imo Ingles does an excellent job. Such a good variety of products and choices. The only place in three counties you can find foods from so many different cultures - everything from cannoli shells to wasabi :-). The variety of produce is marvelous, and usually very fresh. Haven't been in the actual store for a while, but the pick-up feature is **fabulous**. Being handicapped and home-bound, i can send in an order and have someone pick it up for me. Overall, i would definitely recommend Ingles. read more

We don't have Ingle's in my area, so I am always overjoyed to visit when I'm travelling in Western NC. The stores are immaculate, well-stocked, and have some of the most beautiful produce I have seen. read more

I'm so disappointed in the service I received today. I asked for some change in 10s, 5s, and 1s and I was denied. I asked if I could request some change for pickup tomorrow or Thursday - and was denied. The individual wasn't overly helpful, unwilling to say when I might be able to get change. I am a local artist preparing for Burnsville First Friday, and I don't have a local bank account. Ingles charges absolute top dollar for groceries; I would think they would offer us this service, particularly for local artisans. read more

In my past review I was very upset because they would fuss at you if you didn't physically have your ingles card at checkout. They have since corrected this and you can enter it at the register. Therefore, I am changing my review to a perfect 5 stars. Ingles is typically a bit pricier than most other grocery stores, but they have (by far) the best selection of sauces, beers, wines, cheeses, and their produce and meats are always perfect and fresh. read more

This is a GREAT SUPERMARKET. I am in the land of Harris Teeters here in Charlotte but my daughter bought a Mountain House in Burnsville NC and this is THE STORE to shop at in Burnsville. It is large and had every department you could desire. The Bakery is gorgeous, and smells wonderful, just ate a Croissant tonight from there. Cheese dept is pretty good. Meat is wonderful and goes on and on. Great choice on Beer and Wine and Seltzers. All kinds of canned good and the Fresh vegetables even locally grown are great. The Olive bar is one of my favorites I must say. And it is very clean and friendly ! read more

I have lived all over this country and Canada. Ingles is the best supermarket I've ever seen. It's one of the reasons I wanted to move to NC! They are clean, well stocked and courteous. They carry a lot of specialty foods you wouldn't expect in the country (I'm celiac and can't eat gluten, but they have everything I could ever need to feel normal) I recommend their higher end steaks, their clean salad bar, the gluten free section, and all the veggies and cheeses! I'm not a drinker, but they do have a large selection of beverages. This store even has a large amount of non grocery items. You can really expect to find almost anything there. read more

This is like the ONLY real, full service supermarket in the area, but having said that, the place is as good as any you'll find. In my visit, the place was clean, and well stocked. This is well-stocked, clean and the people that work there seem to be well-trained. If there is something that they don't carry, just speak to the manager and they'll be able to get the item for you. Definitely well-managed and it shows when it comes to shopping there. I've visited the same store several years apart and nothing truly changes except for the fact that they now have a Starbucks. I'll note that they don't take Starbucks card though (so no paying with the phone app) since like all grocery stores, these kiosks are manned by grocery employees and not Starbucks. But I digress. The store itself is comparable to any other major grocery store in a large city which is nice to see for such a little town. read more

Everything in this store is overpriced. I buy the store brand old fashioned oats to make granola. The Laura Lynn brand costs over $2.50 more than the Walmart brand. Unfortunately it's the only store that carries a few other items I need or I would absolutely never go there. I noticed they stopped selling the store brand flavored coffee creamers too, so that you have to buy the much more expensive name brands. If you want to save $$ on your groceries, this is not the place to shop. read more

Living in a small town (Etowah), we don't have a choice when it comes to supermarkets until we want to make a minimum 20 mile roundtrip. So it's mostly Ingles and they're okay, the employees are decent and so is the service. But where Ingles drops the ball is: cleaniness, selection and prices. I have an inside track when it comes to how clean they are; a relative of mine was employed there and she had a lot to say about their sanitation and lack thereof. It might not be visible to the general public but the issue is there. Of course it doesn't apply to packaged goods and produce. Their selection is ... pedestrian. The average Jane or Joe can find the basics but don't expect to find much in the way of anything unusual or deeply ethnic. I can't tell you how many times we've looked for something and they don't carry it. Requests to the manager have never worked. Is what it is. And finally, the biggie: PRICE. I've been shocked to see how much Ingles prices have gone up over the last couple of years and, compared to other regional markets, in some cases vastly higher. We know this because my wife works in Hendersonville and ocassionally shops at Aldi's, Go Grocery, Harris, etc. I can't explain why this is ... but it is. read more

