I run a large, very complex digital, pro tools based music studio. We're talking multiple SSDs, HDs, outboard equipment, interfaces, controllers . About 20TBs or more of critical data, both internal and external. This time my c :drive completely died. No system restore or other options possible. He somehow was able to basically clone a large dead SSD to the point that I was able to be back up and running in just a day or two. The man can do anything with a computer. Anything. I just wanted to get my data off. In the end, I chose not to ride back and forth another 17 miles, 3x --go home, find pwd in my agenda, wait for repair, ride back to pick it. He advised me not to fix it. Easier and better to get a new phone through my provider. He wouldn't take any money for his work but I gave him cash. He is very good and trustworthy. I have never had the work on my phone before. I have to say do not be turned off by the appearance of the store front. The windows have been cracked due to vandalism and Max is waiting on getting things fixed. Like many fix it shops there are things all over the place getting fixed and pulled apart...but after asking questions and getting answers I can tell you that Max deserves a great review. The service request executed each time, on multiple different laptops, across multiple years, mirrored one of the range of possibilities - and timelines for each possibility - laid out after his initial hands on assessment. Service is well priced and billing for services rendered always aligned with what was quoted for that service and any necessary replacement. Beyond all that, there's the trust & peace of mind you feel that you're dealing w a straight up good dude, who will treat you right. Can be tough to get that in this space, and similar, like a good car mechanic.
