I found MC2 Home Inspections on Yelp. I touched base with them months in advance and I was…read morecomfortable with the conversation. They responded to my message in a timely manner, answered all my questions and they weren't pushy about getting their services. I have a new build so when it was finally time to hire an inspector I decided to go with MC2. So glad I did. They were reasonable and the inspection took about 3 hours. It was a smooth process and Greg, my inspector, was awesome. He was VERY picky (which I love) and he pointed out things that I wouldn't have seen. Please do NOT purchase a home without getting your own inspection done (IMO). Greg was very professional, he came in with footies and he had the report done later that night filled the pictures, notes and suggestions. It was definitely useful when I did my walkthrough with the contractor. Building a new home is already stressful but MC2 made it a little easier. Thank you for all your help, it's appreciated.

It has been such a great experience working with MC2 Home Inspectors. I called to schedule the inspection the day before Thanksgiving and Mike answered right away and told me they had availability the Friday after Thanksgiving (quick turnaround!). Mike also encouraged me to attend the inspection since I could ask any question I wanted and really get to know the new home I was purchasing. Jeremy was such a wonderful inspector. I almost consider him more of a consultant than an inspector! He knew SO much about everything in the home and gave me recommendations about everything I was unsure of. I received a detailed report with pictures of the home the same day. I cannot recommend MC2 enough, thank you for such a wonderful experience!

If you plan on using this business, just know that this business lacks the proper professionalism…read moreethics and morality of any business that you're going to allow into the trusted spaces of your home. Have to recently hiring this company to do a home inspection for my family, to buy my friends home, we discovered a whole box of very vintage baseball cards come up missing after the home inspector was in the house. Attempted to put a review up about the situation and the business owner instead of saying hey what's going on let's see if we can address this immediately started calling me a liar saying no no employee of mine would do that, but I have all the communications from the homeowner and the realtor who both state that these cards were stolen from the home as neither one of them had it , and they were promised to my child. Then when I email the business owner to try to address it he still continues to call me a liar instead of addressing the issue and tells me to go ahead and post reviews. So just know this man is not the type of guy you want to do business with! He will allow an employee to come into your home and steal from you and then defend the employee behind a false reputation of a business that is highly suspect now that he is attacked us the victims of a crime by one of his employees.

The inspection report was provided both electronically and as a hard copy. The key issues he discovered with the house were clearly indicated. We have used Pillar to Post for several home inspections and previously had good experiences, which…read moremakes our experience with our most recent inspection particularly disappointing. During the inspection of a home we purchased, the report stated that the roof appeared to be approximately in the middle of its life expectancy. The inspection also documented active leaks and recommended further evaluation and repairs, which we understood and are not disputing. Less than a year later, when preparing to sell the home, another home inspector assessed the roof as being at/near the end of its useful life. We then had a roofing professional independently evaluate it, who also recommended replacement. We contacted Pillar to Post because of the significant discrepancy between a roof appearing to be mid-life and multiple professionals indicating less than a year later that it was at/near end of life. The original inspector returned to look at the roof and disagreed that it needed complete replacement. He also repeatedly pointed out that much of the roof had been covered by snow during the original inspection. That left us with an additional concern: if visibility was significantly limited by snow, we questioned how an assessment that the roof appeared to be in the middle of its life expectancy could confidently be made in the first place. We attempted to work directly with Pillar to Post toward some type of reasonable resolution. Ultimately, they were not willing to offer one, and we were advised that we would need to pursue the formal dispute process if we wanted to seek compensation. Something we would encourage anyone considering a home inspection to pay close attention to is the limitation of liability in the pre-inspection agreement. The agreement we signed limited the company's liability to no more than twice the inspection fee. In our case, that would be less than $1,000, regardless of the substantially greater financial impact we believe resulted from the disputed assessment. Pursuing formal action over that amount simply did not make financial sense for us. We understand that an inspection is not a guarantee and that professionals can have differing opinions. We also understand that conditions can change over time. Our disappointment is with what happened when a significant assessment contained in the report was later challenged by other professionals. We expected the company to make a meaningful effort to stand behind its assessment or work with us toward a reasonable resolution, and that was not our experience. Because we had good experiences with Pillar to Post previously, we aren't saying that every inspection they perform will result in an issue. However, based on this experience, we would not use them again. We would also strongly encourage anyone hiring a home inspector--not just this company--to carefully read the limitation-of-liability language in the contract and understand how little recourse you may have if you later believe something significant in the inspection report was inaccurate. It is also important to ensure the company will stand behind their report and errors within it, because Pillar to Post in Anderson, IN will not.