Writing this complaint because today I bought a carton of whole milk and after putting a bunch of whipped cream, vanilla in a pan, poured this into the mixture and lumps of gunk came out of the supposedly high end A2 milk and into my mixture. Of course I had to throw it all out because of the sour milk. Ingles does not compare to Publix. Publix is clean, they wipe down carts, Ingles claims they do not have the manpower to do this but finally did offer some wiping cloths when they became available. They will not bag my groceries if I have a Publix Cloth bag with me, they claim for sanitary reasons (yet they bag their own cloth bags). Overall, Ingles has a long way to go to catch up with Publix. I hate those little cards you have to have or else don't get the discounted items. Wake up Ingles!!! read more

I live in the Raleigh NC area and here on vacation. The selection is very impressive for Gluten Free and vegan.

I am not impressed with this store at all. May be its good store for someone who careless about eating healthy and like big selection of process food in their diet but as for me I need grass fed protein and non GMO Organic produce. Every time I come here hoping to get lucky I get disappointed. How come this store sale for the regular price dead yellow greens ? YAK !!!!! It should be in the garbage long ago. I used to volunteer at the food bank in another state and people would get for free much fresher produce and better selections of organic. I wanted to buy cucumber for my salad which cost I believe $2.99 for one and quoter of cucumber was very soft, associate told me I can cut off that portion and my reaction was why should I pay full price than ? I asked sale associate $ 1off for something has to go into garbage and his answer was NO, management wouldn't let that happen. Really ? I decided to pass on it. I would understand if its discount store but its not ! The management should never allow dead food to be on the shelves of the supermarket its bad reputation and impression for the store specially If they value their customer opinion. I should never been told either that I have to drive to Asheville to Whole Food to buy healthier selection. The healthy food should be available locally anytime in the grocery store for people who care about their health same as you carry process junk for the people who don't care about their health. Now, the best way to carry fresh local produce is to make business with the local organic farmers, so this way you don't need to make excuses about high prices of gas for transporting and spoiled produce that's what other state do to support local businesses, cut the cost and make consumers happy. read more

This is the most overpriced grocery store. They made sure they had no competition in town by putting in a second store that I really think is a little trashy. I will drive to Weaverville rather than spend a dime in this store! The produce dept. Is large and looks beautiful but so many times the product is not edible when you get it home The employees are always fantastic, just wish I could say the same for the prices. Maybe the prices seem reasonable for vacationers but certainly not for most locals! read more

The manager Ron or ronny is a joke for management and the store is in great need of repairs if one was to look close enough. The place stays trashy inside and outside. The parking lot is a disaster zone thats hardly ever been cleaned if ever. The shopping carts are poor condition and barely roll right. The dates of foods is always off or out of date. They will still have cooked whole chickens out of date then act upset that you informed a employee of this. I won't ever shop at the burnsville nc location. The best thing for the burnsville location is to be closed down and be put under a more competent management. read more

I used to agree with with the other reviews, until the other day. I used the self check out and asked the lady if she could input the 10 sodas i had(they had to be done in 2 orders because I wanted the discount. Something wasn't working right after she did the first 5 because it wouldn't let me pay, so i added one of the French fries i had( forgetting that they were on sale and you have to buy 2. The problem started when i looked at the receipt and tried to get them to see if they could tell me if i gor the discount. First i talked to some kid and he needed a calculator to subtract 3.00 from 4.18...then after using said calculator, tried to tell me that i got the sale price because there was a discount of 1.68 on receipt, so they gave me an extra .50 cents off ( the sale was 2 for 6.00, 3.00 apiece right? Regular price was 4.18) i asked him if i could get more at that price and he said no. I asked to speak to a manager. She (after he talked with her for a few minutes) tried to tell me that the 1.68 was the discount. I asked her if I could get more at that price then, and she also said no. So i asked to speak to a another manager, she got all nasty and said she was it i couldn't talk to anyone else. I asked for the managers phone number, she said call store. She was really rude and nasty, and i was trying very hard to not yell back at her. So, as long as you never have a problem, ingles is a really good place to shop... lol read more
