. Many people like to believe that most Christians are fake but I can guarantee no phonies here. In the lobby they provide hot tea and coffee along with some morning treats such as muffins or donuts. This particular Saddleback is linked to many other Saddleback churches which ties into their unique style of service. When service starts they have a very enthusiastic band play a few songs before the pastor comes out to welcome everyone, update the service with upcoming events, and then introduce the topic of the day before Pastor Rick Warren speaks on two large screens that plays at every Saddleback Church around the world. No need to bring your bible, they give you a pen and sheet of paper with printed notes and verses with a few blanks you fill out along the way. Very different but I really love it. It feel as if I learn more by having the highlights of the section and being able to add in my own notes rather than flipping back and forth on pages they are taking about. Saddleback has done an amazing job with their services, fun events, and actually sharing the message of the Lord. I'm proud to be apart of the ever expanding Saddleback Community. read more

It is Pstr Rick Warren's PDL book that led me to understand the reason why I lost my my daughter on 2008 and I didn't know that God will lead me to this purpose driven church after 9 years. Saddleback Church has mulple locations and the Anaheim location is the closest to where I reside. Ever since the first time I attended a service when it was at the Grove, I didn't look back. I was so moved by the service and still am today! When you get involved, you'll quickly build relationships with amazing people. The music is live and the sermon is delivered on multiple big screens on stage. If interested to see live, best bet is the Lake Forest campus, but seeing pastors live isn't worth the drive for me. All I need is the message and encouragement. The sermons are relatable, grounded in the Bible, and strong in storytelling. Recommend to check it out! read more

An awesome church designed to reach out to non-Christians but by no means lacking for those seeking a more in-depth experience for spiritual growth. As what we call today a "mega-church," Saddleback pioneered satellite campuses with the main base in Lake Forest, CA and many sister campuses including this one in Anaheim, CA. The weekend messages are done via high-definition video streaming from the Lake Forest base camp. The weekend messages are in short: meaningful, practical & applicable, and God-centered. The messages are always able to connect the end listener to God without being too technical or too religious. As a bonus of being a world-class church, there is the added privilege of hearing the best and greatest speakers and pastors from all across the world. In practical terms, families have the luxury of child care and engaging kids/Jr. High/High School areas. Most people are involved in a local small group where you get to really know people at your church. Simply being such a large organization it's difficult to feel like you know anyone unless you join one. If you truly want to grow faster than other new believers, you simply have seek out the other programs the church offers (and Saddleback literally has hundreds of ministries and classes). Classes 101-501 gets you from becoming a members and understanding the beliefs to understanding how to a better person and apply yourself. I personally enjoyed the classes offered by the Finance Ministry: Crown Financial & the Financial Freedom Workshop. Ultimately, it doesn't matter which campus you attend: Long Beach, Irvine, Anaheim, etc. to get the experience you want. To reach your spiritual goals you can simply tailor that experience to suit your needs. It's exactly like college. The weekend messages are the General Education courses. Once you have a handle on it, pick some upper division courses via the various ministries. Finally, real world application comes by way of joining a small group and finding a ministry you want to help. Please note Saddleback Anaheim is about to find a permanent building. Luckily the move is literally right across the street at the old LA Fitness building. read more

We are moving to the anaheim area in a few weeks and wanted to find a new church to call home. We decided to try saddleback first from our list. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! We have a 3 year old and a baby on the way so the children's ministry is very important to us. We were very pleased with how it was ran. Our son loved it and is excited to go back. The Worship was awesome! Rick Warren is absolutely amazing and such an encouraging pastor. Jeremiah Goley seems like a great pastor as well, energetic and well spoken! This has been my husband and I's church home for over a year now and we absolutely love it! After our first visit we knew we were home. The people here are amazing, they have tons of ways to get involved. Worship is great! Great kids program. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They have a men's softball team which was one of the big reasons for us going here. We love getting to here Pastor Rick from the main campus, but not having to drive out to Lake Forrest and still getting the amazing fellowship. Overall an wonderful experience every Sunday! I currently attend Saddleback Church at The Grove, which is a satellite campus of the main campus, Saddleback Church in Lake Forest. The Grove campus is one of the fastest growing churches in North Orange County, and is doing some great community outreach to help people in need and also spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Though it may seem like a big church, Saddleback Chuch at The Grove also has the personality of a small church. It's easy to get connected with many small groups and ministries, and getting connected is the key to being part of God's family. You're not just a number at Saddleback Church, you're actually truly loved and cared for at Saddleback Church at The Grove, because we're all imperfect. I really love SB at the Grove. It's been my church home for about 2 years now. I've attended SB Lake Forest since 2006 and could not ask for a better church experience. The messages are aimed at every person, every age. It's not a church designed for young singles or married couples...it's for everybody. I enjoy the Grove because it's closer and more convenient but unfortunately the worship is really bad. The new worship leader is so focused on making sure he looks "hipster" enough and I have never been able to connect with him and the worship he sings. I would rather have a different worship leader every week than him. He dresses like he just woke up and sings the same songs weeks and weeks in a row. Other than that, people are friendly, activities are fun, and you always feel at home when you're at the Grove. read more
